Surgical Array Stabilizers, And Related Systems And Methods

An array stabilizer for a surgical system includes a pair of arms configured to extend alongside opposite sides of a portion of an array adapter, which is attachable to a rotational instrument in a manner such that the rotational instrument is rotatable about a central axis relative to the array adapter. The array adapter is configured to extend from another component of the surgical system, such that at least one of the arms of the array adapter is configured to resist rotation of the array adapter about the central axis relative to such component as the rotational instrument rotates. The array stabilizer is either rigidly integrated with such component or is coupled to such component via a coupling device.

Drill guide assembly and method

Disclosed is a system to engage one or more tools. In the system, a drive shaft and collet may be assembled to engage and disengage, selectively, a plurality of tools. A guide may be used with the system to select various features of a procedure, such as depth and position.

Drill bit data management for penetration-monitoring drill

Embodiments directed to an apparatus and system of monitoring an instrument with a working tool engaged thereby. In one aspect, an embodiment including a working tool with a machine readable indicium indicative of a working tool attribute. The working tool may be receivable by an instrument such that a corresponding machine readable indicia reader receives an identifier of the working tool. Various attributes and conditions in relation to the instrument and working tool received thereby may be identified to facilitate the provisioning of a response to prompt various corrective actions. In this regard, a controller may provide an output in response to a received identifier of a working tool and an identified instrument operating condition.

A Robotic control system has a wand, which emits multiple narrow beams of light, which fall on a light sensor array, or with a camera, a surface, defining the wand's changing position and attitude which a computer uses to direct relative motion of robotic tools or remote processes, such as those that are controlled by a mouse, but in three dimensions and motion compensation means and means for reducing latency.

Electrosurgical mapping tools and methods

A method and apparatus for treating tissue are disclosed, including intra-operative mapping of a probe ablation zone. The method uses a system that maps the proximal and distal margins of the probe ablation zone using tools that access the ablation target. In some embodiments, the tools comprise a bone drill, and an introducer assembly, including a cannula and a stylet. The tools have features or markings that cooperate to indicate which probe to use to achieve the desired ablation. The method further facilitates planning probe placement for delivering energy to treat (ablate) a desired ablation volume of a target tissue by using a system that maps both the target tissue and possible probe ablation zones.

Intramedullary fixation devices

An internal intramedullary fixation device for the stabilization of bone in arthrodesis and fractures of the foot and hand is disclosed. During implantation in medullary canals of bones, the device grasps the edges of the canals, stabilizing the bones, internally, during a healing process. The intramedullary fixation device comprises arrow-shaped proximal and distal heads comprising tips and a pairs of wings, the heads being sized to fit within an intramedullary canal of a bone. The intramedullary fixation device also comprises a rigid body defining a longitudinal axis connecting the proximal and distal heads. The rigid body comprises an intermediate portion, a distal neck portion connecting the rigid body to the distal head, and a proximal neck portion connecting the rigid body to the proximal head, the neck portions having a cross-sectional area smaller than a cross-section area of the intermediate portion.

Device with an open cell element

Medical devices are disclosed. For example, a medical device includes an elongated member. The medical device includes a hole forming surface along a portion of the elongated member. The medical device includes an open cell element in physical communication with the elongated member. The open cell element is configured to house at least a first portion of a biocompatible substance.

Surgical instrument with real time navigation assistance

Navigation assistance systems and methods for use with a surgical instrument to assist in navigation of a surgical instrument during an operation. The system may include sensors that may observe the patient to generate positioning data regarding the relative position of the surgical instrument and the patient. The system may retrieve imaging data regarding the patient and correlate the imaging data to the positioning data. In turn, the position of the surgical instrument relative to the imaging data may be provided and used to generate navigation date (e.g., position, orientation, trajectory, or the like) regarding the surgical instrument.

Medical continuum robot extraction and methods thereof

The subject disclosure is directed to an articulated medical device having a sensor for detecting outside movements applied upon the medical device while in a subject or patient, wherein the device is capable of maneuvering within the subject or patient while taking the outsides movements into consideration.
