Described are methods, systems, devices for facilitation of intraluminal medical procedures within the neurovasculature. A catheter advancement device includes a flexible elongate body having a proximal end, a distal end, and a single lumen extending therebetween. The flexible elongate body has a proximal segment, an intermediate segment, and a tip segment. The proximal segment includes a hypotube coated with a polymer. The intermediate segment includes an unreinforced polymer having a durometer of no more than 72D. The tip segment is formed of a polymer different from the intermediate segment and has a durometer of no more than about 35D and a length of at least 5 cm. The tip segment has a tapered portion that tapers distally from a first outer diameter to a second outer diameter over a length of between 1 and 3 cm.

CATHETER PROXIMAL JOINT
20230233218 · 2023-07-27 · ·

An aspiration clot retrieval catheter to have profiled guidewire for deliverability that transitions at a proximal joint to a distal tubular section with a lumen for directing aspiration and facilitating the smooth passage of other products in performing mechanical thrombectomy procedures. The joint can have a low-profile proximal strut formed integrally with the distal tubular section and configured to interlock with a distal portion of the guidewire so that there is a smooth transition of stiffness between the guidewire and the tubular portion of the catheter to improve trackability and decrease the likelihood of kinking. The distal tubular section of the proximal joint can also have features to tailor flexibility. The distal tubular section can be configured to push radially outward to form a seal with an outer catheter to optimize aspiration transmission to the distal mouth of the aspiration clot retrieval catheter.

Guide wire gripping unit

A guide wire gripping device is provided that includes: a sheath; an advanceable and retractable part extending along the longitudinal axis of the sheath; an operation control that moves the advanceable and retractable part along the longitudinal axis; a grasping portion having a contact surface having a peripheral edge surrounded by a distal end, a proximal end, and a pair of side ends; and a support part connected to the advanceable and retractable part and fixed to one of the pair of side ends.

ATHERECTOMY DEVICES AND METHODS

Rotational atherectomy devices and systems can remove or reduce stenotic lesions in blood vessels by rotating one or more abrasive elements within the vessel. The abrasive elements are attached to a distal portion of an elongate flexible drive shaft that extends from a handle assembly that includes a driver for rotating the drive shaft. In particular implementations, the handle assembly encapsulates an electric motor assembly, a pump assembly, and a controller assembly.

Wire for an endovascular apparatus

An elongate endovascular element for crossing through an obstruction in a blood vessel comprises: a proximal section; a distal tip section of smaller diameter than the proximal section; and a distally-tapering intermediate section extending between the proximal and distal tip sections; wherein the tapered intermediate section has a length that is substantially λ/2 or a multiple of λ/2, where λ is a wavelength of a driving frequency that will produce longitudinal resonance in the element.

Systems and methods for surgical procedures using torque driven guide wire

Systems and methods for removing a material from a lumen or duct include a guide wire to navigate to the material and a cutting assembly that can then be guided along the guide wire to reach the material. A proximal wire end can be connected to a pump device configured to provide an irrigation substance along a delivery channel of the guide wire and release the irrigation substance at a distal wire end. A power source can apply a current to the guide wire to magnetize a coupling assembly disposed on the guide wire. The cutting assembly can couple to the guide wire by engaging a locking mechanism of the cutting assembly with a coupling assembly of the guide wire. The locking mechanism can receive torque provided by a motor coupled to the proximal wire end of the guide wire to rotate the cutting tool of the cutting assembly to remove the material.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANIPULATING MEDICAL DEVICES

A system for treating a patient having thrombus including an aspiration catheter having an aspiration lumen configured to be coupled to a vacuum source and configured for aspirating thrombus therethrough, an elongate member having a straight distal portion configured to extend from the aspiration lumen into a thrombus within the blood vessel, and a manipulation device selectively coupled to the elongate member, the manipulation device being configured to apply motive force to the elongate member, wherein the motive force comprises a combination of motive force components comprising an alternating clockwise motion and counter-clockwise motion.

Seeker with dilator

A seeker device for facilitating access to a desired location within an ear, nose, throat or other location in a body may include a proximal shaft, an elastic distal portion, and an atraumatic distal tip. The elastic distal portion has a default shape with at least one curve to facilitate advancement of a distal end of the elastic distal portion through various anatomical passageways, toward the desired location. In some embodiments, the seeker device may be paired with a dilator device, to perform a dilation procedure on an anatomical structure in the ear, nose, throat or other part of the body. In other embodiments, the seeker device may be paired with a flexible endoscope, to facilitate visualization of an anatomical structure or area.

Coupling assembly for variable diameter surgical instrument

An apparatus may be used with an elongate member that includes an engagement member, a hollow shaft, a compression member, a compression element, and a resilient gripping member. The hollow shaft extends from the engagement member along a longitudinal axis. The compression member is slidably disposed over the hollow shaft. The hollow shaft is disposed over the resilient gripping member and supports the compression element. The compression member has a conical inner surface including a detent feature. The conical inner surface is configured to urge the compression element radially inwards as the collar advances from the unlocked position toward the locked position where the detent feature retains the compression element. The compression element deforms the resilient gripping member radially inwards to grip the elongate member and prevents translation of the elongate member. When unlocked, the resilient gripping member moves radially away from the elongate member allowing translation.
