The surgical drape can comprise a cover including an opening and an interior cavity defined by a flexible wall which is configured to receive a support surface. The surgical drape can further comprise a closable portion configured to close the opening and seal at least a portion of the support surface within the interior cavity. The surgical drape can further include a valve in fluid communication with the interior cavity, wherein the valve is configured to enable the suction of air from the interior cavity and draw the flexible wall inwardly to closely envelop at least a portion of the support surface.

A protective member for a medical instrument includes a body portion having an inner side wall defining an interior, configured to receive at least a portion of the medical instrument. The body portion also includes a first end and a second end, wherein at least one of the first end and the second end is configured to at least partially close the respective first end and/or second end of the body portion. The at least partially closed first end and/or second end is configured to be opened for use of the medical instrument, such that the medical instrument can pass through both the first and second ends of the body portion during use, while the inner side wall surrounds a portion of the medical instrument. The body portion is configured for use during a medical procedure using the medical instrument, for example, as a tissue protector or a drilling guide.

Sharps container

A container for disposal of medical waste is provided that comprises a receptacle with an open top. A lid is attached to the receptacle to cover the open top of the receptacle. The lid has an elongated opening sized to permit the introduction of medical waste into the receptacle. A closure flap is connected to the lid to selectively close the lid opening. The closure flap is movable between an open position, a closed position and a locked position. The closure flap is attached to the lid by axial hubs that extend from each side of the closure flap through openings in the side walls of the lid. Covers attached to the outside of the side wall of the lid and engaged with the closure flap axial hub. The container may also include a locking external cabinet that encloses the receptacle and can be mounted to a wall.

Disclosed herein are implant containers and methods for using same. The implant containers disclosed herein can utilize a single sterile barrier to contain the implant, thereby minimizing a size of the container to facilitate efficient storage and handling of implants while within a container. Further, the implant containers and methods disclosed herein can facilitate ready identification of an implant type and/or size contained within, ease of manufacture of the container, ease of assembly during manufacture, ease of use in removing the implant from the container, etc.

Medical device transportation systems

A system for containing and transporting a medical device may include a container including a bottom face and surrounding side faces as a closed first end and an open second end to form an inner portion for receiving and retaining the medical device. The liner may be extendable over the side faces to line the inner portion of the container to an outer surface of the bottom face of the container. The liner may act as a protective barrier to the container to minimize contamination when receiving and/or retaining a used medical device. First and second covers may be removably attachable to the container, over the liner, to enclose a medical device therebetween. A first cover may have a color or marking indicating the medical device is “clean”, while a second cover may have a color or marking indicating the medical device is “used”.

METHOD OF APPLYING BUTTRESSES TO SURGICALLY CUT AND STAPLED SITES

A method of applying a buttress to a surgically cut and stapled site uses an end effector with a buttress applier cartridge assembly to load one or more buttress assemblies to the end effector. The buttress assemblies each include a buttress to support a staple formed therein as well an adhesive for adhering to the end effector. The adhesive of the buttress assemblies can include a pattern to assist in both attachment to the end effector and release from the end effector after cutting and stapling a tissue site. The buttress applier cartridge can include features that accommodate end effectors having various tip configurations, including straight tips and curved or bent tips.

The communication device is operable to communicate with at least a portion of the electrically powered surgical instrument. The apparatus further comprises an external device in wireless communication with the communication device. The external device is operable to receive information from the communication device and the external device is operable to provide an output viewable to the user.

An improved biopsy tray includes a container having bottom surface and continuous perimeter wall extending upward therefrom to form a cleaning zone which is sufficient to hold an adequate amount of fluid for cleaning a biopsy forceps, and at least one specimen bottle receiving receptacle adjacent the perimeter wall to receive and retain a specimen bottle. A method of obtaining a biopsy specimen includes employing the tray of the invention.

STERILISATION CONTAINER FOR RECEIVING STERILE MEDICAL GOODS

A sterilization container for receiving cleaned or sterilized medical goods or medical goods to be cleaned or sterilized. The container includes a sterilization container lower part forming a receiving space for the goods and a sterilization container lid that can be detachably mounted on the sterilization container lower part to seal the receiving space. At least one handle element is located on the sterilization container lower part and can be positioned between a carrying position projecting from the sterilization container lid and a locking position that locks the sterilization container lid to the sterilization container lower part. A receiving region is formed in the sterilization container lid for receiving the handle element in the locking position. The receiving region is a trough like handle recess in the form of a depression projecting into the receiving space with respect to the lid plane for receiving the entire handle element.
