Oximetry probe with tissue depth analysis
An oximeter probe includes a probe unit or a base unit and a probe tip where the probe tip has a number of sources and detectors that can be accessed individually or in differing combinations for measuring tissue oxygen saturation at different tissue depth in tissue. A processor of the oximeter probe controls a multiplexer that is coupled to the detectors for selectively collecting measurement information from the detectors via the multiplexer. The oximeter probe is user programmable via one or more input devices on the oximeter probe for selecting the particular sources and detectors to collect measurement information from by the processor.
Integrated receiver for continuous analyte sensor
A system is provided for monitoring glucose in a host, including a continuous glucose sensor that produces a data stream indicative of a host's glucose concentration and an integrated receiver that receives the data stream from the continuous glucose sensor and calibrates the data stream using a single point glucose monitor that is integral with the integrated receiver. The integrated receiver obtains a glucose value from the single point glucose monitor, calibrates the sensor data stream received from the continuous glucose sensor, and displays one or both of the single point glucose measurement values and the calibrated continuous glucose sensor values on the user interface.
Sterile sheath for confocal endomicroscopy scanner probe
A sterile sheath and methods for enclosing a confocal endomicroscopy (CEM) scanner probe with the sterile sheath are provided. The scanner probe includes a probe shaft, a probe tip, a probe body, and a probe umbilical. The sterile sheath for enclosing the CEM scanner probe includes a sheath tube configured to receive the probe shaft and has a distal tube end, a proximal tube end, a sheath tip mounted at the distal tube end of the sheath tube, and a sheath socket configured to receive the probe body. The sheath socket has a distal socket end and a proximal socket end. The proximal tube end of the sheath tube is fixed to the sheath socket at the distal socket end. The sterile sheath further includes a sheath lock ring and a sheath drape mounted on the sheath socket at the proximal socket end with the sheath lock ring.
Needle protective device for subcutaneous sensors
An introducer is provided for introducing a sensor into the body of a patient. The introducer connects to a sensor hub. When the sensor hub and introducer are connected, the introducer needle is exposed. When the sensor hub and introducer are disconnected, a needle cover and the needle move with respect to each other so that the needle cover substantially covers the needle, protecting a user from being injured by the needle.
Water resistant connector for noninvasive patient monitor
Systems and methods are provided for water resistant connectors. A male connector includes a rib or a draft angle that creates a seal when engaged with a female connector. A male connector includes an overmold that includes or is made of a thermoplastic elastomer. Male or female connectors include molds that include or are made of a thermoplastic polymer, such as polypropylene. A female connector includes spring contacts that fit within individual pockets of the female connector.
Temperature measurement
An apparatus is provided for receiving an indication of a temperature measurement made at a site on a body, the first measurement being of a first type; receiving an indication of an electrical measurement of one or more electrical characteristics made at the site where the temperature measurement was made; determining, based at least in part on the measurement of the one or more electrical characteristics, the site on the body where the temperature measurement was made; associating the measured temperature with the determined site. A method and a computer program product are also provided.
COVER FOR A PROBE OF A CONTACT OPHTHALMOLOGICAL APPARATUS
A disposable biocompatible (and preferably hypoallergenic) flexible cover for use with a tip of a probe of a contact ophthalmological instrument. The outer surface of the tip (at the closed end) of the cover is configured to match the surface of the cornea, while its inner surface is preferably dimensioned to be substantially congruent with the surface of the tip of the probe with which the cover is used. A method for use of the same.
Probe cover for a handheld oximetry probe
A sleeve or sheath includes a body having a top opening. The body covers a handheld oximeter probe or a portion of the probe. The sleeve has a shape that approximately matches the oximeter probe or portion of the probe, which is covered by the sleeve. The sleeve has a top opening that allows a user to slide the oximeter probe into the sleeve. The sleeve is transparent to radiation emitted and collected by the oximeter probe. The sleeve is formed of a material that prevents patient tissue, fluid, viruses, bacteria, and fungus from contacting the covered portions of the oximeter probe. The sleeve leaves the probe relatively sterile after use so that little or no clearing of the probe is required for a subsequent use, such as when the probe is covered with a new, unused sleeve.
Medical device placement system and a method for its use
A system and method for locating a medical device within a body uses wireless technology to transmit the information obtained from the sensors to a mobile device or other computing system. A software application on the mobile device or computing system can be used to display the information, wherein the user can control the display without needing to contact any items that are not sterile.
Camera Drape
Provided is a camera drape which enables easy replacement of a rigid endoscope during a surgical operation while suppressing deterioration in the quality of video. A camera drape comprises: a spacer that is arranged between an endoscope-side lens of a rigid endoscope and a camera-side lens of a camera head; and a drape body that is attached to the spacer and covers, among the rigid endoscope and the camera head, only the camera head. The spacer includes a clamping plate having a through hole that faces the endoscope-side lens and the camera-side lens in a state where the spacer is clamped between an eyepiece unit for supporting the endoscope-side lens and an endoscope connection unit for supporting the camera-side lens.
