PROSTHETIC HEART VALVE DEVICES AND METHODS OF VALVE REPAIR
A mechanism for adjusting the chordae connecting the leaflets of a mitral valve to the papillary muscles in order to restore normal functioning of the mitral valve. The devices or mechanisms can correct problems associated with both prolapsed leaflets and restricted leaflets to allow the leaflets to properly coapt, thereby preventing or minimizing regurgitation. In accordance with the invention, the mechanisms or devices used for adjusting the chordae can be delivered and implanted in a minimally invasive and/or percutaneous manner, such as via transapical methods, transfermoral methods, or trans-septal methods.

Hair grasping device
A hair grasping device comprising a handle and a grasping mechanism on an end of the handle. The grasping mechanism includes a finger having a handle end and a grasping end and a hair grip extending from the grasping end of the finger. The hair grip and the finger are moveable with respect to one another between a hair grasping position and a hair holding position and the hair grip is operably coupled with the finger when in the hair holding position.
TISSUE TENSIONING DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
The present disclosure relates to tissue traction devices and systems. In one example, a tissue tensioning system may include a filament having a first end comprising an attachment member, a second end, and a length therebetween extendable externally along a catheter. A first tissue fastener may be engageable with the attachment member and with a target tissue. The second end of the filament may be translatable to adjust a tensional force along the filament.
Hair grasping device
A hair grasping device having a handle with hollow fingers, a trigger slidably attached to the handle, a number of grips slidably attached within the hollow fingers connected to the trigger. Each of the grips has a first and a second arm, a central post, and an extended position and retracted position. When in the retracted position, the arms are forced against the central post by the hollow fingers, and when in the extended position, the arms are forced away from the central post, creating a clearance between the arms and the central post.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR WOUND CLOSURE
This disclosure describes devices, systems, and methods related to a wound closure device. An example of a wound closure device includes a plurality of base members configured to adhere to a tissue site and one or more attachment members for use in combination to create mechanical tension on the edges of a wound to facilitate closure of the wound. The plurality of base members include a first base member that includes light switchable adhesive. The light switchable adhesive is configured to transition from a first state to a second state, and the light switchable adhesive has a first peel strength in the first state that is greater than a second peel strength of the light switchable in the second state. The one or more attachment members are configured to couple to two or more base members of the plurality of base members.
Endoscopic closure device
Surgical closure devices, surgical systems, and methods of endoscopically closing tissue tears are disclosed. The surgical closure device includes a housing and a grasping member. The grasping member is configured for movement relative to the housing. The surgical systems include such a surgical closure device and an endoscope including an insertion tube and a cable. The methods of endoscopically closing a tear in a tissue include passing such a surgical closure device through an endoscope to the tear, engaging a portion of tissue on one side of the tear using the grasping member, positioning the receiving section of the housing on another side of the tear, and moving the grasping member toward the receiving section of the housing and position the grasping member and the receiving portion of the housing in a relatively closed relationship, thereby closing the tear in the tissue.
MEDICAL DEVICE AND METHOD OF FABRICATION THEREOF
Disclosed is a medical device for use in surgery including at least one structured substrate including a plurality of structures, at least a portion of the plurality of structures being a plurality of ridges having each a length that is at least 5 times greater than their width. The ridges have at least two different cross-sections and have swellable properties, for example in the presence of water. The medical device includes at least a second substrate, including a second plurality of structures, the first and second plurality of structures being arranged to interlock when the first substrate is pressed against the second substrate in presence of water.
Release device for medical tissue clips
Provided is a release device for medical tissue clips, including an outer tube provided with a release member, a control wire, and at least one tissue clip; wherein the release member is connected to the distal end of the control wire; the at least one tissue clip is movably connected to the release member and the control wire; the tissue clip includes a clip base and a clip piece which is movably disposed inside the clip base; the tissue clip is in a locked state when the clip piece is retreated to the proximal end, and in an opened state when the clip piece moves forwards to the distal end; the clip base includes an elastic member which is in a compressed state when being located in the outer tube and in an opened state upon detachment from the outer tube to abut against an end of the outer tube.
Surgical incision and closure apparatus
An apparatus for closing a surgical incision comprises left and right base panels, a plurality of closure components, and a plurality of left and right axial supports coupled to the respective base panels. The closure components couple the left and right base panels to each other laterally and have left and right ends coupled to the respective base panels. The closure components are positioned laterally across the left and right panels, the left axial supports are disposed between pairs of left closure component ends, the right axial supports are disposed between pairs of right closure component ends, and the left and right axial supports are offset from one another such that a serpentine arrangement of consecutive closure components and axial supports is formed. The apparatus can be made of antimicrobial materials or materials impregnated with antimicrobial agents. A flexible adhesive cover can be provided over the apparatus when in use.
