Lancet
The invention relates to a lancet for performing an incision. The lancet has a blade for providing an incision and a trigger housed in a housing. The trigger has a first trigger arm, a second trigger arm and a flexible member connected to the second trigger arm. A resilient member may be disposed within the housing in a pre-cutting state in which it stores energy and arranged to exert a force for moving the second trigger arm and the blade from a first stowed position through a cutting position and to a second stowed position.
Needle assembly with safety system for a syringe or fluid sampling device and method of making and using the same
Needle assembly having the following modes of operation; a first mode wherein the safety shield can move to a first retracted position allowing injection of the piercing portion of needle from a position at least partially covering the piercing portion of the needle and a second mode wherein the safety shield moves to a position protecting the piercing portion of the needle after the first mode and is prevented from moving back to a position exposing the piercing portion of the needle.
Tail pressing type disposable safety lancet
A tail pressing type disposable safety lancet includes a shell, a lancet core, a spring and tail cover. The shell has an elastic arm for locking the lancet core, wherein: the tail cover has an active locking part for locking and the elastic arm has a passive locking part for locking correspondingly; the positions, the fitting time of the active locking part and the passive locking part correlate with the active and passive unlocking parts; when the tail cover is pressed during use, it forces the lancet core to unlock for ejection and puncturing, and the tail cover and elastic arm enter the locking state and cannot be used again. After use of the safety lancet, the tail cover permanently locks on the elastic arm of the shell, ensuring the safety of single use, and the user visually recognizes the tail cover is retracted at the tail of the shell.
Cap With Venting Plug for Biological Fluid Collection Device
A cap with a venting plug for a biological fluid collection device is disclosed. The venting plug allows air to pass therethrough and prevents a blood sample from passing therethrough. In one embodiment, the venting plug is a porous plug. In one embodiment, the cap includes a venting plug including a carboxymethylcellulose additive. A cap that limits analyte bias due to the interaction of plasma ions with the carboxymethylcellulose by reducing the contact area between the blood and the carboxymethylcellulose additive, e.g., decreasing radius, is also disclosed.
BLOOD GLUCOSE MANAGEMENT
This disclosure provides equipment and processes for blood glucose management. Embodiments may comprise a lancet device that includes a base that supports a lancet and a cover. The cover can move controllably from an un-depressed position to a depressed position when a predetermined force is applied. The cover can provide access to the lancet in the depressed position. In another aspect, a biological test kit may include a reusable module and a disposable module. The disposable module may include one or more lancet devices such as that described above to collect a biological sample, one or more strip stations supporting biological strips and a disposable module connector. The reusable module may support measuring equipment to measure a property of the biological sample and a reusable module connector that engages removably with the disposable module connector.

BODY FLUID SAMPLING ELEMENT
A sampling element (110) for generating a sample of a body fluid is disclosed. The sampling element (110) comprises a housing (114), the) housing having a chamber (122) with at least one puncture element (112) stored therein. A tip (132) of the puncture element (112) is movable through at least one puncture opening (124) of the housing (114) in order to perforate a skin portion of a user. The sampling element (110) further comprises at least one compression element (150), which is adapted to increase a pressure of the body fluid within a body tissue of the user in a region of puncturing when pressed onto the skin portion of the user. The compression element (150) is movably mounted to the housing (114). The sampling element (110) comprises at least one locking mechanism (168) for releasably locking the compression element (150) in at least two positions. The at least two positions comprise a first position (170) and a second position (172), the second position (172) being offset from the first position (170). In a further aspect of the invention, an analytical device (204) is disclosed, the analytical device (204) being adapted for using the sampling element (110) of the invention.
