HINGE KNEE PREPARATION INSTRUMENTATION AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A hinge knee system includes a tibial assembly having a baseplate component and an axle component. The baseplate component has an opening that extends therein from a proximal end toward a distal end thereof. The axle component has a shaft portion receivable within the opening of the baseplate component and an axle connected to the shaft portion that extends in a direction transverse to a longitudinal axis of the shaft portion. The system also includes a femoral assembly that includes a distal femoral component. The distal femoral component includes condylar portions and an intercondylar portion disposed between the condylar portions. The intercondylar portion includes a bearing surface that defines a recess configured to rotatably receive the axle for articulation therewith.

Systems and methods for generating patient-specific surgical guides comprising: capturing a first and second images of an orthopedic element in different reference frames using a radiographic imaging technique, detecting spatial data defining anatomical landmarks on or in the orthopedic element using a neural network, applying a mask to the orthopedic element defined by an anatomical landmark, projecting the spatial data from the first image and the second image to define volume data, applying the neural network to the volume data to generate a reconstructed three-dimensional (“3D”) model of the orthopedic element; and calculating dimensions for a patient-specific surgical guide configured to abut the orthopedic element.
Radial saw blade and hub for osteotomy
A saw blade includes a main body having a first surface, a second surface on an opposite side of the main body from the first surface, a proximal edge portion, a distal edge portion, and first and second side portions extending between the proximal and distal edge portions. The proximal edge portion is configured to be coupled to a rotatable hub such that the saw blade is held in a curved shape with the first surface defining an outer radius when the saw blade is coupled to the rotatable hub. The distal edge portion includes a plurality of cutting teeth, and the second surface includes a cutting structure configured such that a radius of an arc swept by the cutting structure when the saw blade is rotated is substantially equal to the outer radius of the first surface.
Surgical planning and method
Methods and apparatus for planning and/or carrying out a total knee replacement surgical procedure on a knee of a leg of a patient are described. Anatomical data for the leg of the patient is obtained, which allows the femoral mechanical axis, the tibial mechanical axis and the joint line of the knee to be determined. A planned proximal tibial cut angle and a planned distal femoral cut angle are determined. A total knee replacement procedure is carried out on the knee of the patient, wherein a distal femoral cut is made using the planned distal femoral cut angle and a proximal tibial cut is made using the planned proximal tibial cut angle.
Arthroplasty balance and gap gauge and cutting guidance
A gap gauge is disclosed for facilitating an arthroplasty procedure on a first bone and a second bone of a patient. The gap gauge may include a first plate positionable in contact with the first bone, a second plate positionable in contact with the second bone. The second plate may be displaced from the first plate by a displacement. The gap gauge may further include a balance indicator configured to indicate a balance status between the first plate and the second plate and a pin guide. The pin guide is configured to couple to one of the first plate and second plate and includes a pin hole that is configured to guide a pin for insertion into the second bone. The pin can be used to couple a cutting guide to the second bone to resect the second bone to adjust the balance status.
INTRAMEDULLARY TIBIA ALIGNMENT SYSTEM
An intramedullary tibia alignment system includes an alignment rod, a tibial resection guide and a tibial alignment jig. The tibial alignment jig has a sliding rail, a casing slidably receiving the sliding rail and being attached to the alignment rod, and a user adjustment element rotatably held by the alignment rod. The user adjustment element is functionally connected to the casing by a link element such that a rotation is converted into a pivoting movement. The user adjustment element and the alignment rod are adapted to interlock with each other at a plurality of rotational positions of the user adjustment element. The plurality of rotational positions correspond to different orientations of the alignment rod in accordance with the pivoting movement of the alignment rod.
System for computation of object coordinates accounting for movement of a surgical site for spinal and other procedures
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems, devices and methods for performing a surgical step or surgical procedure for example with visual guidance using a head mounted display or with a surgical navigation system or with a surgical robot. A computer processor can be configured to determine the pose of a first vertebra with an attached first marker and a second vertebra with an attached second marker. The computer processor can be configured to determine the pose of at least one vertebra interposed or adjacent to the first and second vertebrae with attached markers, e.g. fiducial markers.

The metallic customized patient-specific surgical instrument includes a base plate sized to be positioned on a resected surface of a distal end of a patient's femur, an anterior resection guide body attached to, and extending from, the distal surface of the base plate to a free distal end, a posterior resection guide body attached to, and extending from, the distal surface to a free distal end, and a pair of chamfer resection guide bodies attached to, and extending from, the distal surface.
