Syringe with Multifunctional Plunger Handle
A medical syringe useful for administering an injection or withdrawing a bodily fluid, the syringe comprising a barrel, plunger assembly and a needle assembly having a selectively retractable needle, the plunger assembly further comprising a plunger handle with a plunger seal and a front tip extending forwardly of the plunger seal to extend through the barrel and into the an annular fluid seal disposed in a recess between the barrel and a forwardly projecting needle, thereby reducing dead space inside the syringe and helping anchor the annular fluid seal inside the recess.
Hand-held applicator
A hand-held applicator (10) for collecting, mixing, diluting and discharging a sample liquid, comprising a main body (20) having an inlet-aperture (24), an outlet-aperture (26) and a chamber (22) for storing a liquid solution, wherein the chamber is connected to the inlet-aperture and the outlet-aperture, a lid (12) for covering the inlet-aperture and a tube (40), moveably supported in the inlet-aperture when the lid is covering the upper portion of the main body, wherein the tube (40) is moveable between a predetermined position outside the chamber and a position, in which the tube is at least partly located in the chamber.
MULTI-FUNCTION CAPILLARY TUBE SYRINGE WITH RETRACTABLE NEEDLE FOR ARTERIAL BLOOD DRAWING
Implementations of a capillary tube syringe are provided. In some implementations, a capillary tube syringe comprises an elongated hollow outer tube having a proximal end and a distal end and a needle extending from the first end of the outer tube outside the outer tube and extending inside the outer tube. In some implementations, an elongated hollow capillary tube having a proximal end and a distal end extend along the inside of the outer tube. In some implementations, a normally compressed spring is operatively connected to the needle. In some implementations, the spring is configured to expand when activated to retract the needle inside the elongated hollow tube. In some implementations, the capillary tube diameter is less than or equal to 0.865 inches.
INSERTION DEVICE
Embodiments relate to an insertion device that includes: a plunger coupled with a lock collar. The insertion device houses contents including: a striker including self-locking striker snap arm(s) where the striker is kept from firing by a striker spring captured between the plunger and the striker when the insertion device is in a cocked position; a sensor assembly; and a needle carrier that holds a piercing member, the needle carrier captured between the striker and a needle carrier spring where a self-releasing snap(s) keeps the needle carrier cocked, where the plunger prevents the self-releasing snap(s) from repositioning and releasing the needle carrier. The striker fires the needle carrier such that the self-locking striker snap arm(s) are positioned to allow the striker to snap down. The needle carrier is then retracted when the user releases the plunger and the piercing member is encapsulated within the insertion device.

Biological fluid collection and stabilization system
A biological fluid collection system that receives a sample and provides flow-through blood stabilization technology and a precise sample dispensing function for point-of-care and near patient testing applications is disclosed. A biological fluid collection system of the present disclosure is able to effectuate distributed mixing of a sample stabilizer within a blood sample and dispense the stabilized sample in a controlled manner. In this manner, a biological fluid collection system of the present disclosure enables blood micro-sample management, e.g., passive mixing with a sample stabilizer and controlled dispensing, for point-of-care and near patient testing applications.
Syringe for obtaining a target volume of blood
The present invention provides a syringe for obtaining a target volume of a liquid, in particular blood. The syringe provides a piston with a seal having a width that is identical to the volume line indicating the target full volume of the syringe. This offers a precise and an intuitive way for the end user to understand how much blood is recommended to be drawn from the patient. In exemplary embodiments these visual indicators have the same colour and a desired amount of interruptions of the line of the volume scale are provided.
DEVICE FOR WITHDRAWAL AND PROCESSING OF A SAMPLE
A device (100) having a proximal end (20) and end a distal end (40) for withdrawal of a liquid sample, fractionation, and separation of one or more fractions comprising: a piston assembly (300) comprising a piston (302) dismountably attached at its proximal end (20) to an actuating rod (350); a container (200) having a body (202) disposed with a cylindrical chamber (204) for slidable movement of the piston (302) therein; wherein the cylindrical chamber (204) is provided at the distal end (40) with a resealable septum (410) for co-operation with a puncture needle assembly (600) for withdrawal of the liquid sample, an at the proximal end (20) with a stop member (206), which stop member (206) limits movement of the piston (300) in a proximal direction, wherein the container body (202) is dimensioned to fit inside a centrifuge rotor, and is configured for breakability into two parts at a temperature of 0 deg C. or lower at a breakable zone (210).
Fluid transfer device, system and method
A fluid transfer device includes a syringe barrel having a chamber, a first plunger slidably movable inside the chamber, and a second plunger slidably movable inside the chamber. The distal end portion of the first plunger is engageable with the proximal end portion of the second plunger such that when the distal end portion of the first plunger and the proximal end portion of the second plunger are engaged, the second plunger is movable by the first plunger. A check valve may be incorporated into the distal end portion of the second plunger to allow a fluid to pass therethrough in a direction towards the proximal end portion of the second plunger and prevent a fluid to pass therethrough in a reverse direction. A fluid transfer assembly and a sampling method are also described.
Syringe-based fluid diversion mechanism for bodily fluid sampling
A syringe-based device includes a housing, a pre-sample reservoir, and an actuator. The housing defines an inner volume between a substantially open proximal end portion and a distal end portion that includes a port couplable to a lumen-defining device. The pre-sample reservoir is fluidically couplable to the port to receive and isolate a first volume of bodily fluid. The actuator is at least partially disposed in the inner volume and has a proximal end portion that includes an engagement portion and a distal end portion that includes a sealing member. The engagement portion is configured to allow a user to selectively move the actuator between a first configuration such that bodily fluid can flow from the port to the pre-sample reservoir, and a second configuration such that bodily fluid can flow from the port to a sample reservoir defined at least in part by the sealing member and the housing.
