A system and method for adjusting a dishwasher rack in a dishwasher includes a base, a slider and a lock for raising and lowering a dishwasher basket between an up and down position, respectively. The slider is connected in a fixed engagement with the dishwasher basket. The base includes two or more rollers for engagement with dishwasher slide rails and is slideably engaged relative to the slider. The lock is biased into a locked position when the base is fully upwardly extended relative to the slider and is released to permit the basket to be lowered downwardly.

A retracting rack for an appliance such as a dish washing appliance. The rack may be positionable between a stowed position and a deployed position. A spring may drive the rack towards the stowed position. A locking mechanism may be used to secure the rack in one or more positions. A release mechanism and/or a reset mechanism may be used to control the retracting cycle of the rack.

A household dishwasher includes a holder for items to be washed for holding items to be washed, and a lifting device for raising the holder for items to be washed from a starting position to an end position and for lowering the holder for items to be washed from the end position to the starting position. The lifting device includes a spring element, which assists the raising and lowering of the holder for items to be washed with the aid of an assisting force, and a spring bias adjusting unit, which tailors the assisting force to a loading state of the holder for items to be washed by adjusting a spring bias.

A dishwasher includes a storage part in which a washing target is stored. The storage part includes a guide disposed in an edge area, a frame coupled to the guide, and a tray coupled to the frame. The tray includes a locking portion protruding from an edge area thereof and coupled to the frame, and configured to elevate the tray with respect to the frame. The frame includes a slot in which the locking portion is inserted, and a rail protruding toward the slot and forming some area of an outer shape of the slot, and configured to guide the movement of the locking portion and suppress the locking portion from being separated from the slot.

A dishwasher having a washing chamber, a rack, and a pivot arm arrangement supporting the rack relative to the washing chamber. The pivot arm arrangement is movable from a lower position to an upper position so as to elevate the rack from the first extracted position to an elevated position. The dishwasher further comprises an actuator assembly transferrable between a first state in which the actuator assembly is configured to cause the pivot arm arrangement to move from the lower position towards the upper position upon movement of the rack to a first extracted position, and a second state in which the actuator assembly is configured to allow movement of the rack in a horizontal direction out from the washing chamber past the first extracted position.

A lower rack for a domestic dishwasher is constructed for being liftable and includes a fixed lower rack element, and a removable lower rack element connectable to the fixed lower rack element and constructed for removal from the fixed lower rack element to thereby unblock access to a bottom area of a washing container of the domestic dishwasher.

The rack lifting assembly may further include a slide assembly that couples the lower rack to the linkage arms such that the lower rack may extend in the transverse direction.

A lower rack assembly for a dishwasher appliance includes a lower rack and a lift assembly connected to the lower rack. The lift assembly includes a gear assembly that includes an output spur gear and an input drive gear, and includes a first arm extending between a first end and a second end, the first end of the first arm pivotally coupled to the lower rack, the second end of the first arm coupled to the output spur gear. Movement of the input drive gear causes movement of the lower rack along the transverse direction between a retracted position wherein the lower rack is within the wash chamber and an extended position wherein the lower rack is positioned outside of the wash chamber and along the vertical direction between a lowered position and a raised position wherein the raised position is above the lowered position along the vertical direction.

A sliding-pivoting mechanism of a shelf of a piece of furniture or household appliance includes two pivot arms pivotally secured to a body and forming a parallel guide for a pull-out guide having at least one guide rail and a running rail. A locking mechanism is arranged on the guide rail and on one of the pivot arms for preventing a simultaneous pivoting and sliding movement. The locking mechanism has a locking pin moveably arranged on one of the pivot arms, and a locking plate mounted stationarily relative to the guide rail and with which the locking pin cooperates in such a way that a pivoting of the pivot arm is blocked when the shelf is raised into an upper loading and unloading position. An unlocking device is coupled to the locking mechanism and includes an actuation element and an unlocking element, with which the locking pin can be moved out of a blocking position into a release position.
