ORAL APPLIANCE
A sheet-shaped oral appliance is provided that is detachably attached to an oral body device and includes a functional portion with a sensor unit that acquires information in an oral cavity and an energy irradiation unit that radiates energy into the oral cavity, an electrical connection portion, and a wiring portion that connects at least one of the sensor unit and the energy irradiation unit to the electrical connection portion. The functional portion, the connection portion, and the wiring portion are formed by a wiring layer having first and second main surfaces that oppose each other, a first insulating layer arranged on the first main surface and a second insulating layer arranged on the second main surface. Moreover, in the functional portion, a thickness of the first insulating layer is smaller than a thickness of the second insulating layer.
Predictive use of quantitative imaging
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for predicting a disease state of a subject using ultrasound imaging and ancillary information to the ultrasound imaging. At least two quantitative measurements of a subject, including at least one measurement taken using ultrasound imaging, as part of quantified information can be identified. One of the quantitative measurements can be compared to a first predetermined standard, included as part of ancillary information to the quantified information, in order to identify a first initial value. Further, another of the quantitative measurements can be compared to a second predetermined standard, included as part of the ancillary information, in order to identify a second initial value. Subsequently, the quantitative information can be correlated with the ancillary information using the first initial value and the second initial value to determine a final value that is predictive of a disease state of the subject.
ORAL BODY DEVICE
An oral body device is provided for attaching to and detaching from an oral appliance that has an electrical connection portion. The device includes a body, and an attachment/detachment operation unit that has an electrical connection conductor and is configured to detachably attach the oral appliance to the body portion by operating application and release of force to the oral appliance. Moreover, the attachment/detachment operation unit fixedly attaches the oral appliance in a state in which the electrical connection portion is electrically connected to the electrical connection conductor by applying a force to the oral appliance, and releases the fixation by releasing the force applied to the oral appliance to detach the oral appliance.
System And Method For Monitoring A Bodily Substance In A Human Orifice With A Wearable Device
A system and method is provided for monitoring a biological substance in a bodily orifice. The system includes a wearable device configured to be worn in a bodily orifice. A biosensor is carried by the wearable device and is constructed and arranged to obtain raw data regarding a biological substance in the orifice. The biosensor includes a processor circuit to provide processed data from the raw data, and a transmitter to wirelessly transmit the processed data to a second device.
WEARABLE WITH TEST STRIPS AND OPTICAL READER FOR SKIN
The present invention generally relates to a wearable electronic device that collects information about test sample using an optical sensor. The wearable device photographs and analyzes one or more organic samples placed on one or more immunoassay regions of a test strip in order to reveal information about the sample. The wearable electronic device may also sequentially photograph a plurality of individual organic samples applied to different immunoassay regions of a test strip.
Saliva test strip and method
A test strip for sampling a bodily fluid may include multiple layers of a substrate material, an adhesive between at least some of the multiple layers, and a microfluidic channel formed between at least some of the multiple layers. The test strip may further include multiple electrodes on one of the multiple layers, positioned and partially exposed within the microfluidic channel, an additional material positioned at or near an entrance to the microfluidic channel, to selectively limit the flow of at least one of bubbles or debris into the microfluidic channel, and at least one exit port in at least one of the multiple layers to allow for release of pressure from the test strip. In some embodiments, the test strip is a saliva analysis test strip. In some embodiments, the test strip includes multiple exit ports to prevent blockage of sample flow.
Intraoral moisture measuring device
An intraoral moisture measuring device includes: a swing member that swings with respect to a main body about a predetermined swing center; a moisture amount detection unit provided at a tip of the swing member, for detecting a moisture amount by being directly or indirectly abutted against a measurement site in a mouth; and a biasing member for biasing the swing member in one of swing directions. Consequently, the intraoral moisture measuring device is capable of measuring intraoral moisture in a simple and highly-accurate manner.
PREDICTIVE USE OF QUANTITATIVE IMAGING
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for predicting a disease state of a subject using ultrasound imaging. The method includes identifying at least one quantitative measurement of a subject using ultrasound imaging, the at least one quantitative measurement included as part of quantitative information of the subject gathered based on the ultrasound imaging, comparing the at least one quantitative measurement to a first predetermined standard to determine a first initial value, the first predetermined standard falling within a first range of quantities, identifying at least one qualitative measurement of the subject using the ultrasound imaging, the at least one qualitative measurement included as part of qualitative information of the subject gathered based on the ultrasound imaging, comparing the at least one qualitative measurement to a second predetermined standard to determine a second initial value, the second predetermined standard falling within a second range of quantities; and correlating at least the quantitative information and the qualitative information using the first initial value and the second initial value to determine a final value that is used in predicting a disease state of the subject.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR THE DETECTION OF INTRAORAL ACID EXPOSURE
The present invention provides non-invasive intraoral devices and methods for the detection of intraoral acid exposure, methods of making said devices, and their use in the diagnosis of disorders such as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD).
Image recognition-based dosage form dispensers
This invention provides a dosage form dispenser, comprising a casing comprising a first portion adapted for insertion within an oral cavity of a subject and a second portion adapted to encase a dosage form dispensing mechanism located therewithin; at least one camera positioned on said second portion of said casing, further positioned to capture a field of view of a portion of a face of a subject, wherein said field of view comprises at least a portion of a base view of the nose of said subject; a dosage form dispensing mechanism; a microprocessor and associated memory for processing and storing user authentication information, comparing images relayed from said at least one camera to at least one stored user standard and providing authentication when a match is established; and an interface connected to said dispensing mechanism, which promotes dispensing said dosage form when said authentication has been obtained. Methods for dispensing a dosage form directly within an oral cavity of a subject in need thereof, using the dispensers are also described.
