BONE REPOSITIONING GUIDE SYSTEM AND PROCEDURE
20230043795 · 2023-02-09 ·

A surgical system and procedure are provided for correcting a deformity between first and second bones using an alignment guide based on a correction factor. The alignment guide is used to insert one or more k-wires into each of the first and second bones in a deformed configuration. A correction guide is passed along the k-wires to rotate and/or translate the first bone relative to the second bone into the corrected configuration. An auxiliary correction guide can be passed along the k-wires to further rotate and/or translate the first bone relative to the second bone from the corrected configuration to an adjusted configuration.

Surgical targeting device

Disclosed is a surgical targeting device for assisting placement of an elongated guidance member in a bone. The targeting device comprises a bottom portion having a dome-shaped convex outer surface and comprising a guidance through-hole extending along a guidance through-hole central axis for receiving the guidance member. A top portion of the targeting device is configured to be gripped by a tool. Further, a surgical system is disclosed which comprises the surgical targeting device.

A method of, and apparatus for, directing an elongate flexible component with a length through a part of a human body. The method includes the steps of: obtaining an apparatus having an elongate body with a length between axially spaced leading and trailing ends and a notch through a peripheral surface of the elongate body; directing a midlength part of the elongate flexible component into the notch to place the elongate flexible component into an operative position on the apparatus; and with the elongate flexible component in the operative position, advancing the elongate body through the part of the human body and thereby causing a portion of the elongate flexible component to be drawn by a drawing surface on the elongate body through the part of the human body.

Lateral cortex penetrator

A system for penetrating the lateral cortex of a long bone includes a tubular cortex penetrator having an inner surface and an outer surface, a proximal end, and a distal end comprising a beveled cutting edge configured to penetrate the lateral cortex. A guide wire is configured to pass over the tubular cortex penetrator, and a guide sleeve is configured to surround the outer surface of the tubular cortex penetrator. A hollow extraction screw with an axial bore, a proximal end, a distal end, and a threaded cutting edge is configured to pass through the axial bore of the hollow extraction screw; and the hollow extraction screw is configured to retract into a distal end of a bore through the tubular cortex penetrator.

Guided punch for talar augments

A guided punch is disclosed. The guided punch generally comprises a strike cap comprising a strike surface, a punch comprising a distal cutting edge, and a guide rod. The strike cap defines a first cavity therein. The punch defines a second cavity therein in communication with the first cavity. The guide rod is located within the first and second cavities and extends a predetermined distance beyond the distal cutting edge of the punch. The strike cap and the punch are moveable relative to the guide rod.

SACRO-ILIAC JOINT STABILIZING IMPLANTS AND METHODS OF IMPLANTATION

Sacro-iliac joint stabilizing implants adapted for implanting across a SI joint from a dorsal approach. Methods of, and delivery tools adapted for implanting sacro-iliac joint stabilizing implants across a SI joint from a dorsal approach.

Universal wire driver

A universal wire driver attachment comprises a driveshaft forming a lumen extending along a longitudinal axis. The driveshaft forms a plurality of channels extending perpendicularly from the longitudinal axis. The attachment further comprises a plurality of primary jaws movably disposed at least partially within the channels. The primary jaws comprise a plurality of wire gripping surfaces facing the longitudinal axis and configured to grip the surgical wire. The primary jaws cooperate with the channels such that the primary jaws are constrained from moving in an axial direction along the longitudinal axis. The primary jaws are capable of moving outward from the longitudinal axis when the surgical wire is inserted between the primary jaws, and the primary jaws are capable of being urged inward toward the longitudinal axis by the securing mechanism to increase a grip force on the surgical wire.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR GUIDING A K-WIRE

The disclosed subject matter relates to a visual guide for aiding the surgeon in the insertion of a k-wire. The guide including a ring for receiving a guide wire, the guide wire extending from the ring parallel to the center axis of the ring; and, a ring attachment mechanism configured to attach the visual guide to a wire driver. The guide wires representing the trajectory of the k-wire in two orthogonal planes thus allowing the surgeon to free hand the insertion by visually referencing the guide wires and the actual trajectory of the k-wire within the bone.

Transosseous guide and method

Instruments and methods for surgical transosseous attachment to a bone include a guide able to guide the formation of intersecting bone tunnels and a passer able to pass a member through the bone tunnels.

FENESTRATED IMPLANT

The present invention relates generally to implants used in medical procedures such as bone fixation or fusion. More specifically, this application relates to fenestrated implants used in bone fixation or fusion.
