Turbidity Sensor Assembly Including an Integral Water Level Indicator
A turbidity sensor assembly for a dishwasher appliance is provided. The turbidity sensor assembly measures the turbidity of wash fluid in a manner similar to conventional turbidity sensors, but also includes an integral water level indicator. The water level indicator is an opaque buoyant ball that rises and falls with the water level to provide a water level indication that can be used to shut off the drain pump when the sump is empty. More specifically, when the water level drops below a predetermined level, the opaque ball blocks the transmission of light between the emitter and receiver of the turbidity sensor, thus indicating that the sump is almost empty. As a result, the pump operating during a drain cycle need only operate long enough to drain the sump, and this may be achieved without an additional measuring device or complicated control system.
Method of controlling operation of a washing appliance
Provided herein are a method of controlling operation of a washing appliance and a washing appliance being controlled by the method. The method may include displaying, on a user interface of the washing appliance, an estimated duration of a selected washing program for the washing appliance; displaying, on the user interface, a degree of ecological impact caused by the selected washing program; allowing a user to operate the user interface to change the duration of the selected washing program, wherein the washing appliance adapts the selected cleaning program to comply with the changed duration; and displaying on the user interface the degree of ecological impact caused by the selected washing program when complying with the changed duration.
WASHING APPLIANCE, METHOD OF DETECTING OPERATIONAL ERROR, AND CONTROL ARRANGEMENT
A washing appliance comprising a liquid container, a liquid level indicator unit configured to provide data indicative of a liquid level in the liquid container, a drain conduit, and a drain pump. The washing appliance further comprises a control arrangement configured to operate the drain pump during a first time period, control the drain pump to a standstill during a second time period following the first time period, and monitor a change of the liquid level during the second time period using data from the liquid level indicator unit. Also provided are a method of detecting an operational error in a washing appliance, a computer program, a computer-readable medium, and a control arrangement for a washing appliance.
SYSTEM WITH A DISHWASHER, METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT
A system includes a dishwasher including a washing chamber, a sensor unit designed to detect a time curve of at least one sensor signal of a washing liquor and to output the detected time curve of the at least one sensor signal, a memory unit designed to store the time curve of the at least one sensor signal, an ascertaining unit designed to ascertain a temporal functional value based on the time curve of the at least one sensor signal, and a control device designed to carry out a washing program for washing washware in the washing chamber of the dishwasher and to carry out a specified action as a function of the temporal functional value..
WASHING OR WASHING/STERILIZING AND DRYING OR DRYING/STERILIZING WITH OPTIONAL INDEPENDENT STERILIZATION APPARATUS WITH ROBOTIC ARMS
A washing and drying unit configured to perform at least one of washing, drying, and sterilizing, or any combination thereof includes at least one sensor configured to determine a dimension and/or shape of the object, a washing and/or sterilizing apparatus and a drying and/or sterilizing apparatus configured to direct at least one apparatus or spray of a washing and/or sterilizing or a drying and/or sterilizing fluid to the object, at least one robot arm connected to at least one of the apparatuses, and a controller operable to orient and move the at least one robot arm. A separate sterilization apparatus may be included and the sterilization may include using electrified water or water that has been exposed to ultraviolet light. The controller orients the at least one robot arm based on the dimension and/or shape determined by the at least one sensor.
AUTOMATIC DISHWASHING METHOD
A method of cleaning ware in a domestic dishwasher using a program having a main wash and a rinse cycle, the method having the step of delivering a dose of a cleaning composition wherein the delivery of the cleaning composition is split between the main wash and the rinse.
AUTOMATED CLEANING MACHINE PROCESSING USING SHORTENED CYCLE TIMES
An automated cleaning machine may include one or more short cleaning cycles in which the duration of a cleaning cycle is shortened relative to the duration of a default cleaning cycle. During a short cleaning cycle, other cleaning cycle parameters may also be adjusted to ensure that the articles subjected to the short cleaning cycle are adequately cleaned and sanitized. For example, the wash temperature, rinse temperature, and/or cleaning product amounts or concentrations, may be adjusted to account for the shortened duration of the cleaning cycle. The automated cleaning machine may further include one or more short cycle mode(s) during which short cleaning cycle parameters are used and one or more default cycle mode(s) during which default cleaning cycle parameters are used.
RECIRCULATING CHEMICAL-SANITIZING WASHING MACHINE
A method for operating a recirculating chemical-sanitizing dishwasher includes filling a wash tank of the dishwasher with water, and performing a first cycle of washing by circulating the water through a wash chamber of the dishwasher. A partial drain is performed of a first amount of water from the wash tank, and new water (for example, rinse water) is added to the wash tank for a second amount of water approximately equal to the first amount. A second cycle of washing is performed by circulating the water through the wash chamber of the dishwasher.
MONITORING AND CONTROL OF THERMAL SANITIZATION IN AUTOMATED CLEANING MACHINES
Systems and/or methods for the monitoring and/or control of thermal sanitization in automated cleaning machines are described. A cleaning machine controller may predict a number of heat unit equivalents that will be delivered during a cleaning process based on a sump temperature difference (i.e., a change in the temperature of the cleaning solution in the sump) experienced at or near the beginning of the cleaning process. One or more cleaning process parameters may be adjusted and/or controlled based on the sump temperature difference in order to ensure that a target number of heat unit equivalents are delivered in order to achieve thermal sanitization of the wares subjected to the cleaning process.
Dishwasher appliance with camera for basket detection
A dishwasher appliance can include a basket configured for receipt of articles for washing and a camera assembly mounted within the wash chamber with a view of a rack assembly. A controller is operably coupled with the camera assembly and may be configured for obtaining an image of the rack assembly positioned in the wash chamber, determining whether the basket is positioned in the rack assembly, and adjusting at least one operating parameter of the dishwashing appliance based on whether the basket is positioned in the rack assembly.
