A method of sanitizing at least a portion of a medical device with a sanitization system comprising a base comprising a sanitizing chamber, a sanitizing gas generator, a primary fan or pump, a secondary fan or pump, and a controller. The sanitizing operation comprising generating a sanitizing gas pulse including causing the sanitizing gas generator supplying a sanitizing gas and causing at least one of the primary fan or pump and the secondary fan or pump to operate for a pulse period, and conducting a dwell operation after the pulse period, the dwell operation comprising discontinuing supply of said sanitizing gas and slowing or stopping said primary fan or pump and said secondary fan or pump for a dwell time.

A user assistance system of a reprocessing apparatus for cleaning and disinfecting at least one surgical instrument arranged in a cleaning basket, the user assistance system including: at least one electronically controlled display device; and a controller coupled with the at least one electronically controlled display device, the at least one electronically controlled display device being integrated in a loading station and being configured for arranging the cleaning basket on one side of the display device during the loading of the cleaning basket, the controller being configured to control the display device such that image information is displayed in an actual size and position which indicates a predetermined arrangement within the cleaning basket of the surgical instrument that is to be reprocessed.

A reconditioning apparatus for an endoscope including a controller configured to: supply an interior of the endoscope with a fluid at a predefined pressure; supply one or more channels of the endoscope and an exterior of the endoscope with a rinsing liquid to carry out a reconditioning process using the rinsing liquid; concurrently with the supplying of the rinsing liquid, determine a temperature and a pressure in the interior of the endoscope during the reconditioning process; and when the determined pressure decreases lower than a predetermined pressure: identify the endoscope as not defective, when the decrease in the determined pressure is preceded by a corresponding decrease in the determined temperature, and identify the endoscope as defective, when the decrease in the determined pressure is not preceded by a corresponding decrease in the determined temperature.

An apparatus and process to clean medical devices, such as endoscopes, that includes an automatic endoscope reprocessor system equipped with a peracetic acid/hydrogen peroxide sensor are described.

An endoscope reprocessing method includes: cleaning, disinfecting, or sterilizing an inside of a pipe line and an outer surface of an endoscope accommodated in a treatment tank; rinsing the outer surface of the endoscope with a rinsing liquid while filling the inside of the pipe line of the endoscope with gas; collecting a first sample from the rinsing liquid used for rinsing the outer surface of the endoscope; rinsing the inside of the pipe line of the endoscope with the rinsing liquid; and collecting a second sample from the rinsing liquid used for rinsing the inside of the pipe line of the endoscope.

The arrangement includes: a support structure; at least one tray including at least one fixture arranged to maintain the endoscope in the desired position within the tray; a rack arranged to support the tray; a control unit arranged to control and operate the arrangement; a user interface connected to the control unit and arranged to make it possible for an operator to indicate the type of endoscope arranged in the tray; an optical device connected to the control unit and configured to confirm the type of endoscope arranged in the tray; a robotic device operated by the control unit and arranged to clean the at least one channel in the endoscope arranged in the tray; and a disinfector device arranged to enclose the tray and disinfect the endoscope.
