A vacuum cleaner includes an upright handle assembly, a foot assembly adapted to be moved along a surface to be cleaned and having a suction nozzle, a multi-axis joint swivelably mounting the upright handle assembly to the foot assembly and defining a first axis about which the upright handle assembly twists relative to the foot assembly and a second axis about which the upright handle assembly pivot relative to the foot assembly, and a detachable vacuum module supported on the upright handle assembly by the module platform.

Embodiments of the disclosure relate to a robot cleaner and a controlling method thereof, and more particularly, to a robot cleaner and a traveling algorithm of a robot cleaner having an improved structure. A robot cleaner of the disclosure includes a brush unit having a suction flow path, a body unit configured to have a driving device, and be coupled to the brush unit to be rotatable with respect to the brush unit and a redirection device configured to rotate the body unit relative to the brush unit, and the redirection device includes a rotation guide extending along an inner circumferential surface of the brush unit, a rotation driving source disposed in the body unit and generating power, and a power transmission member which moves along the rotation guide by the power transmitted from the rotation driving source and rotates the body unit with respect to the brush unit.

A vacuum cleaning utensil has a brush arranged for rotating about a substantially vertical axis. Further, the vacuum cleaning utensil has a guide for pushing the brush towards a surface to be cleaned during only a part of the rotation of the brush. During another part of the rotation, the brush is released from the surface to be cleaned.

A robotic cleaner may include an air inlet, a suction motor, the suction motor being fluidly coupled to the air inlet, and a first primary side brush configured to rotate about a first primary side brush rotation axis. The first primary side brush rotation axis may extend transverse to a surface to be cleaned at a first non-perpendicular angle.

A robotic vacuum cleaner is provided having a suction source, a dirt collector, a floor sensor, a primary brush, and an auxiliary brush. The floor sensor includes an emitter and a detector having an intersecting region. The auxiliary brush includes microfiber fingers that are spaced around a perimeter of the brush, or the auxiliary brush includes a pad having apertures, the apertures allow the emitter and detector to sense whether a floor surface is present.

A vacuum cleaner and suction nozzle thereof. The vacuum cleaner has a housing, dust collecting unit, filter assembly, motor assembly and roller brush. The suction nozzle has a bottom housing, front cover and roller brush. The housing includes a concave cavity; the bottom housing and the front cover latch together to form a chamber; the roller brush assembly and the separation piece fit into this chamber; the separation piece corresponds to a transmission component of the roller brush. When rotating at high speed, the roller brush forms a seamless and closed separation face with the separation piece, preventing foreign matter from entering the transmission component, thus avoiding reduced suction and damage due to a tangled synchronous belt or a shaft jamming a roller brush bearing.

In general, the present disclosure is directed to a hand-held surface cleaning device that includes a relatively compact form-factor to allow users to store the same in a nearby location (e.g., in a drawer, in an associated charging dock, on a table top) for easy access to perform relatively small cleaning tasks that would otherwise require retrieving a full-size vacuum from storage. A hand-held surface cleaning device consistent with aspects of the present disclosure includes a body (or body portion) with a motor, power source and dust cup disposed therein. The body portion also functions as a handgrip to allow the hand-held surface cleaning device to be operated by one hand, for example.

A rotary brush is easily attachable to and detachable from a body with less separation from the body during cleaning. A rotary brush attachable to a driving shaft rotatable about a rotation axis and including a protrusion includes a brush, a base to which the brush is attached, and a locking member that comes in contact with the base and the driving shaft to lock the base to the driving shaft.

A surface cleaning apparatus has a cyclone chamber provided in an air flow path. The cyclone chamber has a screen assembly with an outlet section, a longitudinally spaced apart distal section and a longitudinally extending porous section. The outlet section includes a non-porous member extending longitudinally inwardly an outlet section length from an outlet end of the outlet section to a longitudinally inwardly positioned inlet end of the outlet section. Vacuum cleaner head (100) comprising a bottom sole (10) and wheels (30, 35) defining the ground clearance of the bottom sole and comprising at least one suction duct (20) open toward the ground and converging from an outer edge of the bottom sole (10) toward a suction orifice (15) connected to the vacuum cleaner, characterized in that the suction head comprises a sealing skirt (40) arranged around the periphery of the bottom sole (10), and in that the sealing skirt (40) has at least one opening (45) positioned opposite said at least one suction duct (20).
