Biological fluid collection device
A biological fluid collection device that includes a housing and a cartridge that is removably receivable within a portion of the housing is disclosed. The biological fluid collection device of the present disclosure allows for collection of capillary blood from a finger stick and provides a closed system that reduces the exposure of a blood sample. In one embodiment, a cartridge of the present disclosure also provides fast mixing of a blood sample with a sample stabilizer. In another embodiment, a cartridge of the present disclosure provides automatic plasma separation of the blood sample. Advantageously, once the cartridge is filled with a sample aid removed from the housing, the cartridge can be used for a variety of important purposes.
DEVICE FOR WITHDRAWAL AND PROCESSING OF A SAMPLE
A device (100) having a proximal end (20) and end a distal end (40) for withdrawal of a liquid sample, fractionation, and separation of one or more fractions comprising: a piston assembly (300) comprising a piston (302) dismountably attached at its proximal end (20) to an actuating rod (350); a container (200) having a body (202) disposed with a cylindrical chamber (204) for slidable movement of the piston (302) therein; wherein the cylindrical chamber (204) is provided at the distal end (40) with a resealable septum (410) for co-operation with a puncture needle assembly (600) for withdrawal of the liquid sample, an at the proximal end (20) with a stop member (206), which stop member (206) limits movement of the piston (300) in a proximal direction, wherein the container body (202) is dimensioned to fit inside a centrifuge rotor, and is configured for breakability into two parts at a temperature of 0 deg C. or lower at a breakable zone (210).
Fluidic medical devices and uses thereof
This invention is in the field of medical devices. Specifically, the present invention provides fluidic systems having a plurality of reaction sites surrounded by optical barriers to reduce the amount of optical cross-talk between signals detected from various reaction sites. The invention also provides a method of manufacturing fluidic systems and methods of using the systems.
Interstitial Fluid Sampling Device
A device for extracting an interstitial fluid sample from the skin of a mammal subject is disclosed. The device comprises at least one micro-needle comprising a tip portion configured to be inserted into the skin of the mammal subject, and a passage configured to transport the interstitial fluid from the skin to a retaining material arranged in a channel of a body of the device. The retaining material is fluidically connected to the passage and configured to absorb and store the interstitial fluid sample transported by the passage. A holder configured to receive such a device is also disclosed.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR CELL DETECTION
The present disclosure relates to a cartridge, detection module, system, and kit for cell and particle detection and analysis. Devices disclosed herein may include at least an optical source, a fluidic chip, and a detection module, wherein the sample flows within the fluidic chip past a detection window, where the cells or particles are imaged by an image acquisition and analysis module that may include an optical detector. The image acquisition and analysis module may count the cells or particles of interest in real-time, or near real-time, or the module may capture images of the cells in order to analyze the sample from combined images at a later time.

Methods and devices for sample collection and sample separation
Methods and devices are provided for sample collection and sample separation. In one embodiment, a device is provided for use with a formed component liquid sample, the device comprising at least one sample inlet for receiving said sample; at least a first outlet for outputting only a liquid portion of the formed component liquid sample; at least a second outlet for outputting the formed component liquid sample at least a first material mixed therein.
DEVICES FOR SAMPLE COLLECTION AND SAMPLE SEPARATION
Methods and devices are provided for sample collection and sample separation. In one embodiment, a device is provided for use with a formed component liquid sample, the device comprising at least one sample inlet for receiving said sample; at least a first outlet for outputting only a liquid portion of the formed component liquid sample; at least a second outlet for outputting the formed component liquid sample at least a first material mixed therein.
POINT-OF-CARE DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE AND A METHOD FOR SECURE USER IDENTITY CONFIRMATION WHILE MAINTAING ANONIMITY
A device and method for performing a diagnostic test, including determining presence or absence of antibodies to a virus. The device displays the results on a display, and includes a retractable needle and an enclosure that houses the retractable needle, a vessel for collecting or storing a bodily liquid sample collected from the subject, an enclosure containing a diluent fluid that is mixed with the collected sample, and at least one area for mixing and performing analysis.
A pressure sensor checks for pressure being applied by the test subject's finger during the test, and stops the test or disables display if it does not sense pressure of the test subject's finger during testing. A processor performs identification testing by scanning a digital fingerprint of the test subject by a digital scanner prior to evaluation, stores the data and evaluates the test results to determine whether the results exceed or reach a threshold value. The testing and evaluation are performed only after a successful identification of the test subject. The device keeps the test information and identification information about the test subject anonymous, and does not communicate the identity of the test subject and the test results to an external device.
