Staple instrument comprising a firing path display
A surgical stapling system for stapling the tissue of a patient is disclosed. The stapling system comprises a housing, a shaft extending from the housing, and an end effector extending from the shaft. The end effector comprises a plurality of staples removably stored therein and, also, an anvil configured to deform the staples. The stapling system further comprises a firing mechanism configured to deploy the staples along a staple firing path longer than 60 mm, a camera configured to capture an image of the patient tissue, a display, and a controller configured to generate an image of the staple firing path, wherein the images are displayed on the display.
MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY LASER GUIDE
Various embodiments of a surgical instrument are disclosed. The surgical instrument includes a handle, a working element extending from the handle configured to be positioned internal of a target site while the handle is external to the target site, and a laser guide configured to generate at least one emitted marker. The emitted marker corresponds to movement of the working element internal of the target site. Various embodiments of methods using the surgical instrument are also disclosed.
ACTIVATION OF ENERGY DEVICES
Various systems and methods for controlling the activation of energy surgical instruments are disclosed. An advance energy surgical instrument, such an electrosurgical instrument or an ultrasonic surgical instrument, can include one or more sensor assemblies for detecting the state or position of the end effector, arm, or other components of the surgical instrument. A control circuit can be configured to control the activation of the surgical instrument according to the state or position of the components of the surgical instrument.
Mixed-reality surgical system with physical markers for registration of virtual models
An example method includes obtaining, a virtual model of a portion of an anatomy of a patient obtained from a virtual surgical plan for an orthopedic joint repair surgical procedure to attach a prosthetic to the anatomy; identifying, based on data obtained by one or more sensors, positions of one or more physical markers positioned relative to the anatomy of the patient; and registering, based on the identified positions, the virtual model of the portion of the anatomy with a corresponding observed portion of the anatomy.
Automatic Alignment of a Contrast Enhancement System
An apparatus and method for insuring the proper alignment of a defected vein pattern and a projected vein pattern are disclosed. The apparatus enhances the visual appearance of veins so that an error that can lead to improper patient care or injury can be avoided.
Method of hub communication with surgical instrument systems
A method for adjusting the operation of a surgical instrument using machine learning in a surgical suite is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of gathering data during surgical procedures, wherein the surgical procedures include the use of a surgical instrument, analyzing the gathered data to determine an appropriate operational adjustment of the surgical instrument, and adjusting the operation of the surgical instrument to improve the operation of the surgical instrument.
State assessment system, diagnosis and treatment system, and method for operating the diagnosis and treatment system
A state assessment system, a diagnosis and treatment system and a method for operating the diagnosis and treatment system are disclosed. An oscillator model converts a physiological signal of a subject into a defined feature image. A classification model analyzes state information of the subject based on the feature image. An analysis model outputs a treatment suggestion for the subject based on the state information of the subject. An AR projection device projects acupoint positions of a human body onto the subject, for the subject to be treated based on the treatment suggestion.
Spinal surgery system and methods of use
A method for surgically treating a spine comprising the steps of: pre-operatively imaging vertebral tissue; displaying a first image of a surgical treatment configuration for the vertebral tissue from a mixed reality display and/or a second image of a surgical strategy for implementing the surgical treatment configuration with the vertebral tissue from the mixed reality display; determining a surgical plan for implementing the surgical strategy; and intra-operatively displaying a third image of the surgical plan with the vertebral tissue from the mixed reality display. Systems, spinal constructs, implants and surgical instruments are disclosed.
ANATOMICAL SCANNING, TARGETING, AND VISUALIZATION
A method for visualizing and targeting anatomical structures inside a patient utilizing a handheld screen device may include grasping the handheld screen device and manipulating a position of the handheld screen device relative to the patient. The handheld screen device may include a camera and a display. The method may also include orienting the camera on the handheld screen device relative to an anatomical feature of the patient by manipulating the position of the handheld screen device relative to the patient, capturing first image data of light reflecting from a surface of the anatomical feature with the camera on the handheld screen device, and comparing the first image data with a pre-operative 3-D image of the patient to determine a location of an anatomical structure located inside the patient and positioned relative to the anatomical feature of the patient.
Projection Scanning System
Imaging systems projecting augmented information on a physical object that at a minimum include a processor, a memory device operably connected to the processor, a projector operably coupled to the processor, and a distance-measuring device operably connected to the processor. The memory device stores augmented image information, and the processor is configured to project augmented image information onto the physical object. The distance-measuring device is configured to measure the distance to the physical object. The processor uses distance measurement information from the distance measuring device to adjust scaling of the augmented image information. The processor provides the scale adjusted augmented image information to the projector. System can also be used for fluorescence imaging during open surgery, for endoscopic fluorescence imaging and for registration of surgical instruments.
