Smart oscillating positive expiratory pressure device with feedback indicia

A respiratory therapy device having a diagonal feedback array, and methods for the user thereof.

Flow sensor for ventilation

A flow sensor system for ventilation treatment comprises a flow conduit configured to allow gas flow between a first region and a second region, the flow conduit defining a lumen for the gas flow; a flow restrictor disposed within the lumen of the flow conduit between the first region and the second region; a first absolute pressure sensor disposed adjacent to the first region of the flow conduit and configured to measure a pressure of the gas flow at the first region of the flow conduit; and a second absolute pressure sensor disposed adjacent to the second region of the flow conduit and configured to measure pressure of the gas flow at the second region of the flow conduit.

DISPOSABLE COMBINED DEVICE WITH ANTIMICROBIAL FILTER AND FLOWMETER, FOR USE IN SPIROMETRY
20220039688 · 2022-02-10 ·

An entirely disposable combined antimicrobial filter and flowmeter device for spirometry applications comprises a tubular body, with an inlet end portion, an outlet end portion, and an intermediate portion of enlarged diameter in the form of a discoidal shell. In the discoidal shell both an antimicrobial filtering membrane and a discoidal net of plastic material generating a pressure differential are arranged, it has an outer peripheral edge fixed to an inner annular lip of one of said bell-shaped portions of the discoidal shell, said annular lip being coaxial to said cylindrical wall. One of the filtering membrane and the pressure differential generating network has an outer peripheral edge fixed to the cylindrical wall of the discoidal shell, while the other of the filtering membrane and the pressure differential generating network has an outer peripheral edge fixed to an inner annular lip of one of the bell-shaped portions defining the discoidal shell.

SPIROMETER APPARATUS

An incentive spirometer has a housing (1) with a vertical cylinder (4) connected at its upper end to one end of a gas passage (8) that is connected at its opposite end to an inlet tube (10) and mouthpiece (11). A piston (20) in the cylinder is moved up when the patient inhales through the mouthpiece and thereby creates a reduced pressure at the upper end of the cylinder. The spirometer also includes a flow sensor (30) located in the gas passage (8) that generates a wireless signal indicative of gas flow along the passage. A monitor (40), such as a suitably programmed mobile phone, is located separately of the spirometer housing (1) and responds to the output of the sensor (30). The monitor (40) records and provides feedback to the user indicative of his use of the apparatus.

Resuscitation device with onboard processor

A resuscitator has a patient airway interface device, a bag, a fluid passage coupled between the bag and patient airway interface device, and a sensor module. The patient airway interface device may be a mask or an endotracheal tube. The sensor module can have a display, at least one sensor coupled to the flow passage and configured to provide a measurement of at least one parameter, and a processor coupled to the display and the at least one sensor. The processor is configured to receive the measurement from the sensor and provide information on the display based on the received measurement. The information may include a current breath rate, a pressure-vs-time curve, and guidance to the user to assist in achieving a target breath rate.
