Methods and systems for an integrated acid regeneration of ion exchange resins are disclosed for use in cleaning applications. Acid resins designed for use in a variety of cleaning application using a treated, softened, acidic water source are disclosed. Various methods of using the softened acidic water generated by acid regenerate-able ion exchange resins within a cleaning application, e.g. ware wash machine, are disclosed to beneficially reduce spotting, filming and scale buildup on treated surfaces, reduce and/or eliminate the need for polymers, threshold reagents and/or rinse aids, and using protons generated in the acidic water effluent for triggering events useful in various cleaning applications.

A dish treating appliance includes a cabinet defining an interior with an access opening. A door is hingedly mounted to the cabinet for pivoting movement about a pivot axis between closed and opened positions to selectively close and open the access opening. A door opener includes a housing mounted to the cabinet and defining a pin opening facing the door. An opening pin is located within the housing and aligned with the pin opening. A dish washer includes a cabinet; a tub in the cabinet; a sump underneath the tub; a case brake on a side wall of the tub and connected to the sump; a water supply valve connected to an external water supply source; a filter assembly between the water supply valve and the case brake and including a plurality of flow path valves to open or close a plurality of flow paths corresponding to the plurality of flow path valves to guide water supplied from the external water supply source to the case brake; and a processor configured to open the water supply valve and one of the plurality of flow path valves at different points in time to start supplying the water and close the water supply valve and the one of the plurality of flow path valves at different points in time to stop the supplying of the water.

A dishwasher including: a cleaning chamber; a water tank which stores water in order to supply water to the cleaning chamber; a water softener which is connected to the water tank and to which a filter is mountable; and a regenerator which is connected to the water softener in order to regenerate the filter while the filter is mounted to the water softener, wherein the water tank comprises a softened water chamber that is supplied with water that has been softened in the water softener and stores same, and a recycled water chamber which receives softened water from the softened water chamber and is connected to the regenerator in order to supply water to the regenerator.

A lower rack for a domestic dishwasher is constructed for being liftable and includes a fixed lower rack element, and a removable lower rack element connectable to the fixed lower rack element and constructed for removal from the fixed lower rack element to thereby unblock access to a bottom area of a washing container of the domestic dishwasher.

A dishwasher includes a dishwashing tub in which dishes are washed; a first tank configured to store therein cold washing water to be used for a next stroke; and a second tank configured to store therein hot washing water, which has been used in the dishwashing tub. The second tank is placed adjacently to the first tank to transfer heat from the stored hot washing water to the cold washing water. An opening is configured to deliver the hot washing water to the dishwashing tub; and a circulation pipe is configured to connect the dishwashing tub and the second tank to enable the hot washing water to circulate between the second tank and the dishwashing tub. A circulation valve is configured to allow the hot washing water to pass therethrough or to block the hot washing water from passing therethrough.

A dishwasher and method for treating dishes according to a cycle of operation, wherein the dishwasher can include a tub at least partially defining a treating chamber, a dish rack movably received within the treating chamber and a spray system fluidly connected to the water supply. The dish rack is configured for receiving dishes or utensils for treatment during the cycle of operation. The spray system can include a set of sprayers located within the treating chamber that are configured to selectively emit spray from the water supply onto dishes or utensils on the dish rack.
