A retainer for use with a staple cartridge that is configured for use with a surgical stapling device is disclosed. The retainer comprises a retainer body that is configured to be received on the staple cartridge. A plurality of retention features protrude from the retainer body for releasable engagement with the staple cartridge to form a cartridge assembly. The retainer further comprises an authentication key that is configured to defeat a lockout in the surgical stapling device when the cartridge assembly is seated therein. At least one of the retention features is configured to be removed from the retainer body after the retainer has been removed from the staple cartridge.
Universal cartridge based key feature that unlocks multiple lockout arrangements in different surgical staplers
A stapling system that comprises a retainer for use with staple cartridges that are configured for use with multiple surgical stapling devices that comprise different lockout arrangements is disclosed. The retainer is configured to be releasably attached to a staple cartridge to form a cartridge assembly. The retainer comprises an authentication key that is configured to defeat a lockout arrangement in any one of the surgical stapling devices in which the cartridge assembly is seated.
Insertable deactivator element for surgical stapler lockouts
A surgical stapling assembly that comprises a stapling device is disclosed. The stapling device includes an authentication lockout that is movable between a locked position wherein the stapling device is inoperable and an unlocked position wherein the stapling device is operable. The assembly further includes a deactivator tool that includes a deactivation key that is configured to move the authentication lockout into the unlocked position prior to seating a staple cartridge into the device.
MODULARLY STRUCTURED LID FOR A STERILE CONTAINER AND FILTER COVERING FOR SUCH A LID
A filter covering for a sterile container lid, for completely covering at least one gas exchange portion, which is provided on a lid component of the sterile container lid, on an outside of the sterile container lid, the filter covering having at least two clip portions arranged opposite to each other on the filter covering, which are adapted to engage in a form-fitting manner in at least two clip receiving portions provided on the lid component, and by which the filter covering is mountable to and dismountable from the lid component without tools.
Staple cartridge retainer with retractable authentication key
A retainer for use with a staple cartridge that is configured for use with a surgical stapling device is disclosed. The retainer comprises a retainer body that is configured to be attached to the staple cartridge to form a cartridge assembly. An authentication key is movably supported on the retainer between an actuation position wherein the actuation key can defeat a lockout of the surgical stapling device when the cartridge assembly is seated in the surgical stapling device and a retracted position when the retainer is detached from the staple cartridge.
Surgical staple cartridges with movable authentication key arrangements
A staple cartridge comprising a deformable authentication key that is movable between a first state and a second state is disclosed. The authentication key is configured to operably engage a lockout of a surgical stapling device when the staple cartridge is inserted into the surgical stapling device in an initial insertion position. When the cartridge is seated in a final position within the device, the authentication key is deformed from the first state to the second state and moves the lockout from a locked position to an unlocked position.
PEN NEEDLE MAGAZINE
A pen needle magazine (10) comprising a plurality of compartments (14) each carrying a pen needle (40) with an inner thread (44) and an outer thread (46), and an inner shield (80) including an inner thread (82), the inner shield (80) being disposed in each of the plurality of compartments (14), wherein the inner thread (82) of the inner shield (80) is configured to engage the outer thread (46) of the pen needle (40), and the inner thread (44) and the outer thread (46) of the pen needle (40) are threaded in different directions.
Staple cartridge retainer system with authentication keys
A retainer system for use with staple cartridges configured for use with a surgical stapling device is disclosed. The retainer comprises a retainer body that is configured to be attached to the staple cartridge by retention features. The system includes a tool that moves the retention features between a first state wherein the retention features prevent the retainer from being attached to the staple cartridge to a second state where the retainer may be coupled to the staple cartridge by the retention features.
Deactivator element for defeating surgical stapling device lockouts
A deactivator element for use with a staple cartridge is disclosed. The deactivator element is configured to be removably supported on the staple cartridge in a deactivator position. When the deactivator element is supported on a staple cartridge in the deactivator portion and the staple cartridge is seated in a surgical stapling device, a cam surface on the deactivator element defeats a lockout in the surgical stapling device.
