Disclosed are biofeedback methods and devices suitable for providing biofeedback useful for helping a user control an own breathing, for example, to help in inducing deep breathing, and such biofeedback devices further comprising a dispenser for dispensing an inhalable substance.

SMART OSCILLATING POSITIVE EXPIRATORY PRESSURE DEVICE

An oscillating positive expiratory pressure system including an oscillating positive expiratory pressure device having a chamber, an input component in communication with the chamber, wherein the input component is operative to sense a flow and/or pressure and generate an input signal correlated to the flow or pressure, a processor operative to receive the input signal from the input component and generate an output signal, and an output component operative to receive the output signal, and display an output.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTION AND MONITORING OF HEALTH PARAMETERS

Methods and apparatus provide monitoring of coughing and/or a sleep disordered breathing state of a person. One or more sensors may be configured for non-contact active and/or passive sensing. The processor(s) may extract respiratory effort signal(s) from one or more motion signals generated by active non-contact sensing with the sensor(s). The processor(s) may extract one or more energy band signals from an acoustic audio signal generated by passive non-contact sensing with the sensor(s). The processor(s) may assess the energy band signal(s) and/or the respiratory efforts signal(s) to generate intensity signal(s) representing sleep disorder breathing modulation. The processor(s) may classify feature(s) derived from the one or more intensity signals to generate measure(s) of coughing and/or sleep disordered breathing. The processor may evaluate sensing signal(s) to generate indication(s) of cough event(s) and/or cough type which may include generating an indication of a coronavirus disease or a coronavirus disease cough type.

Flow Sensor for Ventilation

A flow sensor system for ventilation treatment comprises a flow conduit configured to allow gas flow between a first region and a second region, the flow conduit defining a lumen for the gas flow; a flow restrictor disposed within the lumen of the flow conduit between the first region and the second region; a first absolute pressure sensor disposed adjacent to the first region of the flow conduit and configured to measure a pressure of the gas flow at the first region of the flow conduit; and a second absolute pressure sensor disposed adjacent to the second region of the flow conduit and configured to measure pressure of the gas flow at the second region of the flow conduit.

Smart oscillating positive expiratory pressure device

An oscillating positive expiratory pressure system including an oscillating positive expiratory pressure device, an adapter coupled to the device, and a control module coupled to the adapter. The control module provides real time information about the use of the device, and provides feedback and storage of the information to improve the use thereof.

SPACER DEVICE WITH FLOW RATE SPIROMETER

The present invention provides a spacer device having a flow rate spirometer. The flow rate indicator allows users to use a measured, consistent flow rate leading to improved synchronicity and actuation.

A spirometer that includes a sensor and a specifically designed flow chamber to create a pressure change and produce spirometry test results is disclosed. In one embodiment, the sensor comprises an absolute barometric pressure sensor. The spirometer of the present disclosure includes a single sensor positioned between the inlet of a flow chamber and a barrier to compute spirometry values with barometric pressure change. Pressure, humidity, and temperature are features that are built into the sensor. These sensor features and values assist in final computational spirometry test values as users complete test maneuvers.

Methods and systems for accessing and diagnosing diseased lung compartments are disclosed. Methods may comprise introducing a diagnostic catheter with an occluding member at its distal end into a lung segment; inflating the occluding member to isolate the lung compartment; and performing a diagnostic procedure with the catheter. The proximal end of the diagnostic catheter is configured to be attached to a console. Methods may also include allowing air to enter the lung compartment through the passage in the catheter while the patient is inhaling and blocking air from being expelled from the lung compartment through the catheter passage while the patient is exhaling by using a one-way flow element adapted to be disposed within or in-line with the passage of the catheter so that flow in a proximal-to-distal direction is allowed and flow in a distal-to-proximal direction is inhibited or prevented.
