Mixed-reality surgical system with physical markers for registration of virtual models

An example method includes obtaining, a virtual model of a portion of an anatomy of a patient obtained from a virtual surgical plan for an orthopedic joint repair surgical procedure to attach a prosthetic to the anatomy; identifying, based on data obtained by one or more sensors, positions of one or more physical markers positioned relative to the anatomy of the patient; and registering, based on the identified positions, the virtual model of the portion of the anatomy with a corresponding observed portion of the anatomy.

Package for a medical tool with automatic tool recognition, and packing method using such a package

MOTION CONTROL METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MECHANICAL ARM AND SURGICAL SYSTEM
20230000576 · 2023-01-05 ·

The present application relates to a motion control method and system for a mechanical arm and surgical system, the terminal end of the mechanical arm is adapted to carry an effector, the method includes steps of: receiving a first control command from a first input device by a graphical user interface, wherein the first control command is configured to control the mechanical arm to move according to a first movement mode; receiving a second control command from the first input device or a second input device, wherein the second control command is configured to control the mechanical arm to enter a second movement mode; and receiving a third control command from the second input device, wherein the third control command is configured to control the effector to perform a predetermined movement, wherein the first input device and the second input device are separated from each other.

Method and apparatus for computer aided surgery

A number of improvements are provided relating to computer aided surgery. The improvement relates to both the methods used during computer aided surgery and the devices used during such procedures. Some of the improvement relate to controlling the selection of which data to display during a procedure and/or how the data is displayed to aid the surgeon. Other improvements relate to the structure of the tools used during a procedure and how the tools can be controlled automatically to improve the efficiency of the procedure. Still other improvements relate to methods of providing feedback during a procedure to improve either the efficiency or quality, or both, for a procedure.

Cutting tools, systems and methods for navigated bone alterations

Cutting tools, systems and methods for navigated procedures are provided. A cutting tool (e.g. oscillating blade, etc.) for a power tool has an optically trackable feature in a defined positional relationship relative to a cutting feature of the cutting tool. The trackable feature may include reflective material applied to a surface (e.g. a recessed blade surface). The trackable feature is be imaged by a camera integral with or attached to the power tool and provided to a computing unit of a navigation system to determine a relative pose of the cutting feature and camera. The camera may also track a patient's bone such that the computing unit may determine a relative position of the bone and camera. The unit then computes a relative pose of the cutting feature with respect to the patient's bone and provides same for determining display information and/or to a robotic controller for procedural control.

Surgical fastening

Methods of joint repair employing sutures and attached fixation devices are discussed. For example, a bone block graft procedure (e.g., Latarjet) is discussed which employs fixation devices to secure contact between graft surfaces of two bones. A suture construct, including a continuous suture loop routed through a first fastener, is secured to a first bone. Looped ends of the suture loop are passed through passageways formed in the two bones. The looped suture ends are further routed through a second fastener. The second fastener is mounted to the second bone and a sliding knot, formed in the looped suture ends, is advanced into contact with the second fastener. The suture is further tensioned using a tensioner device to secure the two bones together.

AUTOMATIC KNIFE STOP DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR FIBULA CUTTING, COMPUTER EQUIPMENT, AND MEDIUM

The present application provides an automatic knife stop device and a system for fibula cutting, a computer equipment, and a medium. The device includes: an acquisition module; a threshold module; and a judgment module. The present application can avoid the destruction of blood vessels during shaping and greatly improve the success rate of surgery, while greatly improve the robustness of the control system by increasing the strength of the force feedback signal.

Radial saw blade and hub for osteotomy

A saw blade includes a main body having a first surface, a second surface on an opposite side of the main body from the first surface, a proximal edge portion, a distal edge portion, and first and second side portions extending between the proximal and distal edge portions. The proximal edge portion is configured to be coupled to a rotatable hub such that the saw blade is held in a curved shape with the first surface defining an outer radius when the saw blade is coupled to the rotatable hub. The distal edge portion includes a plurality of cutting teeth, and the second surface includes a cutting structure configured such that a radius of an arc swept by the cutting structure when the saw blade is rotated is substantially equal to the outer radius of the first surface.
