Methods for delivery of bodily fluids onto a fibrous substrate
The disclosed apparatus, systems and methods relate to devices, systems and methods for the collection of bodily fluids. The collector can make use of microfluidic networks connected to collection sites on the skin of a subject to gather and shuttle blood into a removable cartridge. The collected fluid is supplied to substrate for drying, storage and transport.
Dermal patch for collecting a physiological sample
A dermal patch for collecting a physiological sample includes a housing with a collection chamber, a sample channel and a pin within a receptacle of the housing. The sample channel is configured to direct a physiological sample drawn from a subject to the collection chamber. The pin is removably positioned within the receptacle and is configured to move from an undeployed position to a deployed position. The pin is configured to seal the receptacle when in the undeployed position and is further configured to facilitate generation of negative pressure in the sample channel when the pin is moved from the undeployed to the deployed position.
Blood Pack Donation System for Biomarker Collection During Whole Blood Donation
A blood pack donation system configured for use with a lab-on-a-chip device for biomarker collection during whole blood donation including a blood collection container, a biomarker collection container, a first flow path connected to an opening in the blood collection container and to a first outlet opening of a lab-on-a-chip device, a second flow path connected to an opening in the biomarker collection container and to a second outlet opening of the lab-on-a-chip device, and a third flow path connected to a needle and to an inlet opening of the lab-on-a-chip device. The system may be used in a single pass collection procedure. A second version includes a fourth flow path connected to the first flow path and to the third flow path, with a plurality of flow control components that selectively control flow to provide a single pass collection procedure or a multiple pass collection procedure.
System and method for filling containers with fluids
In a method embodiment, an example method for simultaneously filling balloons with water, using an apparatus sufficiently compact to be operated while being held by hand, is disclosed. The method includes attaching the apparatus to a water supply. The apparatus includes a fitting comprising an inlet configured to connect to the water supply and a bulkhead joining the at least three branch assemblies. Each branch assembly includes a tube and an automatically-sealing balloon with a neck disposed around and removably attached to the tube. The method further includes simultaneously providing water from the attached water supply to each balloon of the balloon-filling apparatus. The method further includes detaching one or more of the balloons from the balloon-filling apparatus using a force comprising gravity each detached balloon and the water contained therein. Each detached balloon automatically seals upon detachment.

VACUUM PAD AND RELATED SYSTEM
A vacuum pad may include a top layer forming a top surface of the vacuum pad; a bottom layer forming a bottom surface of the vacuum pad; and a plurality of spacers located between the top layer and the bottom layer such that an interior space is formed between the top layer and the bottom layer. The interior space may have at least one channel extending around at least one spacer of the plurality of spacers. The vacuum pad may also include an outlet tube in fluid communication with the interior space, where the top layer includes a plurality of holes. A vacuum system may include the vacuum pad along with a canister and a vacuum source for moving fluid from the vacuum pad to the canister.
Blood Analysis Method and Apparatus
A capillary chamber for performing chemical and physical analysis using a plurality of whole blood samples is presented. Following a loading of the whole blood samples into a plastic tube, the whole blood samples are distributed into a collection chamber and the capillary chamber has means of adding respective vaccines or similar biological products into each capillary tubes. The whole blood is then analyzed using standard microscopic techniques with sufficient resolution and contrast to record the chemical and physical properties of the blood immediately after withdrawal.
DRAINAGE BAG SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to drainage bag systems configured to facilitate disposal of a fluid therein and methods of using the drainage bag systems. For example, the drainage bag systems may include a drainage container configured to receive and hold a fluid from a patient. The drainage container may be fluidly coupled and reversibly attached to a bag. The bag may be configured to selectively receive at least some of fluid held by the drainage container. The bag may be detached from the drainage container and disposed of in a substantially fluid tight manner without disrupting operation of the drainage container (e.g., receiving and holding a fluid).
MEDICAL DEVICE FOR THE PREPARATION OF A CONCENTRATE OF CELLS
A medical device for the separation of a concentrate enriched with cells from a biological fluid, in particular a concentrate of stromal or stem cells from medullar aspirate or venous blood, comprises: a treatment container for receiving and treating the biological fluid for the purposes of its separation into a number of fractions; a first collection container, for receiving a first fraction of the fluid, in particular a fraction poor in said cells; a second collection container, for receiving a second concentrated fraction of the fluid enriched with said cells; a deviator valve having a first way connected or prearranged for connection to the treatment container, a second way connected or prearranged for connection to the first collection container, and a third way connected or prearranged for connection to the second collection container; a first line for connection of the treatment container to the first way of the deviator valve, a second line for connection of the first collection container to the second way of the deviator valve, and a third line for connection of the second collection container with the third way of the deviator valve.
The treatment container is a syringe container with a plunger having a plunger stem associated in a releasable way to a corresponding plunger head, and the first connection line comprises a first transparent tube, in particular a flexible transparent tube, and at least one of the second and third connection lines preferably comprises a second flexible tube. At least one connection line, or each connection line, further comprises: at least one respective hydraulic connector, for separable connection of a corresponding tube to the corresponding container and/or to the corresponding way of the deviator valve; and at least one automatic-closing or one-way valve.
