The invention relates to a system for preparing beverage, including a second and first exchangeable capsule and an apparatus including a first brew chamber part having a cavity for holding one of the first and second capsules, and a second brew chamber part for closing the first brew chamber part and having an extraction plate for abutting against an exit face of the hold capsule, and including a central and a peripheral portion, the central portion being axially movable relative to the peripheral portion from a first position to a second position, the apparatus including a locking mechanism for locking the central portion in the first position when the cavity holds the first capsule. A device to provide in-line flavor for water or other liquid stored in a container. An example device includes a body having a cylindrical shape chamber formed therein, and an opening on a first end of the body. A cartridge holder fits within the chamber of the body and retains a flavoring therein for the water or other liquid. The cartridge holder has a plurality of openings for the water or other liquid to flow through. When a user drinks from the drinking end, the water or other liquid flows from the container and through the housing and mixes with a flavoring from the cartridge holder before being drawn through to the drinking end so that the user drinks a flavored water or other liquid.

A beverage brewing device reduces the time required to produce a cold-brewed beverage. The brewer includes a container and a brewing material holder configured to be suspended from a lid of the container. The brewing material holder includes at least a mesh panel and is configured to support and contain brewing material in the brewing material holder. The lid assembly includes a mechanism configured to rotate the brewing material holder with respect to the lid about an axis extending away from the lid. The container is filled with water and the brewing material holder is filled with brewing material and submerged in the water within the container. Movement of the brewing material submerged in water substantially reduces the time required for cold brewing.

A detachable capsule-breaching head for a beverage-mixing device. The capsule-breaching head comprises a capsule 48-container body having a first body part which is telescopically movable on an actuation axis A relative to a second body part. The capsule-breaching head further has at least one capsule-receiving chamber in the first body part and a capsule-breaching element at the second body part movable relative to the capsule-receiving chamber on the actuation axis A. The present invention relates to a dosing device for a product in powder form, comprising a holder (10) intended to hold a first quantity of the product therein. The holder is provided with dosing means to draw off the product from the holder and move it to an outlet. The dosing means comprise a worm body (20) with a worm thread (21). In a first aspect the worm body comprises at an outer end facing toward the outflow opening at least one further worm thread (22) which runs between the first worm thread (21). In a second aspect the worm thread (21) encloses a smaller volume between successive turns at a base than between successive turns in a part thereof located further toward the outer end.

The present invention provides improved spectral signature strategies for use in a wide range of product and service applications. The present invention encodes spectral signature features into one or more optical brightener compounds and/or one or more infrared absorbing compounds. Equipment is modified with appropriate ultraviolet/violet or infrared LED illumination sources and corresponding detectors, optionally optical filters, and optionally mask elements, in order to read the spectral responses. These features desirably are used in combination with one or more other luminescent taggant compounds.
