Catheter with a double balloon structure to generate and apply an ablative zone to tissue
11589920 · 2023-02-28 ·

Ablation catheters and systems include coaxial catheter shafts with an inner lumen for delivering an ablative agent and an outer lumen for circulation of a cooling element about the catheter. Induction heating is used to heat a chamber and vaporize a fluid within by wrapping a coil about a ferromagnetic chamber and providing an alternating current to the coil. A magnetic field is created in the area surrounding the chamber which induces electric current flow in the chamber, heating the chamber and vaporizing the fluid inside. Positioning elements help maintain the device in the proper position with respect to the target tissue and also prevent the passage of ablative agent to normal tissues.

Disclosed herein are inflatable balloon apparatuses for use in stopping massive blood flow from a uterine wall due trauma or disease. Also disclosed is a method for using the apparatuses.

ANTI-ADHESION INTRAUTERINE BALLOON
20180000517 · 2018-01-04 ·

An intrauterine balloon catheter for inhibiting formation of intrauterine adhesions in a mammalian uterus comprising balloon and a sheath, wherein the balloon is at least partially attached to the inner surface of the sheath and wherein the balloon and sheath, when the balloon is inflated, conform to the size and shape of the uterus and contact the wall of the uterus. The catheter further comprises a pressure control lock, clipping unit and one or more therapeutic agents which are therapeutically effective in inhibiting intrauterine adhesion formation.

HYSTERECTOMY MODEL

A surgical simulator for surgical training is provided. The simulator includes a frame defining an enclosure and a simulated tissue model located inside the enclosure. The simulated tissue model is adapted for practicing a number of surgical procedures including but not limited to transanal excisions and transvaginal hysterectomies. The simulated tissue model includes one more components and is interchangeably connected to the frame with fasteners configured to pass through apertures in the frame to suspend the simulated tissue model within the frame. The enclosure of the frame is increasingly laterally constricted along the longitudinal axis to progressively increase the confinement of the components of the simulated tissue model.

COMBINED HYSTEROSCOPIC INSTRUMENT OPERATION PROPELLER
20230000522 · 2023-01-05 ·

The present application disclosed a combined hysteroscope instrument operation propeller, which includes a propelling body that can be attached to the hysteroscope body, the instrument can smoothly pass through the blind areas such as the vagina and cervical canal along the hysteroscope body that has already entered with the help of the sheath on the propelling body, and can be operated continuously and flexibly after being sent into the uterus. The present application is beneficial for doctors to quickly, accurately and non-invasively send the treatment instrument into the uterus, which not only reduces the treatment cost, but also achieves a good treatment effect.

Surgical instrument with suction control

A surgical device includes an outer member, an inner member, and at least one locking element. The inner member is at least partially supported within the outer member. The at least one locking element is configured in a first arrangement of the surgical device to lock the inner member in a first position and configured in a second arrangement of the surgical device to unlock the inner member from the first position. The at least one locking element is configured to change from the first arrangement to the second arrangement upon coupling the inner member in an operational arrangement to a hand piece.

Fundus bumper mechanical reference for easier mechanism deployment
11712292 · 2023-08-01 · ·

Intrauterine devices and methods for facilitating deployment thereof using a bumper are disclosed. In one embodiment, an intrauterine device comprises a structure including a first central support member and a deployment mechanism coupled to the first central support member. The intrauterine device further comprises a bumper positioned at a distal end of a second central support member and at a more distal position relative to a distal end of the structure so as to prevent the distal end of the structure from contacting the fundus of the uterus of a patient during deployment of the deployment mechanism. In another embodiment, the intrauterine device comprises a bumper coupled to the deployment mechanism and configured to move from a more distal to a more proximal position relative to a distal end of the structure.

TISSUE RESECTING INSTRUMENT

An end effector assembly of a tissue-resecting device includes an outer shaft defining a window, a drive wire extending through the outer shaft, and a distal cutting tip disposed within the outer shaft. The drive wire includes a cylindrical body and a distal end portion defining a semi-cylindrical configuration including a semi-cylindrical bottom surface and a planar top surface having a semi-cylindrical cut-out defined therein. The distal cutting tip at least partially overlaps the window and has a semi-cylindrical lumen defined by a semi-cylindrical bottom surface and an open top. The distal end portion of the drive wire is at least partially received and within the semi-cylindrical lumen with the semi-cylindrical surfaces substantially mating. The drive wire is configured to drive rotation or oscillation of the distal cutting tip relative to the outer shaft.

FLUID MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHODS
20230218816 · 2023-07-13 · ·

A hysteroscopic fluid management system includes a saline source with an electrolyte concentration, at least one pressure mechanism for circulating saline to and from a targeted site and through a filter having filter characteristics back to the source, and a controller. The controller provides a saline inflow in a first flow path to the site and a saline outflow in a second flow path from the site through the filter and back to the source at a controlled flow rate. A diagnostic or therapeutic procedure is performed at the site in the presence of the saline. The filter characteristics and the controlled flow rate are selected to (1) cause substantially no change in the electrolyte concentration in the saline, (2) to prevent hemolysis of greater than 5% of filtered red blood cells exposed to the saline, and/or (3) to minimize effect on prothrombin time of plasma exposed to the filter.
