END EFFECTOR DRIVE MECHANISMS FOR SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS SUCH AS FOR USE IN ROBOTIC SURGICAL SYSTEMS
A robotic system includes an electrosurgical instrument having an instrument housing with a shaft and first and second jaw members attached thereto movable to grasp tissue. An input is coupled to a jaw drive rod and is configured to move the jaw members. A strain gauge is coupled to the jaw drive rod and is configured to measure an amount of strain thereon and communicate the amount of strain to a robotic controller. A handle is remotely disposed relative to the instrument housing and is configured to communicate with the input for controlling the jaw members. The handle includes a housing having components therein and a lever operably associated therewith such that movement of the lever relative to the housing correlates to movement of the jaw members. The components are configured to operably regulate the resistance of the lever in response to the amount of strain from the strain gauge.
FRACTIONAL HANDPIECE WITH A PASSIVELY Q-SWITCHED LASER ASSEMBLY
A fractional handpiece and systems thereof for skin treatment include a passively Q-switched laser assembly operatively connected to a pump laser source to receive a pump laser beam having a first wavelength and a beam splitting assembly operable to split a solid beam emitted by the passively Q-switched laser assembly and form an array of micro-beams across a segment of skin. The passively Q-switched laser assembly generates a high power sub-nanosecond pulsed laser beam having a second wavelength.
Systems and methods for therapeutic nasal neuromodulation
The invention generally relates to systems and methods for therapeutically modulating nerves in or associated with a nasal region of a patient for the treatment of a rhinosinusitis condition.

SYSTEMS, APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR PROPERLY LOCATING ITEMS
Systems, methods and apparatus are disclosed for properly using and locating object retention wands via the use of at least one sensor located on or in the wand body for determining when the wand is capable of properly scanning a target area. In one form, a proximity sensor is used. In another form a motion sensor is used. In still other forms, both a proximity sensor and motion sensor are used. In some forms, the wand system further includes an indicator for indicating whether the wand is within proper read range, speed and/or orientation of a target area so as to confirm proper use of the wand to locate retained objects before concluding a procedure. In other forms one or more of a user interface, scanner and network interface may also be used with the system. Further systems, methods and apparatus are also disclosed herein.

Catheter Having A Fiber Optic Force Sensor With A Mirror Having A Patterned Reflectance
An ablation catheter Has a spring assembly residing between an ablation head and a proximal catheter body. Three optical fibers extend through a lumen in the catheter body. Three mirrors supported by the ablation head face proximally but are spaced distally from the optical fibers. The mirrors are provided with a pattern of reflectance that varies along a radius from a central area of reflectance. Light of a respective defined power shines from each of the optical fibers to a corresponding one of the mirrors with a reflected percentage of the respective defined light power being reflected back to the optical fiber. A percentage of the reflected percentage of the respective defined light power is captured by and travels along each optical fiber to a dedicated light wave detector connected to a controller. From the percentage of the reflected percentage of the light of the respective defined power received by each detector, the controller is programmed to calculate whether an axial or lateral force is imparted to the ablation head and, if so, the magnitude and vector of those forces.
Interventional procedure handle unit, interventional procedure master device using same, and remote interventional procedure system using same
In a handle unit for interventional procedure, a master device for interventional procedure, and a remote control interventional procedure system, the handle unit is gripped by an operator. The handle unit includes a gripper, a mode selection module and a linear motion module. The gripper is gripped by the operator. The mode selection module is equipped to the gripper, and selects one of motion modes including a linear motion mode, a rotational motion mode and a plane motion mode. The needle linearly moves with one degree of freedom in the linear motion mode. The needle rotationally moves with two degrees of freedom in the rotational motion mode. The needle moves in a plane with two degrees of freedom in the plane motion mode. The linear motion module performs the linear motion of the needle based on the selection of the mode selection module, and is equipped to the gripper.
METHOD FOR OPERATING SURGICAL INSTRUMENT SYSTEMS
A method for adjusting the operation of a surgical instrument using machine learning in a surgical suite is disclosed.
