Thermosensitive bio-adhesive hydrogel for removal of ureteral and renal stones
Provided herein are methods for treating nephrolithiasis and protecting the urothelium and inner lining of the kidney from thermal damage during lithotripsy by use of a thermosensitive bio-adhesive hydrogel. The described method dramatically improved the efficiency and effectiveness of stone clearance compared to conventional techniques while providing protection to the urothelium from potentially damaging temperature spikes.
TREATMENT SYSTEM HAVING GENERATOR AND FLUID TRANSFER CARTRIDGE
A treatment system includes a generator and a fluid transfer cartridge. The fluid transfer cartridge includes a cartridge shell defining a cartridge cavity between a front face and a rear face. The front face includes an opening, and the cartridge cavity is visibly exposed through the opening. The fluid transfer cartridge includes a syringe barrel disposed within the cartridge cavity, and a handle that extends from the front face over the opening. The syringe barrel can be visibly exposed on a side of the handle. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
Cartridge for high intensity focused ultrasound device comprising piezoelectric linear motor and piezoelectric linear motor
A cartridge for a high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) device and a piezoelectric linear motor are disclosed. By using the cartridge for a HIFU device according to the present invention, a transducer module is coupled to a piezoelectric linear motor driveable in water and embedded in the cartridge, heat generated when a conventional step motor is driven is fundamentally removed, an additional cooling fan is not needed, ultra-low power consumption and ultra-precise transfer can be realized, and thus an effective procedure can be performed. A skin beauty device may include ultrasound and high frequency units, apply a high frequency to a skin to be treated so as to crack a stratum corneum, and apply ultrasound to the skin to be treated, and thus a medicament drug can easily penetrate the treated skin. In addition, the piezoelectric linear motor in which a piezoelectric actuator and a moving shaft are stably coupled is provided.
Prepuce Extruding, Cutting, Hemostasis, and Healing Assembly Using Ultrasonic Wave
A prepuce extruding, cutting, hemostasis, and healing assembly using ultrasonic wave. Ultrasonic wave is applied in extruding, cutting, hemostasis, and healing of prepuce at a conjunction of internal and external tissues of a distal part of a human body. The assembly includes an ultrasonic generating device, a transmission device and a circumcision device. The ultrasonic generating device is used for generating ultrasonic waves, is connected to the transmission device and can send the ultrasonic waves to the transmission device. The transmission device is connected to the circumcision device and can send the ultrasonic waves to the circumcision device. The circumcision device is used for extruding and cutting a prepuce and/or performing hemostasis and/or healing of wounds. In this way, circumcision can be completed within just several seconds, and immediate healing can be achieved, preventing bleeding during and after a surgery.
Devices for therapeutic treatment, method of operating a device for therapeutic treatment, and a computer program product
A device (1) for therapeutic treatment of a target (2) comprising at least one ultrasound transducer (3) for generating and transmitting ultrasound pulses to the target and at least one detector (4) to detect ultrasound waves (6) backscattered from structures. The device (1) comprises a signal processing unit (8) to select an output of the at least one detector (4) caused by backscattered waves (6). The selected output has a frequency around an even harmonics of the emitted frequency (f) of the ultrasound pulses. The device (1) comprises a processor (7) to provide an output of the selected signal indicative of a parameter of the backscattered waves (6) in the frequency band around the even harmonics. The processor calculates if the parameter of the backscattered waves (6) in the frequency band is above a preset threshold (13), and provides an alert signal (9) when the parameter exceeds the threshold (13).

A surgical instrument comprising a waveguide, an end effector, and an electrical switch is disclosed. The waveguide comprises a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the proximal end is configured to couple to an ultrasonic transducer and one output of a radio frequency (RF) generator. The end effector may comprise an ultrasonic blade and a clamp arm. The ultrasonic blade is mechanically coupled to the distal end of the waveguide and electrically coupled to the waveguide. The clamp arm comprises a movable jaw member electrically coupled to another output of the RF generator. The electrical switch is operable to cause the surgical instrument to deliver electrical current from the RF generator to the movable jaw member for a first period, and to cause the surgical instrument to deliver ultrasonic energy to the ultrasonic blade for a second period.
Device system and method for tissue displacement or separation
A tissue displacement/separation device includes a seamless bladder constructed of a biodegradable polymer. The bladder is expandable from a collapsed or rolled state for insertion into a body between a first and second tissue to an expanded state for separating the first and second tissue.
Shielding features for ultrasonic blade of a surgical instrument
An apparatus comprises a body, a shaft assembly, an end effector, and a shield member. The shaft assembly extends distally from the body. The end effector is located at a distal end of the shaft assembly. The end effector comprises an ultrasonic blade and a clamp arm. The ultrasonic blade is configured to vibrate at an ultrasonic frequency. The clamp arm is movable toward the ultrasonic blade to compress tissue against the ultrasonic blade. The shield member is selectively movable from a first position to a second position in response to movement of the clamp arm toward the ultrasonic blade. The shield member is configured cover at least a first portion of the ultrasonic blade in the first position. The shield member is configured to uncover the first portion of the ultrasonic blade in the second position.
