TARGETING GUIDE
Disclosed are bone screw drill targeting guides and methods for using such targeting guides that are useful in surgical procedures for correcting hallux valgus deformity.
PARALLEL GUIDE FOR MINIMALLY INVASIVE BUNION SURGERY
A surgical guide includes a body including a beveled distal surface configured to being placed against a side of a foot and a proximal surface. The body includes at least one channel that extends between the beveled distal surface and the proximal surface of the body. At least one K-wire is receivable in the at least one channel and is configured to being received in a metatarsal and a capital fragment of the foot. The guide includes a handle, and a preset angle is defined between a longitudinal axis of the body and the beveled distal surface of the body. The preset angle is between approximately 25° and approximately 30°.
BONE REPOSITIONING GUIDE SYSTEM AND PROCEDURE
A surgical system and procedure are provided for correcting a deformity between first and second bones using an alignment guide based on a correction factor. The alignment guide is used to insert one or more k-wires into each of the first and second bones in a deformed configuration. A correction guide is passed along the k-wires to rotate and/or translate the first bone relative to the second bone into the corrected configuration. An auxiliary correction guide can be passed along the k-wires to further rotate and/or translate the first bone relative to the second bone from the corrected configuration to an adjusted configuration.
Tarsometatarsal joint arthrodesis tools and related method for bunion correction
A kit of tarsometatarsal joint arthrodesis tools include a metatarsal multi-tool, a first ray multi-tool, a cuneiform cut guide, and a joint compressor-distractor. The metatarsal multi-tool is configured for securement to a first metatarsal establishing an anatomic reference for carrying out a surgical procedure and guiding a surgeon to perform the metatarsal base cut. The first ray multi-tool is configured for securement to the first metatarsal using a fixation method. The first ray multi-tool is also configured to be secured to the medial cuneiform. The cuneiform cut guide is configured for removable attachment to the first ray multi-tool and is configured to guide the surgeon to perform the cuneiform head cut. The compressor-distractor is configured to apply a force to the first ray multi-tool such that the position of the first metatarsal may be adjusted toward or away from the medial cuneiform.
Mixed-reality surgical system with physical markers for registration of virtual models
An example method includes obtaining, a virtual model of a portion of an anatomy of a patient obtained from a virtual surgical plan for an orthopedic joint repair surgical procedure to attach a prosthetic to the anatomy; identifying, based on data obtained by one or more sensors, positions of one or more physical markers positioned relative to the anatomy of the patient; and registering, based on the identified positions, the virtual model of the portion of the anatomy with a corresponding observed portion of the anatomy.
Total ankle replacement trial and preparation systems
Instruments, guides, systems and related methods for total ankle prostheses are disclosed. The instruments, guides, systems and related methods facilitate preparation of a tibia and/or talus of a patient for implantation of a total ankle prosthesis therein. The instruments, guides, systems and related methods also facilitate selection of a particular size of a tibial component, a talus component and/or a tibial insert of the total ankle prosthesis that suits the patient. The instruments, guides, systems and related methods include a tibial trial component, a talar trial component and tibial insert trial component that replicate one or more aspects of the tibial component, the talus component and the tibial insert, respectively, of the total ankle prosthesis. The talar trial component includes an articulation surface that articulates with the tibial insert trial component, and slots that facilitate chamfered resection of the patient's talus for the implantation of the talus component thereon.
METHOD FOR FUSING A HUMAN OR ANIMAL JOINT AS WELL AS FUSION DEVICE AND TOOL SET FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD
The fusion device for fusing a synovial joint of a human or animal patient, in particular a human facet joint, finger joint or toe joint, includes two pin-shaped anchorage portions and arranged therebetween a stabilization portion. The anchorage portions include a thermoplastic material which is liquefiable by mechanical vibration. The stabilization portion preferably has a surface which is equipped for enhancing osseointegration. The anchorage portions have a greater thickness and a greater depth than the stabilization portion. Then the fusion device is pushed between the articular surfaces and mechanical vibration, in particular ultrasonic vibration, is applied to the proximal face of the fusion device. Thereby the liquefiable material is liquefied where in contact with the bone tissue and penetrates into the bone tissue, where after re-solidification it constitutes a positive fit connection between the fusion device and the bone tissue.
Orthopedic plate with modular peg and compression screw
Assemblies and methods for fixation of bone or bone fragments using an orthopedic plate, a modular peg, and a compression screw. The modular peg is screwed into one of the apertures of the orthopedic plate. The modular peg may include an aperture having screw threads designed to receive the threads of the compression screw and serve as an anchor for the compression screw. By rotating the compression screw in relation to the modular peg, the compression screw may advance through the aperture of the modular peg, drawing the head of the screw toward the modular peg, and compressing the bone or bone fragments.
INSTRUMENT FOR INTRA-OPERATIVE IMPLANT TEMPLATING USING FLUOROSCOPY
A surgical instrument having a first assembly with a first radio-opaque portion providing a profile of a first portion of an intramedullary implant or canal in a bone, and a second assembly having a second radio-opaque portion providing a profile of a second portion of the intramedullary implant or canal. The surgical instrument may also include a third radio-opaque portion providing an alignment feature to provide a fluoroscopic planar check for the surgical instrument.
PERCUTANEOUS TARGETING DEVICE
A percutaneous targeting device comprises a body holding an extension. The body has a target guide holding a target pin which may be a K-wire. The extension has two guide sleeves, holding a guide wire. All wires are held in a common plane. The guide wires serve as a guide for cannulated fixation screws. The extension is movable against the body to adjust the angle between the target pin and the guide wires.
