PERCUTANEOUS MEDICAL DEVICE NAVIGATION SYSTEM
A medical device navigation system includes a medical device assembly and a navigation device. The medical device assembly includes an adhesive patch configured to adhere to an outer surface of a patient and a tracking assembly coupled to the adhesive patch. The tracking assembly includes one or more reference markers. The navigation device is configured to receive image data representing one or more images from an imaging device. The one or more images indicate a relative position between the one or more reference markers and a treatment site in the patient. The navigation device is configured to determine, based on the image data, a percutaneous insertion path for an injection needle from an insertion point to the treatment site of the patient and output one or more parameters corresponding to the percutaneous insertion path.
PLANNING AND NAVIGATION IN SUPERSELECTIVE DRUG DELIVERY VIA THE TRACHEOBRONCHIAL AIRWAY
Devices, systems, and methods for localized delivery of a chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, or targeted drug/biologic therapy to a target tissue area of an internal body organ of a patient. Computer systems may be used for planning and navigation in super selective drug delivery via a tracheobronchial airway. A catheter may be used to form a sealed treatment chamber in a natural lumen extending through the target tissue area. Air is purged from the chamber, which is then filled with a liquid drug solution for an adequate treatment session time, solution volume and drug concentration to saturate the target tissue area, thereby providing the treatment. The liquid drug solution may be circulated or recirculated through the chamber or maintained stationary therewithin to saturate the target tissue area. The chamber is evacuated at the end of the treatment session.
Systems and methods for therapeutic nasal neuromodulation
The invention generally relates to systems and methods for therapeutically modulating nerves in or associated with a nasal region of a patient for the treatment of a rhinosinusitis condition.
System and method for providing surgical guidance based on polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography
Systems and methods are provided for identifying a suitable surgical location and/or trajectory for proceeding with a surgical procedure based on local polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography imaging (PS-OCT). PS-OCT images are obtained of a tissue region and are processed to provide a spatial map of anisotropic structure within the tissue region. The anisotropic structure is processed to determine one or more suitable surgical locations and/or trajectories for avoiding or reducing damage to local anisotropic tissue structure identified within the tissue region. The spatial map of the anisotropic structure is registered with pre-operative volumetric image data identifying anisotropic tissue structure within a second tissue region that is larger than the tissue region imaged by PS-OCT.
Systems and methods for therapeutic nasal neuromodulation
The invention generally relates to systems and methods for therapeutically modulating nerves in or associated with a nasal region of a patient for the treatment of a rhinosinusitis condition.
LIPOSUCTION CANNULA WITH IMAGING MEANS
The cannula (1) comprises a tube (2) with a front end (4) at which there is provided at least one suction opening (10), and with a back end (3) intended to be connected to a source of vacuum; in the tube (2) there being defined at least one longitudinal flow conduit (8, 9) for the aspirated material; and an imaging apparatus (11, 12) capable of supplying first signals or data allowing the generation of a visual representation of the environment in close proximity to the front end of the tube (2) of the cannula (1) down to a first depth or distance, and second signals or data allowing the generation of a visual representation of the environment around the front end of the tube (2) of the cannula (1) down to a second depth or distance, greater than the said first depth or distance.
AUTOMATED AUTOPSY SYSTEM
A medical navigation system is provided for performing at least part of an assessment of a non-living body. The medical navigation system comprises a positioning device having a positioning arm with an end effector at the end of the positioning arm, an imaging device coupled to the end effector, and a controller electrically coupled to the positioning device and the imaging device. The controller has a processor coupled to a memory and a display. The controller is configured to generate a signal to move the positioning arm to position the imaging device through a range of motion to perform a scan of a surface of the body and receive and save as data in the memory signals generated by the imaging device during the range of motion.
Fluorescence or auto-fluorescence trigger or triggers
One or more triggers, fluorescence or auto-fluorescence triggers, NIRAF triggers, methods of using triggers, fiber optic rotary joints (FORJ), free space beam combiners, OCT, SEE and/or fluorescence devices and systems for use therewith, methods of using and/or manufacturing same and storage mediums are provided. One or more embodiments using one or more triggers achieve structural compactness and/or high-speed acquisition while avoiding or reducing the need for high computational power. One or more embodiments use one or more triggers, one or more fluorescence triggers, one or more auto-fluorescence triggers, or NIRAF triggers, and/or one or more rotary joints, for performing pullback and/or image recording. Examples of optical applications that may involve the use of a trigger, fluorescence/auto-fluorescence trigger or NIRAF trigger, and/or a fiber optic rotary joint, include imaging, evaluating and characterizing/identifying biological objects or tissue, such as, but not limited to, for gastro-intestinal, otolaryngologic, cardio and/or ophthalmic applications.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEDICAL PROCEDURES USING OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY SENSING
A system for performing a minimally invasive procedure comprises a flexible catheter with a lumen extending therethrough. The system also comprises an elongate instrument sized for passage through the lumen and an optical coherence tomographic sensor coupled to the elongate instrument. The system also comprises a control system that includes one or more processors. The control system is configured to receive sensor data from the optical coherence tomographic sensor, profile a tissue based on the received sensor data, generate an output signal based on the profiled tissue, and based on receipt of the output signal, generate a command to indicate or affect movement of the elongate instrument.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING A POSE OF AT LEAST ONE OBJECT IN AN OPERATING THEATRE
The invention relates to a method and a system for determining a pose of at least one object in an operating theatre, in a reference coordinate system of a pose detection device of a surgical microscope, involving the determination of the pose of the object by way of a movably arranged microscope-external pose detection device in a first coordinate system, the first coordinate system being a coordinate system that is arranged to be stationary relative to the operating theatre, the determination of the pose of the reference coordinate system by the non-stationary microscope-external pose detection device in the first coordinate system, and the transformation of the pose of the object from the first coordinate system into the reference coordinate system of the pose detection device of the surgical microscope.
