Laser instrument for eye therapy

A laser instrument for therapy on the human eye, designed for surgery of the cornea, the sclera, the vitreous body or the crystalline lens, especially suitable for use in immediate succession with other instruments for eye diagnosis or eye therapy, in such a way that during the alternating use of the various instruments, the eye or at least the patient preferably remains in a predetermined position and alignment within one and the same treatment area.

PREVENATIVE DENTAL HARD TISSUE LASER TREATMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS

In one aspect, embodiments relate to a system for preventative dental laser treatment that ensures even irradiation of a laser beam. The system includes, a laser arrangement configured to generate the laser beam. The laser beam has one or more of a super-Gaussian energy profile and a transverse ring mode. The system also includes a focus optic. The focus optic is configured to converge the laser beam with a numerical aperture of 0.1 or less to a focal region. The system also includes a hand piece configured to direct the laser beam at a surface of a dental hard tissue. The system additionally includes a controller. The controller is configured to control one or more parameters of the laser source, such that a portion of the surface of the dental hard tissue is heated to a temperature in a range between 400° Celsius and 1300° Celsius.

MEDICAL LASER DEVICE AND RELATED METHODS

A laser delivery device may include a connector portion at a proximal end of the laser delivery device and an optical fiber connecting the connector portion to a distal end of the laser delivery device. The connector portion may include a capillary at least partially surrounding a proximal portion of the optical fiber, and the capillary may include dimples on at least a portion of a circumferential surface thereof.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVAL OF SKIN PIGMENTATION AND TATTOO INK

Methods and apparatus for dermatological laser treatment, e.g. for the removal of unwanted tattoos or other skin pigmentation. Removal of multiple colors with a single pulsed laser beam may be achieved using intensities in excess of about 50 GB/cm.sup.2. Methods for reducing the pain and tissue damage associated with laser tattoo removal include using a spot size of less than 2 mm with a fluence in the range of 0.5-10 J/cm.sup.2. Scanning the laser beam over an area of skin to be treated allows such areas to be treated accurately with scanning patterns calculated to promote rapid dissipation of heat away from treated portions of the skin. Multiple treatment rooms may be served by a single pulsed treatment laser by beam toggling, splitting or pulse-picking to minimise downtime of the laser.

Laser-assisted transdermal delivery of nanoparticulates and hydrogels

A laser treatment system includes a laser device configured to produce a laser beam at a wavelength in an ultraviolet spectrum to provide for tissue ablation, a lens configured to focus and direct the laser beam to a site to form an opening in a surface of the site, a valve connected to a first channel, and a nozzle that emits the laser beam and controls delivery of at least a first substance and a second substance to the site. A portion of the first channel is disposed within a first sidewall of the nozzle to deliver the first substance, and a second channel unconnected with the valve is disposed within a second sidewall of the nozzle to deliver the second substance.

A system for endoscopically imaging a first target of a patient, using a light source and a light detector, and for laser-treating a same or different second target of the patient, using a laser source, the system. For example, the system can have at least signal processing circuitry, which can include a target response signal laser-source flashing component detector and a flashing analyzer.

Device For Laser Skin Treatment

Device and operation method thereof for laser skin treatment of skin features extending along a path, in particular veins, by collaborative motion between an operator and a robotic support, comprising: a skin, in particular vascular, further in particular vein, treatment laser head having a laser beam target line, and a robotic support of said laser head; further comprising, attached to the laser head or to the robotic support where the laser head is supported: a camera for capturing skin surface images, one or more handles for handling by the operator, a force sensor for sensing the intensity and direction of force applied to the handle or handles by the operator for controlling the robotic support, and an electronic data processor configured for carrying out the steps comprising: capturing an image of skin surface comprising a skin feature to be treated; identifying, from said captured image and proximal to where the laser beam target line intersects the skin surface, the path of the skin feature to be treated; applying, through the robotic support, a transversal force, to the laser head along a transversal direction to said path and towards said path; while allowing freely controllable movement of the robotic support by the operator along the direction of said path.

Prostate treatment using fluid stream to resect prostate tissue, thereby relieving symptoms of conditions such as BPH, prostatitis, and prostatic carcinoma. A device having a fluid delivery element is positioned within a lumen of the urethra within the prostate. A fluid stream is directed outwardly from the fluid delivery element toward a wall of the urethral lumen. The fluid delivery element is moved to scan the fluid stream over the wall to remove a volume of tissue surrounding the lumen. The fluid may be combined with therapeutically active substances or with substances that increase resection efficiency. Fluid force may be adjusted to provide selective tissue resection such that soft tissue is removed while harder tissue is left undamaged. In order to gain a working space within the urethra, another fluid may be introduced to insufflate the urethra in the region of treatment.
