A method and a device of adaptive EMC-EMI radio frequency signal data processing are provided. The method includes: performing segmentation and preprocessing in response to a radio frequency signal; performing Hilbert-Huang transform on signals after segmentation; calculating EMC power, EMI radio frequency energy and mode, and a radio frequency signal-to-noise mode, and comparing the EMC power, the EMI radio frequency energy and mode, and the radio frequency signal-to-noise mode with corresponding thresholds; and adaptively adjusting energy parameters of a radio frequency ablation device, or prompting a user to adjust the energy parameters of the radio frequency ablation device. Instantaneous and dynamic radio frequency plasma is qualitatively and quantitatively detected and classified according to a signal-to-noise mode and pattern recognition of radio frequency emission, and an actual state of the knife head is perceived, to performs adaptive control or prompt the user to perform an adjustment operation.
Contact sensing systems and methods
According to some embodiments, a medical instrument comprises an elongate body having a proximal end and a distal end and a pair of electrodes or electrode portions (for example, a split-tip electrode assembly). Systems and methods are described herein that perform contact sensing and/or ablation confirmation based on electrical measurements obtained while energy of different frequencies are applied to the pair of electrodes or electrode portions. The contact sensing systems and methods may calibrate network parameter measurements to compensate for a hardware unit in a network parameter measurement circuit or to account for differences in cables, instrumentation or hardware used.
ELECTROSURGICAL INSTRUMENT, GENERATOR AND APPARATUS
Various embodiments provide an electrosurgical instrument for delivering electromagnetic (EM) energy and ultrasonic vibrations for treating biological tissue. The electrosurgical instrument comprises: an instrument shaft arranged to convey EM energy and an electrical signal for driving a magnetostrictive ultrasound transducer; a distal end assembly arranged at a distal end of the instrument shaft to receive the EM energy from the instrument shaft and deliver the EM energy from the distal end assembly for tissue treatment; and a magnetostrictive ultrasound transducer arranged to receive the electrical signal from the instrument shaft and generate ultrasonic vibrations around the distal end assembly for tissue treatment. Other embodiments provide an electrosurgical generator, and an electrosurgical apparatus comprising the instrument and generator.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TESTING ELECTROSURGICAL GENERATORS
A system is provided. The system includes an electrosurgical generator configured to measure, collect and record data pertaining to a characteristic of tissue as the tissue is being electrosurgically treated. A tuner configured to couple to the electrosurgical generator includes a tuning circuit providing a load having a variable complex impedance for the electrosurgical generator when the electrosurgical generator is connected thereto. A controller including stored data pertaining to impedance values is in operable communication with the electrosurgical generator for retrieving the recorded data pertaining to the characteristic of tissue. The controller is in operable communication with the tuner for varying a complex impedance of the load. The controller configured to compare the recorded data pertaining to the at least one characteristic of tissue with the stored data pertaining to the plurality of impedance values and to adjust the tuner to one of the plurality of impedance values.
MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENT DEVICE AND TOOL FOR SUCH A TREATMENT DEVICE
A medical or dental treatment device comprises a tool retainer, a measuring coil and an evaluation device. The tool retainer can be connected to a plurality of different tools. The measuring coil can be supplied with a periodic electrical energy. The evaluation device can be connected to the measuring coil for detecting whether a tool is connected to the treatment device or which of a plurality of tools is connected to the treatment device. On the basis of an electromagnetic (e.g., inductive) coupling between the tool accommodated in the tool retainer and the measuring coil supplied with the periodic energy, a periodic measurement signal specific to each tool can be generated and assigned by the evaluation device to the tool. The evaluation device determines the phase shift of the electrical voltage and of the electric current of the periodic measurement signal.
System and method to protect against insulation breach in an electrosurgical instrument
An apparatus is provided to detect electrical contact between anatomical tissue and a shield conductor: a transformer; an alternating current (AC) reference frequency signal generator to inject a reference frequency signal to a primary winding of the transformer; a reactive impedance coupled in parallel with a secondary winding of the transformer between a first node and a second node; and a phase match detector circuit to detect a phase match between the reference frequency signal and a reflected reference frequency signal that is reflected from the secondary winding to the primary winding.
MONITORING UNIT AND HIGH FREQUENCY SURGERY SYSTEM HAVING SUCH A MONITORING UNIT
A monitoring unit which is configured to monitor a patient during an operation of a high-frequency surgery device, wherein the high-frequency surgery device is configured to separate and/or coagulate biological tissue by means of high-frequency electrical energy, wherein the monitoring unit has: measuring electrodes which are disposed in a periphery of the patient, and an evaluation and control unit which is configured to impress a predetermined measuring alternating voltage or a predetermined measuring alternating current on the measuring electrodes, and to monitor an impedance decreasing between the measuring electrodes and to monitor a time curve of the impedance and/or to monitor a temporal change thereof
Electrosurgical system
An electrosurgical system is provided and includes a bipolar electrosurgical instrument and an electrosurgical generator. The bipolar electrosurgical instrument is arranged to seal and cut tissue captured between jaws of the bipolar electrosurgical instrument. The electrosurgical generator is arranged to supply RF energy through the bipolar electrosurgical instrument, monitor the supplied RF energy, and adjust or terminate the supplied RF energy to optimally seal the tissue.
ELECTROSURGICAL GENERATOR HAVING AN EXTENDED MEASUREMENT RANGE
An electrosurgical generator for supplying power, including an inverter for high voltage, which is led to an output to the connector of an electrosurgical instrument, a measurement system with at least one measurement monitor for a physical parameter at the output or at the electrosurgical instrument, and an operation controller which controls the inverter on the basis of at least one predefined operating sequence. The measurement monitor for the physical parameter is switchable between a plurality of different configurations which differ in the measurement range. The operation controller interacts with the measurement system so one of the different configurations of the measurement monitor is switched in each case, under control by the operating sequence. By switching the configuration, the suitable measurement range is always set during operation. Apparently contrariwise requirements in relation to a reliable measurement even at high amplitudes are linked with great measurement accuracy even at low amplitudes.
COATING MONITORING DEVICE AND METHOD
Electrosurgical devices are shown with a coated electrode. Electrosurgical devices and methods of use are shown to apply a consistent delta of energy to a tissue, in contrast to merely applying energy until an ending value is reached. Electrosurgical devices and methods of use are shown to meet the challenges of applying a consistent delta of energy by adjusting a baseline value.
