Determining the Risk of Opioid-Related Adverse Events Based on Pupillary Measurements
20230053166 · 2023-02-16 ·

The disclosure provides methods of managing opioid therapy, particularly, for pain management. The methods comprise determining in a subject, for example, a subject who has received an opioid treatment, pupillary unrest in ambient light (PUAL). Low values of PUAL can be used to identify patients at risk for opioid side-effects, such as opioid-related respiratory depression (OIRD), and who warrant attention to prevent such side effects. Accordingly, the methods include monitoring the patients having low values of PUAL for signs of adverse side-effects and/or limiting or avoiding administration of opioids.

A wireless, patient-worn, physiological sensor configured to, among other things, help manage a patient that is at risk of forming one or more pressure ulcers is disclosed. According to an embodiment, the sensor includes a base having a top surface and a bottom surface. The sensor also includes a substrate layer including conductive tracks and connection pads, a top side, and a bottom side, where the bottom side of the substrate layer is disposed above the top side of the base. Mounted on the substrate layer are a processor, a data storage device, a wireless transceiver, an accelerometer, and a battery. In use, the sensor senses a patient's motion and wirelessly transmits information indicative of the sensed motion to, for example, a patient monitor. The patient monitor receives, stores, and processes the transmitted information.

Patient monitor screen aggregation

A remote interface system according to some embodiments includes one or more patient monitoring devices having one or more sensors for patient monitoring, one or more first processors to receive information from the sensors and generate patient data based thereon, a web server, a first communication system, and a first screen to display a representation of at least a first portion of the patient data, and a remote interface device including a second communication system, a second screen, one or more second processors, an application executed by the one or more second processors and configured to detect a presence of the first communication system, establish a communication link between the first and second communication systems, establish a reliable connection channel (e.g. secure websocket connection) with the web server, receive the patient data via the connection, and display at least a second portion of the patient data on the second screen.

Mobility analysis

A method, a structure, and a computer system for assessing user mobility. The exemplary embodiments may include collecting mobility data corresponding to a user and extracting one or more low level features from the mobility data. The exemplary embodiments may further include extracting one or more clinical level features from the low level features and assessing one or more health conditions of the user based on applying one or more models to the one or more clinical level features.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ENHANCING INFECTION DETECTION AND MONITORING THROUGH DECOMPOSED PHYSIOLOGICAL DATA

Systems and methods for enhancing infection detection and monitoring through decomposed physiological data are disclosed. An example method includes receiving, from a wearable device of a user, physiological data of the user and decomposing the physiological data, by applying a heart rate algorithm, to generate one or more physiological parameters. The example method further includes analyzing, by applying the heart rate algorithm, the one or more physiological parameters to output a period classification, and determining whether or not the period classification is indicative of an infection. The example method further includes, responsive to determining that the period classification is indicative of the infection, displaying, in a user interface, a warning to the user that indicates the infection, and receiving, from the wearable device of the user, additional physiological data of the user to monitor the infection.

Disclosed herein is a system for monitoring urine output of a patient. The system includes a collection canister coupled with a display module, the canister having a volume sensor to measure urine output, the measurement may be displayed or transmitted over a network. The system links an identification of the canister to an identification of the patient. A drainage tube is pre-coupled with the canister, and optionally, with the catheter, to define a closed system enclosed in a sterile preconnected tray. The volume sensor includes an ultrasonic sensor configured to detect a distance between the urine level and the top of the canister which is converted into a volume of urine within the canister. The display module is coupled with canister. The canister and the display module each include a console that includes logic stored in memory that, when executed by one or more processors, causes performance of operations.

Systems and methods for detecting data acquisition conditions using color-based penalties

Systems and methods for detecting data acquisition conditions using color-based penalties can include a computing device obtaining a sequence of images acquired by a photodetector. The computing device can determine, for each pixel position of a plurality of pixel positions associated with the sequence of images, a respective penalty score indicative of a similarity between a color value of a pixel of the pixel position and a desired color value. The desired color value can represent a color property of light emitted from body parts of users when placed opposite to the photodetector. The computing device can determine, using penalty scores of the plurality of pixel positions, a relative position of a body part of a user with respect to a desired position.
