Soft anchor made from suture filament and suture tape
An anchor is provided for placement in or against tissue. The anchor includes a flat fibrous construct having a first end and a second end; and a filament having a first end and a second end passing through the fibrous construct in two locations including a first passing location nearest a first end of the fibrous construct, a second passing location nearest a second end of the fibrous construct, the filament remaining free to slide through the first passing location and the second passing location such that the filament can be removed from the flat fibrous construct from the first end of the fibrous construct and the second end of the fibrous construct. The anchor can be inserted into a bone hole and deployed.
Surgical constructs for tissue fixation and methods of tissue repairs
Surgical constructs, assemblies and methods of tissue fixation are disclosed. A surgical construct includes a spreadable web attached to a plurality of peripheral strands. The spreadable web may be tensionable and may include one or more flexible filaments or strands. At least one of the filaments is coupled to the peripheral strands. The filaments may extend from the peripheral strands in different directions and/or orientations. The spreadable web is expandable and can be adjusted to various widths. The spreadable web may be knotless. The spreadable web may be tensionable. The surgical construct may be attached to one or more knotted or knotless fixation devices.
Soft Tissue Graft Preparations and Methods of Use
In one embodiment, the present disclosure may be a method for preparing a soft tissue graft, comprising: passing a suture material through the soft tissue graft adjacent to a graft support filament at a first longitudinal location along the filament and graft, such that the suture material passes through the graft on a first side of the filament; passing the suture material over the filament and back through the graft adjacent to the filament at a second longitudinal location spaced longitudinally along the filament and graft from the first longitudinal location, such that the suture material passes through the graft on the first side of the filament; and tensioning the suture material to secure the filament to the graft along a length of the suture material between the first longitudinal location and the second longitudinal location.
System and method for transporting suture
A suture transport system is disclosure for placing a flexible member along a tunnel, the system including a means of transporting a flexible member along a tunnel from a first opening in the tunnel through to a second opening at an opposite end of the tunnel, such that the flexible member extends from both the first and second opening. The system also includes a means of capturing a portion of the flexible member at the second opening, to inhibit the flexible member from retracting into the tunnel second opening. The means of capturing includes an aperture for capturing the portion of the flexible member.
Anchor apparatus
An anchor for anchoring tensile members to bone includes: a housing extending along a central axis, with a hollow interior; a collet in the hollow interior having a central bore for accepting tensile members and an exterior surface, the collet being configured to swage around and against tensile members; a sleeve having a peripheral wall defining interior and exterior surfaces, the sleeve disposed in the housing's hollow interior axially adjacent to the collet, and movable parallel to the central axis between first and second positions; and wherein at least one of the collet exterior surface and the sleeve interior surface is tapered and the sleeve and the collet are arranged so movement of the sleeve from the first position to the second position causes the sleeve interior surface to bear against the collet exterior surface, causing the collet to swage radially inwards around and against one or more tensile members.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COUPLING SOFT TISSUE TO A BONE
A method and apparatus for coupling a soft tissue implant into a locking cavity formed within a bone is disclosed. The apparatus includes a member to pull the soft tissue implant into a femoral tunnel. The member includes a suture having first and second ends which are passed through first and second openings associated with the longitudinal passage to form a pair of loops. Portions of the suture lay parallel to each other within the suture. Application of tension onto the suture construction causes retraction of the soft tissue implant into the femoral tunnel.
SOFT SUTURE-BASED ANCHORS
Suture constructs and methods for soft tissue to bone repairs. The suture construct is a soft, suture-based anchor which is self-cinching and has a specific, accordion-type configuration (i.e., with the ability to fold from a first, extended position to a second, folded or compressed position). The suture-based anchor may be formed essentially of a flexible material such as a high strength surgical suture, suture chain, or suture.
CIRCULAR SUTURE CONSTRUCTS AND METHODS FOR USE
A suture construct includes, inter alia, a sheath and a flexible strand threaded through the sheath to configure the sheath in a circular or oblong shape. The suture construct may be utilized in various tissue reconstruction procedures. The suture construct can be connected to a second suture construct to form a surgical assembly.
VALVE LEAFLET CINCHING
A method comprises inserting a needle into a ventricle of a heart. The needle is configured to deliver a first anchoring element, a second anchoring element, and a tethering suture to the ventricle. The tethering suture is tethered between the first anchoring element and the second anchoring element. The method further comprises penetrating a first leaflet of a heart valve with the needle, penetrating a second leaflet of the heart valve with the needle, deploying the first anchoring element at a distal side of the second leaflet, retracting the needle from the first leaflet and the second leaflet, deploying the second anchoring element at a proximal side of the first leaflet, cinching the tethering suture to cause a desired amount of valve coaptation, and locking the tethering suture.
