The present disclosure relates generally to devices, systems, and methods for diagnosis and treatment via laser-treated skin and, more particularly, to devices, systems, and methods for inducing leakage or rupture of one or more blood vessels comprising the dermis for various diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Other aspects of the present disclosure can include methods for detecting one or more target analytes in a dermis of a subject, methods for facilitating skin-to-blood delivery of agent in a subject, and methods for collecting a fluid sample from the dermis of a subject.

APPLICATORS AND METHODS FOR APPLYING A MICRONEEDLE PATCH TO A SKIN OF A SUBJECT, AND MICRONEEDLE PATCHES

A reusable applicator for applying a microneedle patch to a skin of a subject which comprises a base for positioning onto the skin. The base comprises a skin-side end and a holder for holding the microneedle patch in position relative to the skin-side end. Two or more contact parts at the skin-side end can contact the skin. One or more are movable over the skin and away from the other contact 5 parts to stretch the skin at least during penetration of the skin by a microneedle of the patch. The applicator further comprises an interface for an actuator. The actuator actuates in operation a movement of the microneedle patch relative to the skin-side end to penetrate at least into the stratum corneum of the epidermis of the skin with the microneedle. A microneedle patch comprises a skin-adhesive surface for attaching the patch to the skin of a10 subject. The patch has one or more microneedles projecting from the skin-adhesive surface out of the patch. A stiffening body stiffens the patch in at least a parallel direction parallel to the skin-adhesive surface in a region of the skin-adhesive surface which includes the microneedle.

Venous access device

A venous access device includes a hub and a bifurcated cannula. The hub includes a bifurcated connecting arm, a blood sampling arm connected to the bifurcated connecting arm, a fluid transfer arm connected to the bifurcated connecting arm, a blood sampling channel and a fluid transfer channel. The blood sampling channel passes through the blood sampling arm and the bifurcated connecting arm. The fluid transfer channel passes through the fluid transfer arm and the bifurcated connecting arm. The bifurcated cannula is coupled to the bifurcated connecting arm and includes a blood sampling lumen having a blood sampling port, a fluid transfer lumen having a fluid transfer port, and a dividing member separating the blood sampling lumen from the fluid transfer lumen. The blood sampling port is 2 mm to 20 mm proximal from the fluid transfer port. The blood sampling channel is fluidly connected to the blood sampling lumen, and the fluid transfer channel is fluidly connected to the fluid transfer lumen.
