SURGICAL DEVICE SEAL
A surgical instrument is disclosed, which is configured to be releasably connectable to a hand-piece. The surgical instrument includes electrical contacts configured to be electrically connected to the hand-piece. The surgical instrument further includes a sealing member having sealing elements. At least one sealing element of the plurality of sealing elements is formed of an elastomeric material and is configured to form a seal around one the electrical contacts when the surgical instrument is connected to the hand-piece, such that the electrical contact is electrically isolated from other electrical contacts on the surgical instrument. At least one sealing element is configured such that a force required to connect the surgical instrument to the hand-piece is not reliant on a bulk compression of the elastomeric material.
DISPOSABLE INSTRUMENT NOSEPIECES FOR REPAIRING SOFT TISSUE TO BONE COUPLING
In one embodiment, a suture anchor installation system for orthopedic surgery is disclosed including a reusable or disposable handle, and one or more reusable or disposable screw-on tool nosepieces for orthopedic surgery that are configured to be coupled to the handle. The one or more reusable or disposable screw-on tool nosepieces include an awl, a tap, a suture anchor install tool, and a suture anchor adjustment tool for orthopedic surgery. The nosepieces may alternatively press-on or snap-on with a barb/groove configuration or rectangular driver/ball/socket universal joint configuration with an engineering fit such as a running, sliding, or slip fit, a locational or transition fit, a force fit, a friction fit, or an interference fit.
Small diameter linear surgical stapling apparatus
A surgical stapling apparatus includes a housing assembly and an adapter assembly. The adapter assembly defines a longitudinal axis and is selectively attachable to the housing assembly. The adapter assembly includes an end effector and an articulation assembly. The articulation assembly includes an articulation drive screw, an articulation nut threadedly mounted to the articulation drive screw, an articulation yolk coupled to the articulation nut, and an articulation tube that is positioned to move in response to movement of the articulation nut. Movement of the articulation tube causes the end effector to articulate relative to the longitudinal axis.
Staple instrument comprising a firing path display
A surgical stapling system for stapling the tissue of a patient is disclosed. The stapling system comprises a housing, a shaft extending from the housing, and an end effector extending from the shaft. The end effector comprises a plurality of staples removably stored therein and, also, an anvil configured to deform the staples. The stapling system further comprises a firing mechanism configured to deploy the staples along a staple firing path longer than 60 mm, a camera configured to capture an image of the patient tissue, a display, and a controller configured to generate an image of the staple firing path, wherein the images are displayed on the display.
Method of hub communication, processing, display, and cloud analytics
A method of displaying an operational parameter of a surgical system is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a cloud computing system of the surgical system, first usage data, from a first subset of surgical hubs of the surgical system; receiving, by the cloud computing system, second usage data, from a second subset of surgical hubs of the surgical system; analyzing, by the cloud computing system, the first and the second usage data to correlate the first and the second usage data with surgical outcome data; determining, by the cloud computing system, based on the correlation, a recommended medical resource usage configuration; and displaying, on respective displays on the first and the second subset of surgical hubs, indications of the recommended medical resource usage configuration.
Surgical instrument including different length camming members
A surgical instrument comprising a surgical end effector that comprises a first jaw and a second jaw that is movably supported relative to the first jaw for selective movement between an open position and closed positions. The surgical instrument further comprises a closure member that is axially movable in response to closing and opening motions. The closure member comprises at least one opening cam that protrudes therefrom to movably engage a corresponding cam surface on the second jaw such that upon application of the opening motion, the at least one opening cam movably engages the corresponding cam surface to move the second jaw to an open position, even when the jaws are under a load.
METAPHYSEAL REFERENCING TECHNIQUE AND INSTRUMENT
Guides for guiding a tool into a medullary canal of a bone. The guides can include a base and a guide feature. The base can include a first surface configured to contact the bone and a second surface opposite the first surface. The guide feature can be disposed to guide the tool along a central portion of the medullary canal.
Surgical stapling device with flexible shaft
A circular stapling device includes an elongate body having a flexible outer tube that supports a reload assembly, a flexible inner cable that supports an anvil assembly, and a flexible central tube that is supported about the inner cable and within the outer tube. The stapling device is configured to access body cavities which cannot be easily accessed by a circular stapling device having a rigid shaft.
Multi-Member Bone Structure Prostheses
A multi-member prosthesis including first and second elongated members and a central member, said multi-member prosthesis adapted to be advanced into a pilot SI joint opening in said dysfunctional SI joint via a posterior approach, the pilot SI joint opening comprising a sacrum opening and an ilium opening and a sacrum opening. The first elongated member adapted to be press-fit into the sacrum opening and the second elongated member adapted to be press-fit into the ilium opening. The central member including first and second elongated member securing means adapted to secure the first and second elongated members thereto.
Control for surgical handpiece
A powered surgical handpiece including a housing, a printed circuit board, a sensor, and an actuator assembly. The housing has a longitudinal axis extending from a first end to a second end of the housing. The printed circuit board has a first face and a second opposing face. The first and second faces extend perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The sensor is coupled to the first face of the printed circuit board. The sensor is centered along the longitudinal axis of the housing. The actuator assembly includes a lever and an actuator. The lever is pivotally coupled to the housing. The lever maintains a magnet slidably positionable along the lever. The magnet is positionable to be proximal to the sensors.
