Electrode devices are provided having certain thin film components, including at least one thin film contact and a temperature sensor associated with the contact. The temperature sensor can be used to monitor the temperature during use of the electrode device, including during electrical stimulation or ablation. Further, the temperature sensor can be used to identify the most effective temperature for stimulation or ablation.

A closed-loop implantable neurostimulator system for mitigating chronic pain, the closed-loop implantable neurostimulator system including a neuromodulation device comprising one or more electrodes configured to measure a physiological signal of a subject and deliver an electrical stimulation signal to a target area in the subject and a controller, in communication with the one or more electrodes, comprising a processor and a computer-readable memory storing a trained healthy computer model, the controller configured to analyze the physiological signal that is measured using the trained healthy computer model to identify a corrective electrical stimulation signal that, when delivered by the one or more electrodes to the target area, reduces pathological neuronal events in the target area while preserving acute pain response.

An access device for accessing an intervertebral disc having an outer shield comprising an access shield with a larger diameter (˜16-30 mm) that reaches from the skin down to the facet line, with an inner shield having a second smaller diameter (˜5-12 mm) extending past the access shield and reaches down to the disc level. This combines the benefits of the direct visual microsurgical/mini open approaches and the percutaneous, “ultra-MIS” techniques.

Stimulation lead with electrodes configured for sensing and stimulation over a partial circumference
A lead body is operable to be implanted proximate a target nerve tissue of a patient. A sensing electrode is configured to sense biopotentials over a first partial circumference of the lead body. A stimulation electrode is configured to deliver stimulation energy over a second partial circumference of the lead body. A signal generator is electrically coupled to the stimulation electrode and a sensing circuit is coupled to the sensing electrode. A processor is operable to apply a stimulation signal to the stimulation electrode via the signal generator and, via the sensing circuit, sense an evoked response to the stimulation signal that propagates along a neural pathway.
LATENCY COMPENSATION FOR DETECTION OF ECAPS
Systems, devices, and techniques are described for adjusting a sensing window for sensing a feature of an evoked compound action potential (ECAP). In one example, a medical device includes processing circuitry configured to determine a value of a stimulation parameter that at least partially defines an electrical stimulation pulse and select, based on the value of the stimulation parameter, a sensing window for detecting one or more features of a sensed evoked compound action potential (ECAP) signal elicited by the electrical stimulation pulse. The processing circuitry can also determine a value of each of the one or more features within the sensing window from the sensed ECAP signal and control, based on the value of each of the one or more features, subsequent electrical stimulation deliverable to a patient.
Percutaneous discectomy kit and method
A method for performing an efficient and thorough percutaneous discectomy includes making into the patient a percutaneous incision, which is a small stab wound, no more than approximately 10 mm in length. A stimulated combination neuro-monitoring dilating probe is passed through an approximately 10 mm or less skin incision and into a patient's disc space to establish a safe path and trajectory through Kambin's Triangle. Once a neuro-monitoring dilating probe is in the disc space, a second dilator is placed over the neuro-monitoring dilating probe and impacted into the disc space. Neuro-monitoring dilating probe may then be removed. An access portal optionally combined with a force dissipation device may then be placed over the second dilator and into the disc space. The second dilator is removed and then discectomy instruments may be placed through the access portal to perform the discectomy.
PET IMAGING OF CANCEROUS CELLS USING 18F-FLUOROACETATE
The present disclosure provides methods of imaging cancerous cells in a subject, wherein the cancerous cells are localized to the skeletal system or central nervous system of the subject, the method comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of 18F-fluoroacetate, detecting a first signal emitted by 18F-fluoroacetate, and generating an image representative of the location and/or amount of the first signal to image the cancerous cells. In some embodiments, the methods further comprising diagnosing, prognosing, staging, and/or monitoring the progression of a disease or disorder, such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia and/or leptomeningeal disease.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENT CONNECTORS AND RELATED METHODS
Connectors for connecting or linking one instrument or object to one or more other instruments or objects are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a connector can include a first arm with a first attachment feature for attaching to a first object, such as a surgical access device, and a second arm with a second attachment feature for attaching to a second object, such as a support. The connector can have an unlocked state, in which the position and orientation of the access device can be adjusted relative to the support, and a locked state in which movement of the access device relative to the support is prevented or limited. Locking the connector can also be effective to clamp or otherwise attach the connector to the access device and the support, or said attachment can be independent of the locking of the connector.
