A surgical instrument is disclosed, which is configured to be releasably connectable to a hand-piece. The surgical instrument includes electrical contacts configured to be electrically connected to the hand-piece. The surgical instrument further includes a sealing member having sealing elements. At least one sealing element of the plurality of sealing elements is formed of an elastomeric material and is configured to form a seal around one the electrical contacts when the surgical instrument is connected to the hand-piece, such that the electrical contact is electrically isolated from other electrical contacts on the surgical instrument. At least one sealing element is configured such that a force required to connect the surgical instrument to the hand-piece is not reliant on a bulk compression of the elastomeric material.

An actuation system for actuating concentric tubes of a concentric-tube robot. The actuation system is configured to actuate the concentric tubes from radially to one side of the concentric tubes.

A myocardial spectrometer probe and a method of monitoring the heart muscle
20230046929 · 2023-02-16 ·

The present invention relates to a myocardial spectrometer probe, comprising: at least two separate light guides (120A, 120B), insertable in a tissue, wherein a first light guide (120A, 120B) is arranged to deliver light and a second light guide (120A, 120B) is arranged to collect light, and wherein the first light guide (120A, 120B) and the second light guide (120A, 120B) are arranged distinct to each other.

SHAFT RETENTION FEATURES FOR SHAFT-BASED SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS

A surgical instrument includes a housing, a shaft having a proximal end portion disposed within the housing, and an end effector assembly supported at a distal end portion of the shaft distally-spaced from the housing. A bobbin includes a body, a proximal rim, and a distal cylinder. The bobbin is disposed about the shaft such that at least one protrusion of the shaft is captured within a track defined within the distal cylinder. The bobbin is configured for positioning within the housing such that the body extends through a shaft aperture of a partition of the housing with the proximal rim disposed on a proximal side of the partition and the distal cylinder disposed within an interior cavity defined between the partition and a distal end of the housing on a distal side of the partition, thereby rotatably supporting the proximal end portion of the shaft within the housing.

Surgical Array Stabilizers, And Related Systems And Methods

An array stabilizer for a surgical system includes a pair of arms configured to extend alongside opposite sides of a portion of an array adapter, which is attachable to a rotational instrument in a manner such that the rotational instrument is rotatable about a central axis relative to the array adapter. The array adapter is configured to extend from another component of the surgical system, such that at least one of the arms of the array adapter is configured to resist rotation of the array adapter about the central axis relative to such component as the rotational instrument rotates. The array stabilizer is either rigidly integrated with such component or is coupled to such component via a coupling device.

Drill guide assembly and method

Disclosed is a system to engage one or more tools. In the system, a drive shaft and collet may be assembled to engage and disengage, selectively, a plurality of tools. A guide may be used with the system to select various features of a procedure, such as depth and position.

Method for recording probe movement and determining an extent of matter removed

A method and system for determining an extent of matter removed from a targeted anatomical structure are disclosed. The method includes acquiring an initial representation of a targeted anatomical structure and then removing matter from the targeted anatomical structure. An instrument is then navigated within the targeted anatomical structure. The instrument includes a tracking array, and a relative position of the instrument within the targeted anatomical structure is determined by the tracking array. The method includes recording the relative position of the instrument within the targeted anatomical structure to determine a final representation of the targeted anatomical structure. Finally, the method includes determining an extent of matter removed from the targeted anatomical structure by comparing the initial representation of the targeted anatomical structure with the final representation of the targeted anatomical structure. Indicators are provided to convey the extent of matter remaining within the targeted anatomical structure.

Pedicle subtraction osteotomy guide

A virtual surgical cutting guide may have first and second slots defining first and second axes respectively. The virtual surgical cutting guide may be positioned away from a vertebral body such that the first and second axes intersect at a distal point located in an interior of the vertebral body. The virtual surgical cutting guide may include the virtual surgical cutting guide with first and second cutting instruments. A method of performing a pedicle subtraction osteotomy may include the steps of placing the virtual surgical cutting guide over the first and second cutting instruments.
