An interventional tool stepper (30) employing a frame (31), a carriage (33), an optional gear assembly (32), and an optional grid template(34). The frame (31) is structurally configured to be positioned relative to an anatomical region for holding an interventional tool (40) relative to the anatomical region. The carriage (33) is structurally configured to hold the interventional tool (40) relative to the anatomical region. The gear assembly (32) is structurally configured to translate and/or rotate the carriage (33) relative to the frame (31). The grid template (34) is structurally configured to guide one or more additional interventional tools (41) relative to the anatomical region. The frame (31), the carriage (33), the optional gear assembly (32) and the optional grid template (34) have an electromagnetic-compatible material composition for minimizing any distortion by the interventional tool stepper (30) of an electromagnetic field.
Device And Method To Locate Site Of Intramuscular Injection
Devices, kits and methods for determining the site of intramuscular injection in adult and child patients are disclosed. The device includes a top element and two legs that are configured to be fastened in a first position and a second position. When placed in the first position and second position, the device forms a substantially triangular region having a center that corresponds to the site of injection.
DEVICE FOR ANATOMICAL SENSING SYSTEM-GUIDED ENDORECTAL PROSTATE BIOPSY
An anatomical sensing system-guided prostate procedure device that includes a housing having a proximal end and a distal end. The housing may be divided into a distal housing section, amid housing section, and a proximal housing section, wherein the distal housing section is configured for insertion into the anus and retention in the rectum of a subject. The device further includes an instrument convergence point disposed between the proximal end and the distal end, the convergence point configured to allow an instrument pass though the instrument convergence point at a variable angle; and an instrument angle orienting system at the proximal end of the housing, the angle orienting system directing an orientation of the variable angle about the convergence point. Methods of the using an anatomical sensing system-guided prostate procedure device and system including the same.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR COSMETIC SKIN RESURFACING
Disclosed herein are devices (e.g., needles (e.g., hollow needles), hollow staples, articles, apparatuses, and systems), kits, and methods for treating skin and skin conditions, for example, by promoting skin tightening, such as by reducing skin laxity and reducing tissue area or volume.
IMAGE-GUIDED TISSUE ACCESS DEVICE
Embodiments of the disclosure include a tissue and/or access device that allows for adjustability of placement of a needle for accessing a blood vessel of an individual in need thereof, particularly when used with an imaging device. The adjustability originates from both angle of the needle for insertion into the body of the individual and longitudinal placement of the needle on the body of the individual. In specific embodiments, a needle guide through which the needle traverses is detachable.
NEEDLE GUIDING DEVICE, AND SET COMPRISING A PLURALITY OF ELEMENTS
The invention relates to a needle guiding device for guiding and positioning a needle-shaped device on a patient, wherein the needle guiding device has a base element and a needle guiding element on which the needle-shaped device can be guided along its longitudinal extent, wherein the angular orientation of the needle guiding element can be set in two independent angular degrees of freedom with respect to the base element. The needle guiding device has an operating element, by means of which the angular orientation of the needle guiding element in the two angular degrees of freedom can be fixed or such fixing can be released again. The needle guiding device also has, for each of the two settable angular degrees of freedom, an angle scale and an angle pointer associated with the relevant angle scale, such that the user can, on the basis of the position of the relevant angle pointer with respect to the associated angle scale, read off a currently set angular orientation of the needle guiding element in the two angular degrees of freedom.
Instrument guiding device
The invention relates to a medical instrument guiding device comprising the medical instrument, a monitoring device (2) comprising a support (3) and a medical imaging probe (4) which is arranged on the support, a screen (10), and a control unit (11) of the device which is connected to the screen and the probe for generating at least one three-dimensional image, the control unit being configured to generate at least one two-dimensional image on the screen showing a deformation of the instrument from at least the three-dimensional image, the control unit being configured to estimate a virtual path of the instrument from the deformation of the instrument for extending the insertion thereof to a target, and deduce therefrom at least one distance between the virtual path and the target.
Transperineal imaging-guided prostate needle placement
Prostate biopsy systems are provided that include a 3D ultrasound probe support configured to receive an ultrasound probe for transperineal imaging. One or more template grids can have a plurality of apertures extending therethrough to receive and guide a biopsy needle along a trajectory associated with respective apertures when the template grid is fixed to the support and the biopsy system is positioned in the perineal area of a patient. Patient-specific template grids can also be developed and produced. This system enables fully transperineal prostate biopsy (i.e. both imaging and needle placement are perineal) and eliminates the need for an external racking device for image fusion as well as needle tracking. In addition, it reduces the infection risk associated to transrectal approach.
Interventional guidance system with integrated tracking setup
A system with integrated tracking includes a procedure-specific hardware component (112 or 116) disposed at or near a region of interest. A field generator (114) is configured to generate a field with a field of view covering the region of interest. A mounting device (115) is connected to the field generator and is coupled to the procedure-specific hardware. The field generator is fixedly positioned by the mounting device to permit workflow access to the region of interest without interfering with the field generator and to provide a known position of the field generator relative to the region of interest. A tracking device (110) is configured to be inserted in or near the region of interest to be tracked within the field of view of the field generator to generate tracking data.
Transperineal prostate biopsy device, systems, and methods of use
A transperineal biopsy guide including a guide member and a displacement member supported by the guide member. The guide member may be configured to operably couple with the transrectal probe and may include a distal end, a proximal end opposite the distal end, and a length extending along a longitudinal axis between the distal and proximal ends. The displacement member may be configured to support the access needle and displace the access needle along at least a portion of the length of the guide member between the distal and proximal ends. The access needle may extend into the subcutaneous tissue when the access needle is displaced to the distal end.
