PUNCTURE NEEDLE UNIT AND PUNCTURE NEEDLE DEVICE, AND SAFETY TUBE FOR SAME
20170290573 · 2017-10-12 ·

A biopsy needle unit includes a biopsy needle and an elastically deformable safety tube for partially covering the biopsy needle inserted to a lumen extending in a longitudinal direction. A marker is arranged on the biopsy needle at a position protruding from an end portion of the safety tube on an opposite side of a needle tip of the puncture needle when the needle tip portion is accommodated in the lumen. The safety tube has portions in which the lumen is curved at least partially with respect to the longitudinal direction so that the safety tube is elastically deformed due to contact between an inner circumferential face of the lumen and an outer circumferential face of the biopsy needle when the biopsy needle is inserted to the lumen to cause frictional resistance between the inner circumferential face of the lumen and the outer circumferential face of the biopsy needle.

Single-handed operable infant heel blood sampling device and its safety mechanism
20250231090 · 2025-07-17 ·

The disclosure discloses a single-handed operable infant heel blood sampling device and its safety mechanism, including a push-pull rod and an actuating rod partially extending outside the blood sampler housing; the actuating rod has a second hook portion that can engage with the first hook portion; to perform blood sampling, push down the push-pull rod to disengage the buckle portion from the housing, causing the first hook portion to engage with the second hook portion on the first end of the actuating rod; then pull up the push-pull rod to pull the actuating rod, and the actuating rod thus releases a pre-compressed spring set inside the blood sampler housing, allowing the blade originally positioned in a first position inside the housing to slide out from a cutting port and then be retracted into a second position inside the housing.

Disposable Lancing Device and Method of Operating the Same

A disposable lancing device contains: a first casing, a second casing, and a needle holder. The first casing includes a close segment, an open segment, a slideway, two tilted contact faces, a fixing portion, two recesses, and two push fringes. The second casing includes an accommodation chamber, two limitation extensions, and multiple drive protrusions. A forcing face is defined on the second casing opposite to the two limitation extensions, and a through hole is defined on a center of the forcing face. The through hole has a protruded rib. The needle holder includes a collection needle having a syringe needle, and the needle holder further includes a trigger spring, a return spring, and two symmetrical flexible wings. The two symmetrical flexible wings include two driving segments configured to abut against the two symmetrical flexible wings to flexibly retract inward by using the two tilted contact faces.

BLOOD COLLECTION SAFETY DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE AND MANUFACTURE

An automatically locking safety device, e.g., for use in a blood collection procedure, can include a housing, first and second needle covers that are at least partly received in the housing, and a needle that is at least partly received in at least one of the first and second needle covers. The needle can include a proximal tip configured for placement into a patient and a distal tip configured for placement into a blood collection vial. In some embodiments, the first and second needle covers are biased by a biasing member. In some cases, one or both of the first and second needle covers can be locked to prevent axial movement thereof after the blood collection procedure. In certain embodiments, a distal end of the device is configured to connect with a medical connector, such as a needleless IV access device.

It is an object of this disclosure to facilitate a series of puncture-related operations in a puncture instrument. In a main case of a puncture instrument, a main rod is provided. An injector rod is mounted to a main rod and includes a lancet holder on one end side. An actuating rod is mounted to the injector rod and has an engagement component on the other end side. A first biasing member biases the injector rod toward the first end side. A manipulation component is provided so as to be slidable in and out through an opening on the other end side of the main case. A locking member is axially supported rotatably by a portion of the main rod between the manipulation component and the injector rod. The locking member includes a first engaged part, a second engaged part and a second biasing member.

A single-use compression lancing device includes a bottom housing, a top housing, and a lancet. The lancet is generally configured for selective interengagement and guidance within the bottom and top housings. The top housing is configured for slidingly engaging the bottom housing such that manipulation of the top housing relative to the bottom housing causes a sharp tip portion of the lancet to protrude from an opening of the top housing. In one form, at least one arm extending from the lancet interengages a portion of the top housing such that the lancet is retracted within a portion of the bottom housing.
