Disclosed herein are linear electric surgical hammer impact tools and methods of use thereof. The linear electric surgical hammer impact tools can include a housing, a slider, a shuttle, and a motor. The housing can define a cavity extending along a longitudinal axis of the housing. The slider can be located inside the cavity and arranged along the longitudinal axis of the housing. The shuttle can be located inside the cavity and arranged along the longitudinal axis of the housing. The shuttle can include a first set of collars and a second set of collars. The motor can be configured to drive the slider along the longitudinal axis in a first direction and a second direction. Motion of the slider in the first and second directions can cause the slider to contact the first and second sets of collars.

BI-DIRECTIONAL PNEUMATIC IMPACTOR FOR ORTHOPEDIC DEVICES
20220183735 · 2022-06-16 ·

A bi-directional pneumatic impactor for imparting impact forces to an object. The impactor includes a support structure having at least one grip member and a piston reciprocally moveable along a piston axis. A pressure control system coupled with the support structure and adapted to be connected to a supply of pressurized air. The pressure control system reciprocatingly moves the piston along the piston axis to generate forceful impacts at one or both ends of the reciprocal movement. An impact transfer assembly disposed on the support structure is adapted to be coupled with the object whereby the impact transfer assembly transfers impact forces to the object in the driving and/or the retracting directions. A control spool may be used to control the supply of pressurized air to the piston cylinder. The impact transfer assembly may include a hammer pin extending axially through the piston.

IMPACTOR

There is disclosed an orthopaedic impactor, comprising: a strike assembly arranged to impart a force to an object; and a winding arranged to receive a current and thereby generate a magnetic field. The winding is arranged to interact with the strike assembly so that, in use, a magnetic field generated by the winding causes the strike assembly to move so as to impart the force to the object.

Electric motor driven tool for orthopedic impacting
RE049666 · 2023-09-26 · ·

An orthopedic impacting tool comprises a motor, an energy storage chamber, a striker, and an anvil. The motor stores energy in the energy storage chamber and then releases it, causing the striker to apply a controlled force on an adapter to create a precise impact for use in a surgical setting. The tool may further comprise a combination anvil and adapter. The tool further allows forward or backward impacting for expanding the size or volume of the opening or for facilitating removal of a broach, implant, or other surgical implement from the opening. An energy adjustment control of the tool allows a surgeon to increase or decrease the impact energy. A light source and hand grips improve ease of operation of the tool.

SURGICAL TOOL AND FIXATION DEVICES

The present invention comprises a device and system for delivering implantable bodies for anchoring human tissue and bony anatomy. The system may comprise a housing with a handle, an advancement mechanism, a hollow shaft, and a plurality of implant bodies. The present invention also describes a fixation device, such as a dart, staple, screw, or rivet so that the housing includes a handle comprising a lever or trigger for advancing implants, and optionally comprising a second lever or trigger for a second operation. The surgical device may also include an impacting mechanism and a manual advancing mechanism for advancing an elongated body into and through bone, with an optionally reverse setting which changes the direction to retract the elongated body. The invention further includes methods for using the surgical device.

Pneumatic Striking Tool For Treatment Of Bones In Hip Operations And Methods For Applying The Striking Tool
20220000531 · 2022-01-06 ·

The present invention relates to a pneumatic impact tool for hip surgery, comprising a housing with a cylinder/piston assembly with a pneumatically driven piston and a tool holder. The impact tool has two or more handles which are arranged at regular intervals around the cylinder/piston assembly.

Orthopedic impactor attachment

The present invention relates to a portable medical drill impact attachment device. The device can be used for improving the accuracy and reliability of orthopedic surgeries and procedures by obviating a manual device such as a hammer for creating an impact. The attachment device is used for creating impact forces that can be transferred onto a bone, disc, joint, etc. The device features a housing that includes a rotary motion transformer and an impact mechanism assembly. The attachment transforms the rotational motion of a drill into reciprocal motion, and also enables a user to adjust and control the frequency and energy of the impact. An impactor tool can be detachably-attached to a quick-change tool gripper for providing an impact on a bone, disc or joint of a patient without applying any manual force.

ORTHOPEDIC IMPACTING DEVICE HAVING A LAUNCHED MASS DELIVERING A CONTROLLED, REPEATABLE & REVERSIBLE IMPACTING FORCE
20230285034 · 2023-09-14 ·

A motor-driven orthopedic impacting tool is provided for orthopedic impacting in the hips, knees, shoulders and the like. The tool is capable of holding a broach, chisel, or other end effector, which when gently tapped in a cavity with controlled percussive impacts, can expand the size or volume of an opening of the cavity or facilitate removal of the broach, implant, or other surgical implement from the opening. A stored-energy drive mechanism stores potential energy and then releases it to launch a launched mass or striker to communicate a striking force to an adapter in either a forward or reverse direction. The tool may further include a combination anvil and adapter and an energy adjustment mechanism to adjust the striking force the launched mass delivers to the adapter in accordance with a patient profile.
