A dishwasher and method utilize an imaging system to perform various diagnostic operations within the dishwasher, including one or more of level sensing, filter cleaning, wash tub rinse down, foam detection, imaging system cleaning, and remote viewing.

A dishwasher may include a sump configured to store water, a main arm disposed at the sump and configured to supply water from the sump, an auxiliary arm rotatably disposed at the main arm and configured to spray water, and an auxiliary arm connection member disposed at the main arm and configured to rotatably support the auxiliary arm, where the auxiliary arm may include an auxiliary flow passage configured to allow water flow through the auxiliary arm, where the main arm may include a transfer flow passage in fluid communication with the auxiliary flow passage, where the auxiliary arm connection member may include a flow tube disposed at the main arm in fluid communication with the transfer flow passage and the auxiliary flow passage.

A dishwasher and method for treating dishes according to a cycle of operation, the dishwasher comprising a tub at least partially defining a treating chamber and a dish rack movably received within the treating chamber. The dishwasher configured for receiving dishes for treatment during the cycle of operation, and moveable relative to the tub. A sprayer located within the treating chamber, configured to emit spray into the dish rack. A deflector coupled to the sprayer.

A sprinkler device (T) according to the present invention which is suitable for use in a dishwasher (B) comprising a cleaning chamber (B1), for spraying a cleaning fluid onto the dishes by positioning it to rotate about a first axis (E1) comprises a carrier body (T1) which is rotatable about the first axis (E1); a fixed arm (T2) which is located on the carrier body (T1), which is fixed relative to the carrier body (T1) and rotatable with the carrier body (T1), which has a one hole (P) thereon, and through which the cleaning fluid is sprayed on the dishes through the hole (P) to thus rotate the carrier body (T1); a movable arm (T3) which is connected with an edge of the carrier body (T1), a part of which passes through an opening on the edge of the carrier body (T1) and projects from the carrier body (T1), which has a hole (P) thereon, which allows the carrier body (T1) to rotate about the first axis (E1) by spraying, through the hole (P), the cleaning fluid passing therethrough by means of a passage opening on its side facing the carrier bod (T1), which is movable towards the center of the carrier body (T1); a movement mechanism located outside the carrier body (T1), which enables said movement of the movable arm (T3) by means of the rotational movement of the carrier body (T1); and a transmission mechanism which transmits the movement received from the movement mechanism to the movable arm (T3).

A system and method for cleaning a dish, comprising: illuminating said dish with a light source; capturing an image of said dish with a camera; inspecting said image to determine if said dish is clean; and estimating locations of dirty regions on said dish; spraying a fluid with a first nozzle on said dish with a predetermined spray distribution, wherein said first nozzle can reorient or relocate to spray said fluid on any region of said dish visible in said image; and spraying a fluid with a second nozzle on said dish with a spray distribution having a smaller coverage than that of said first nozzle, wherein said second nozzle is relocated or reoriented such that the fluid reaches said dirty regions at said locations on said dish; whereby dirty regions of said dish are targeted for a fast and efficient cleaning of said dish.

A dishwasher, dishwasher sprayer, and method for assembling the same utilize a rotatable conduit that is supported in a cantilevered fashion on a wash tub wall of the dishwasher. The rotatable conduit may be supported within a conduit support and may project through an aperture in the conduit support, and may include a shoulder portion that inhibits axial movement of the rotatable conduit within the conduit support.

A dishwasher may include a tub configured to accommodate one or more items to be washed, a spray arm rotatably mounted to the tub, and configured to spray water onto the one or more items to be washed, a sump disposed at a bottom surface of the tub and configured to store water and to supply stored water to the spray arm, a fixed gear unit fixed to the tub with gear teeth arranged along an outer circumferential surface of the fixed gear unit, a rotary gear unit rotatably mounted on the spray arm and configured to engage the gear teeth of the fixed gear unit, and a link member connected to the rotary gear unit and the spray arm, where the spray arm may include, a main arm with a pair of arms, and a pair of auxiliary arms rotatably connected to the main arm.

A dishwasher may utilize a multi-level dishwasher rack that in some instances may be reconfigurable into different configurations to optimize the rack for different types and/or combinations of utensils. A movable divider may be used in some instances to selectively expose a deep portion of a rack, and a drawer may be used in some instances to provide access utensils stored underneath a divider. A movable portion of a bottom of a rack may also be used in some instances to provide different support surfaces in the rack at different elevations. A tubular spray element or another rotatable spray tube may also be positioned relative to a multi-level dishwasher rack in some instances to facilitate concentrated washing of different facing surfaces of different utensils stored in the rack.
