SYSTEMS, KITS, AND METHODS FOR COATING SUTURES WITH MEDICINAL COMPOUNDS IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO SUTURE IMPLANTATION
The present invention relates to a suturing system, comprising: an elongated flexible suture having a connecting end attached to a needle and an opposing free end, said suture co-packaged with a pierceable container containing a medicant solution. The invention further relates to a suturing system, comprising: an elongated flexible suture having a connecting end attached to a needle and an opposing free end, said suture co-packaged with a wicking medicant transfer sponge and a frangible container containing a liquid. In some embodiments, the invention relates to a suturing system, comprising: an elongated flexible suture having a connecting end attached to a needle and an opposing free end, said suture co-packaged with a medicant transfer sponge, said system further comprising a medicant dispenser container with a liquid.
SURGICAL SUTURES INCORPORATED WITH STEM CELLS OR OTHER BIOACTIVE MATERIALS
Materials and methods for immobilizing bioactive molecules, stem and other precursor cells, and other agents of therapeutic value in surgical sutures and other tissue scaffold devices are described herein. Broadly drawn to the integration and incorporation of bioactive materials into suture constructs, tissue scaffolds and medical devices, the present invention has particular utility in the development of novel systems that enable medical personnel performing surgical and other medical procedures to utilize and subsequently reintroduce bioactive materials extracted from a patient (or their allogenic equivalents) to a wound or target surgical site.
Suturing device and methods of use thereof
A suturing device includes a hollow needle. The hollow needle has a length extending between a proximal end and a distal end and defining a lumen having an inner diameter. The suturing device further includes a length of surgical suture having a leading end and a trailing end and an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the lumen. At least a portion of the surgical suture is located within the lumen of the hollow needle. A surgical kit including the suturing device and methods of using the suturing device of the present invention are also disclosed.
Apparatus for closing a surgical site
A suturing device includes a clamshell body having a first side coupled to a second side by a hinge at a hinge end. The first side and the second side each have a cantilevered end opposite the hinge end. The clamshell body is configured to actuate between an open position and a closed position. A suture retainer is positioned within the claim shell body and is configured to receive a suture. An opening is formed in a wall of the of the second side of the clamshell body.
Surgical dissectors configured to apply mechanical and electrical energy
A surgical instrument comprising an end effector is disclosed. The end effector comprises a surgical dissector. The surgical dissector can apply mechanical and/or electrosurgical energy to treated tissue.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING WRONG-SITE SURGERIES
A system and related methods of preventing wrong-site surgeries and blade-related injuries to OR personnel, which includes a computer software system (for use on computers or hand-held devices in the medical environment) in combination with a surgical supply carrier (such as a safety blade-dispenser or other surgical sharps dispenser). The surgical supply carrier comprises at least one component, such as a label, which prevents or impedes a surgeon from accessing one or more surgical instruments stored within until after a “time-out” is performed by the surgeon or authorized OR personnel to confirm various details including but not limited to correct patient, correct procedure, correct equipment, etc, before starting the intended surgical procedure. Data can be captured throughout the medical environment (from “decision-to-incision” and beyond) to assess wrong-site surgery data (including “near miss” data) and enable a host of analytics on wrong-site surgery prevention.
INSTRUMENT MONITORING DEVICE AND INSTRUMENT MONITORING METHOD
It is judged that a relevant tool is lost at a second time point after the elapse of a certain amount of time or longer after a first time point when it is judged that the tool is not recognized at all in images; and regarding the tool which is judged to have been lost, trace data corresponding to heads-up time, which is immediately before the first time point to immediately after the first time point, is read with reference to a corresponding identifier and a movement locus of the tool based on the trace data is displayed on a screen.

Inventory system and methods of using the same
The present disclosure is also directed to a system for managing inventory within a dispenser that is configured to maintain a known inventory and is configured to transmit inventory values from the dispenser so that other users can review the inventory values. Also, the dispenser is configured to be accessed by users locally and through an internet connection so that the inventory can be reviewed.
