SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUS FOR ESOPHAGEAL PANOMETRY
Systems, methods, and apparatus for esophageal panometry are provided. An example method includes capturing measurement data including an area and a pressure of an esophageal body via a measurement device positioned with respect to the esophageal body; generating representations of the exported measurement data; analyzing the measurement data to determine esophageal reactivity based on the area and pressure; assessing esophageal function based on the determined esophageal reactivity; and outputting an indication of esophageal function.
Detection and treatment of abnormal upper esophageal sphincter functionality
An esophageal device is used to recognize, diagnose, characterize, or relieve an impact of an abnormal or defective UES anatomy, physiology, or functionality. In one implementation, the esophageal device measures a UES response to esophageal fluid infusion to detect or characterize an abnormality or defective UES anatomy, physiology, or functionality. An Upper Esophageal Sphincter compression device is used to increase intra-luminal pressure within the Upper Esophageal Sphincter of a patient in order relieve an impact of an abnormal or defective UES anatomy, physiology, or functionality.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTRACAVITARY TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT AND MONITORING
Systems and methods for measuring and monitoring intracavitary tissue temperature. The system may include a catheter shaft with a circuit board disposed therein, the circuit board having an array of sensors disposed thereon. The catheter shaft may have an opening and an expandable structure surrounding the opening to provide a field of view of the intracavitary tissue for the array of sensors through the opening. The system may include a software-based programming system run on a computer such that a clinician may review information indicative of temperature of the intracavitary tissue, and be alerted if the temperature exceeds a predetermined threshold.
DETERMINING AN AMOUNT OF NITRIC OXIDE
In examples, there is a method comprising receiving an esophageal gas sample at a nitric oxide sensor, the nitric oxide sensor generating a signal indicative of the amount of nitric oxide in the esophageal gas sample, the nitric oxide sensor outputting the signal, and, based on the signal, determining the amount of nitric oxide in the esophageal gas sample.
METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR MEASURING MOVEMENT OF SUBSTANCES/BOLUS IN A TUBULAR ORGAN
This patent application provides a method and equipment for promoting measurement of movement of substances/bolus in a tubular organ and for use in the impedance phase reading in the esophagus, thus integrating the field of exams performed for medical diagnoses, particularly for carrying out in the esophagus. The method is characterized by taking the difference between tension and current (impedance phase) as a parameter in the Impedance audiometry exam, from an excited element with alternate current; the proposed method uses a probe (5) defined by a flexible insulating catheter (1), including metallic rings (2) that is introduced in the organ (3) to be examined; the metallic rings (2) are connected by wires (4) that run internally through the probe (5) defined by the flexible insulating catheter (1); the probe (5) is connected to an equipment (6) that applies an electric excitation to the metallic rings (2) which act as electrodes.
BIOLOGICAL SAMPLING DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE
Provided herein are methods and a device for collecting biological samples from a subject. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a device designed to specifically capture samples within the target areas of a patient for specific cell collection for particular diagnosis.
SYNTHESIS AND COMPOSITION OF AMINO ACID LINKING GROUPS CONJUGATED TO COMPOUNDS USED FOR THE TARGETED IMAGING OF TUMORS
The present disclosure relates to compounds that are useful as near-infrared fluorescence probes, wherein the compounds include i) a pteroyl ligand that binds to a target receptor protein, ii) a dye molecule, and iii) a linker molecule that comprises an amino acid or derivative thereof. The disclosure further describes methods and compositions for incorporating the compounds as used for the targeted imaging of tumors. Conjugation of the amino acid linking groups increase specificity and detection of the compound. Methods and compositions for use thereof in diagnostic imaging are contemplated.
Mucosal impedance measuring apparatus for detecting and measuring the condition of mucosa
A mucosal impedance measuring apparatus detects and measures a condition of mucosa. The mucosal impedance measuring apparatus includes a catheter comprising a tube, impedance sensing electrodes on an exterior surface of the catheter, a balloon mounted on the tube in which the balloon is capable of inflation and deflation, and an impedance measuring system. The impedance measuring system is adapted to measure a pressure-regulated impedance measurement of the mucosa that is indicative of the condition of the mucosa when the balloon is inflated and the impedance sensing electrodes direct an electric current through mucosa while the balloon is pressed against the mucosa.
Field gradient-based remote imaging
Systems and method for remote field measurement-based mapping of anatomical structures (e.g., using impedance image of electrical fields) are described. In some embodiments, an image of features within a target region is produced by analysis of a spatial pattern of field measurements made in a measurement region remote from the target region features; for example, but not exclusively, by treating the spatial arrangement of field measurements in some portion of the measurement region as indicating the spatial (e.g., angular and/or distance) arrangement of features (e.g., anatomical structure of topography and/or tissue type) in the target region.
NEUROMODULATION DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS
Articles and systems configured for treating GI motility disorders are generally provided. In some embodiments, an article comprising one or more electrodes (with both sensing and stimulating capabilities) may be configured to stimulate one or more tissues in the GI tract, electrically and/or chemically, to modulate peristalsis and/or allow neuromodulation. In some embodiments, a system comprises a controller that allows for close-loop operation of the article, e.g., such that the article may stimulate (e.g., via a feedback loop) the one or more organs in the GI tract upon receiving sensed parameters in the GI tract. In some embodiments, an implantation tool comprising a sensor may allow for submucosal or intramuscular implantation of an article. The implantation tool and the article may be useful for, for example, as a general platform for delivery of treating GI motility disorders and/or neuromodulation of the GI tract.
