Biological fluid collection device
A biological fluid collection device that includes a housing and a cartridge that is removably receivable within a portion of the housing is disclosed. The biological fluid collection device of the present disclosure allows for collection of capillary blood from a finger stick and provides a closed system that reduces the exposure of a blood sample. In one embodiment, a cartridge of the present disclosure also provides fast mixing of a blood sample with a sample stabilizer. In another embodiment, a cartridge of the present disclosure provides automatic plasma separation of the blood sample. Advantageously, once the cartridge is filled with a sample aid removed from the housing, the cartridge can be used for a variety of important purposes.
HEAT PACK WITH SUPERCOOLED AQUEOUS SALT SOLUTION AND GLYCERIN
A heat pack using supercooled aqueous salt solution that resists premature activation at low temperatures is disclosed. The heat pack comprises two sheets that are bonded together to form a laminated sheet. The heat pack has a first and second compartment. A frangible seal separates the two compartments. One of the compartments contains a supercooled aqueous salt solution. The salt solution contains 15 to 25 percent glycerin by mass.
Multi-purpose automatic injector
A multi-purpose automatic injector, comprising a base unit having a forward end and a rearward end and arranged along a longitudinal axis; a cartridge containing a medicament, the cartridge being coupled adjacent to the forward end of the base unit; a drive assembly attached to the base unit and configured to be actuated by a computerized controller; at least one piercing element configured to be operatively coupled with the drive assembly and configured to be movable by the drive member relative to the cartridge in a reciprocating manner upon receipt of a corresponding signal from the computerized controller.
LANCING AND BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVEL MEASURING DEVICE
A lancing and blood glucose level measuring device includes a casing; a laser oscillation unit that is accommodated within the casing and configured to generate a laser beam for blood sampling; a blood glucose level measuring unit that is accommodated within the casing and configured to measure a blood glucose level; a contact unit that is formed on a part of one side of the casing and configured to irradiate the laser beam toward an irradiation target area; a blood glucose strip insertion unit which is formed on another part of one side of the casing and into which a blood glucose strip including a blood glucose sensor that transmits and receives signals to and from the blood glucose level measuring unit to measure a blood glucose level is to be inserted; and a controller configured to control the laser oscillation unit.
HAND WARMER DEVICE FOR CAPILLARY BLOOD COLLECTION
A device that can warm a hand of a user and/or patient to facilitate collection of blood samples (e.g., capillary blood sample collection) is described herein. The device provides controlled amounts of heat directed to the palm of a user and/or patient to facilitate collection of high-quality capillary blood samples. The device is designed in such a way to provide a comfortable resting position for the hand that allows heating the hand of the user and/or patient while simultaneously providing access to the finger of the user and/or patient to carry out one or more steps in preparation for collection of capillary blood samples from the finger. The device will also monitor the temperature to limit the max temperature to a safe level, control the palm temperature to a desired level, and use a conductive material to enable rapid heating.

Transdermal sampling and analysis device
Transdermal sampling and analysis device, method and system are provided for non-invasively and transdermally obtaining biological samples from a subject and determining levels of analytes of the obtained biological samples. The transdermal sampling and analysis device, method and system may cause disruption to the skin cells to create capillary-like channels from which biological samples may flow to the transdermal sampling and analysis device. The transdermal sampling and analysis device, method and system may collect the biological samples in a reservoir where the biological sample may chemically react with a biologically reactive element. A sensor may convert the produced electrons (ions) into measured electrical signals. The converted signals may be measured and the levels of an analyte may be determined based on the measured signals.
