Surgical instrument including a drive assembly movable in a non-motorized mode of operation
A surgical instrument comprising a shaft, an end effector, a housing, a drive assembly, and a manually-driven actuator is disclosed. The end effector comprises a first jaw and a second jaw rotatable relative to the first jaw between an open position and a clamped position. The housing comprises a rotary input movable by a motor. The drive assembly is operably engaged with the rotary input. The drive assembly is movable by the motor in a motorized mode of operation to transition the second jaw toward the clamped position. The drive assembly is movable in a non-motorized mode of operation by the manually-driven actuator to permit a transition of the second jaw toward the open position to release tissue between the first jaw and the second jaw.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LASER TREATMENT OF A DERMATOLOGIC CONDITION
Some embodiments are directed to a skin treatment system that contains a laser generating device. A hydrogel patch may include a region, at a first side of the hydrogel patch, to be in contact with a person's skin. The region may contain an adsorbing medium (e.g., carbon black or any other substance that would have a similar effect) that, when receiving a laser beam from the laser generating device, results in Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (“ESWT”) being applied to the person's skin to treat a dermatologic condition such as an epidermal or dermal tissue structure irregularity, cellulite, a stretch mark, a scar, scar-tissue, a hypertrophic scar, an acne scar, etc.
Automatic irrigation-coordinated lithotripsy
Systems and methods for controlling an irrigation flow rate during a lithotripsy procedure are provided. The system includes a laser configured for lithotripsy procedure, a lithotripsy irrigation system, and a temperature sensor configured to provide input to enable control of a flow of the lithotripsy irrigation system in response to a change in temperature from the operation of the laser.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LASER TREATMENT OF CELLULITE
Some embodiments are directed to a cellulite treatment system that contains a laser generating device. A hydrogel patch may include a region, at a first side of the hydrogel patch, to be in contact with a person's skin. The region may contain an adsorbing medium (e.g., carbon black or any other substance that would have a similar effect) that, when receiving a laser beam from the laser generating device, results in Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (“ESWT”) being applied to the person's skin to treat cellulite.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LASER PULSE MONITORING AND CALIBRATION
A medical laser system for outputting laser pulses includes at least one laser cavity configured to generate at least one laser pulse, a rotating mirror configured to receive and reflect the at least one laser pulse, a beam splitter configured to receive and reflect a portion of the at least one laser pulse received from the rotating mirror, an energy-sensing device configured to detect the portion of the at least one laser pulse, an energy measurement assembly configured to generate a feedback signal based on the portion of the at least one laser pulse detected by the energy-sensing device, and a controller configured to generate an electronic control pulse based on the feedback signal received from the energy measurement assembly to generate at least one adjusted laser pulse.
PULSE FIELD ABLATION FOR THE TREATMENT OF MIGRAINES
Described herein is a method of treating migraines using PFA ablation technology which includes advancing a pulse field ablation delivery member into a nasal cavity (both unilateral and bilateral) of a patient with the pulse field ablation member in a first collapsed configuration and contacting a surface of a nasal cavity tissue with the pulse field ablation delivery member without penetrating or piercing the nasal cavity tissue surface. The treatment further includes reconfiguring the pulse field ablation delivery member from the first collapsed configuration to an expanded configuration after introducing the pulse field ablation member into the desired position within the nasal cavity, and ablating a target treatment site with the pulse field ablation delivery member in order to treat or prevent at least one of the group of medical conditions, wherein the target treatment site includes at least one nasal nerve tissue or nasal blood vessel with or without contact.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LASER BASED TREATMENT OF SOFT TISSUE
The disclosed invention relates to an improved system and method for treatment of soft tissue, e.g., for treatment of a snoring condition. The system can include a laser source; a hand piece; and a device for directing radiation emitted by the laser source to a treatment area (e.g., an oral treatment area). In some cases, the handpiece can include an optical element (e.g., a lens) mounted within a replaceable cartridge and adapted to modulate a laser beam such that it is non-ablative, prior to its delivery to a treatment region. In various embodiments, the system includes a CO2 laser capable of performing treatment in a more efficient manner than conventional techniques.
BEAM MULTIPLEXER FOR WRITING REFRACTIVE INDEX CHANGES IN OPTICAL MATERIALS
