Surgical tools and surgical tool systems

Plate holding forceps for one-hand use are presented. The forceps are configured to press a bone plate to bone and comprise a clamp portion, including a first jaw and second jaw movable towards and away from each other. At least the first jaw includes a through-bore configured to be aligned with a hole of a bone plate engaged by the plate holding forceps. The forceps also include an adjustment portion configured to adjust a distance between the jaws. The adjustment portion includes a first handle part and a second handle part manually movable with the fingers of one hand relative to each other and configured to thereby adjust the distance between the jaws.

Surgical clamp

Surgical devices and related methods are disclosed. An example end effector for a surgical device may include a first jaw, a second jaw, and an articulating mechanism operable to move the first jaw between an open position, an intermediate position, and a closed position. An example articulating mechanism may include a first jaw mount coupled to the first jaw so that movement of the first jaw mount along a path causes rotation and translation of the first jaw mount and the first jaw. A pivotably mounted crank may operably couple an actuator linkage to the first jaw mount so that moving the actuator linkage rotates the crank, and rotation of the crank may move the first jaw mount along the path.

ATTACHABLE CLAMP FOR USE WITH SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS
20170340322 · 2017-11-30 ·

An attachable clamp for use with a surgical instrument is disclosed. The attachable clamp comprises a body portion, a first jaw member, a second jaw member and an actuation mechanism. The body portion defines a longitudinal axis and has attachment members configured to attach to an elongate portion of a surgical instrument. Each of the first jaw member and second jaw member extends distally from the body portion. The actuation mechanism is disposed in mechanical cooperation with at least one of the first jaw member and the second jaw member. Actuation of the actuation mechanism moves at least one of the first and second jaw members between an approximated position and an open position with respect to the other jaw member.

Multi-input robot surgical system control scheme

For controlling a robotic surgical system including arms, consoles, and a controller in communication with the arms and consoles, systems and methods are provided that include receiving a request for selection of a first arm for assignment to a first console, and in response to the request, determining whether the first arm is already assigned, assigning the first arm to the first console, if a determination is made that the first arm is not already assigned, determining whether the first arm is to be deselected from a previous assignment, if a determination is made that the first arm is already assigned, generating an error message, if a determination is made that the first arm is not to be deselected, and deselecting the first arm from the previous assignment and assigning the first arm to the first console, if a determination is made that the first arm is to be deselected.

Apparatus for removing a hook with a barb

An apparatus for removing a hook embedded within a tissue is presented. The hook has a barb extending from a point section of the hook. The apparatus includes a clamping device configured to secure the hook. A probe is coupled to the clamping device. The probe has a tip portion configured to fit within a space between the barb and the point section of the hook to allow the hook to be removed from the tissue.

Modular Orthopedic Clamps
20220346851 · 2022-11-03 ·

An orthopedic clamp to assist in reducing the displacement between bone ends of a fracture, and to position a fixation device, during open fracture reduction surgery is described. The clamp includes a holder to hold the fixation device against the bone. The clamp may also swivel in relation to the holder while the position of the fixation device remains unchanged. The clamp may be modular so that components thereof may be released and/or attached.

Adapter load button decoupled from loading unit sensor

A surgical device is provided. The surgical device includes: a jaw assembly comprising a first jaw and a second jaw moveable relative to the first jaw and an elongated body removably coupled to a proximal end of the jaw assembly. The elongated body includes an actuation bar movable upon engagement of the jaw assembly with the elongated body to secure the jaw assembly thereto; a release button coupled to the actuation bar such that the release button is movable by the actuation bar upon engagement of the jaw assembly with the elongated body and the release button is configured to move the actuation bar to allow for removal of the jaw assembly from the elongated body; and a lockout button in mechanical cooperation with the release button, the lockout button configured to prevent actuation of the release button.

WEIGHTED SURGICAL CLAMP
20170296297 · 2017-10-19 ·

A weighted surgical clamp is provided for removable attachment to a surgical instrument. Embodiments include a weighted surgical clamp having a pair of opposing clamp arms pivoted relative to each other, and a pair of opposing grips disposed near respective ends of the clamp arms. The grips cooperate to immovably hold the surgical instrument relative to the weighted surgical clamp, and a spring or a ratchet lock is provided for positioning the grips such that they immovably attach the surgical clamp to the surgical instrument. A weight is included on one or both of the clamp arms for retaining the surgical instrument in a predetermined rotated position during a surgical procedure when the surgical instrument and the surgical clamp are attached to each other.

Surgical clamp

A surgical clamp including a pair of jaws, which may be used to ablate or create lesions in tissue. In an exemplary embodiment, the jaws are movable between an articulated position in which the jaws are separated and not parallel to one another, an opened position in which the jaws are separated and substantially parallel to one another, and a closed position in which the jaws are adjacent and substantially parallel to one another.
