SCALPEL FOR PERFORMING A CESAREAN SECTION
A surgical scalpel including a handle with a proximal end and a distal end and which is hollow defines a notch that encases a blade. The scalpel alternatively may include two blades, wherein the blade which is used to perform the initial is retracted during the remainder of the procedure.
CRICOTHEROTOMY APPARATUS AND METHOD
A cricothyrotomy apparatus includes a frame, a protuberance, and a blade member. The frame includes a blade guide. The protuberance extends in a first direction from the frame, and is located at a distance from the blade guide that corresponds to the distance between a sternal notch of an adult human and an anterior cricothyroid membrane of the adult human. The protuberance is sized and configured to be at least partly received by a sternal notch of an adult human. The blade member is slideably disposed in the blade guide.
Scalpel Blades, Scalpels, Scalpel Assemblies, and Methods Thereof
Scalpel blades, scalpels, scalpel assemblies, and methods thereof can be configured to reduce or even eliminate occurrences of skin bridges from skin-nicking such as when expanding insertion sites for catheters. For example, a scalpel blade can include a blade edge and a back edge, which back edge can include a pair of guidewire clips configured to clip onto a guidewire. The blade edge can terminate with a blade tip at a distal end of the scalpel blade. The pair of guidewire clips can be configured to clip onto the guidewire with sufficient clearance for slidably guiding the scalpel blade along the guidewire when skin-nicking a patient's skin and fascia around an insertion site established by a percutaneous puncture. The scalpels and scalpel assemblies can include the example scalpel blade. The methods can include methods of using any of the scalpel blades, scalpels, or scalpel assemblies disclosed herein.
Pixel array medical systems, devices and methods
Systems, instruments, methods, and compositions are described involving removing a portion of the epidermis within a donor site on a subject, and harvesting dermal plugs within the donor site. An injectable filler is formed by mincing the dermal plugs. The injectable filler is configured for injecting into a recipient site on the subject.
VASCULAR ACCESS DILATOR APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE
An improved vascular access dilator apparatus consisting of a wire, a blade with a locking safety mechanism, and straight but malleable dilator with a smooth surface having a lumen just large enough for the wire to slide easily in and out. The safety sheath covers the blade once an incision in the dermis is made, thereby protecting both the patient and caregiver.
Catheter devices, needle assemblies, kits and methods
Examples of catheter devices, removable needle devices and kits are disclosed. Also methods for accessing a hollow organ are disclosed. The catheter devices include a body extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end, wherein the body includes an elongated channel along a longitudinal length of the body extending from the proximal end to the distal end of the body, wherein the elongated channel is configured to receive an elongated needle of the removable needle device, and the body includes one or more cutting edges extending in a proximal direction from the distal end of the body. The body of the catheter devices includes one or more recesses adapted to mate with one or more catches of the removable needle device for coupling the needle device to the catheter device. Methods of using the catheters, removable needle devices and the kits are also disclosed.
Wireless tissue dissector
A tissue dissector includes a handle assembly including an actuator, a head portion including a blade member defining an aperture configured to receive tissue therethrough, and a lighting assembly configured to provide lighting to the aperture of the blade member. The blade member is operatively coupled with the actuator for rotation about the aperture.
LANCET DEVICE WITH FLEXIBLE COVER
The biological test kit is a device for drawing and, optionally, testing biological samples. The biological test kit is an array of lancets set in wells in a rigid base. Each lancet well is covered by a protective cover which when deformed permits the lancet to puncture a user or other patient. In one embodiment the biological test kit employs distinct covers for each lancet and in another the covers are formed from sheet material formed into blisters which cover the lancet.
Methods and devices for skin tightening
The present invention relates to methods and devices for skin tightening after incising or excising tissue portions from a subject. Exemplary methods and devices include tunable dressings having an adhesive layer and a regulatable layer or an un-stretched layer that responds to one or more external stimuli to contract or expand the dressing, where the contraction or expansion can be uniform or non-uniform.
Biopsy incision device
A biopsy incision device (100) comprising a proximal side (101), to be arranged on a skin surface, and a distal side (102), said distal side (102) comprising a blade actuator (103) associated with at least one cutting blade (104), is provided. The blade actuator (103) and said at least one cutting blade (104) being suspended at a pivoting point (105) on said distal side (102), such that said blade actuator (103) and said at least one cutting blade (104) may pivot around a pivoting axis (A), such that said at least one cutting blade (104) may cut said skin surface.
