Device and method for liveness detection

A device for liveness detection is disclosed. The liveness detecting device has a simplest structure that principally comprises a light sensing unit and a signal processing module. Particularly, the signal processing module is configured for having a physiological feature extracting unit and a liveness detecting unit therein. The physiological feature extracting unit is adopted for extracting a first physiological feature from a PPG signal, or extracting a second physiological feature from the PPG signal that has been applied with a signal process. As such, through the first and second physiological features, the liveness detecting unit is able to determine whether a subject is a living body or not. The liveness detecting device does not use any camera unit and iPPG technology, such that the liveness detecting device has advantages of simple structure, low cost and immediately completing liveness detection.

A method for detecting estrus in sows where insemination is carried out when a determination has been made. In a first method images of a rear profile of each sow are analyzed to make a determination from features relating to a shape, size, and/or color of the vulva whether the sow is in estrus. The analysis can use a program where a large number of images showing the vulva area of a plurality of sows known to be in estrus and known not to be in estrus have been previously analyzed to generate data on the previous images to create a program which generates a signal using the data to make the determination. In a second method a boar is confined and brought into close contact with the sows where images and/or sounds of each sow are analyzed to make a determination whether the sow is in estrus.

In an embodiment, the training phase comprises placing electrodes on the head of a person, measuring electrical signals produced by the person's brain via the electrodes while the user engages in one or more thought-based training tasks, associating patterns of electrical activity in the person's brain while performing the tasks with controls of the sexual stimulation device. In an embodiment, the operation phase comprises generating control signals for the sexual stimulation device based on the associations when the patterns of electrical activity are detected by the electrodes. In some embodiments, machine learning algorithms are used to detect the patterns of electrical activity and make the associations. In some embodiments, data from other biometric sensors is included in the associations.

The one or more sensors may obtain EDA information that may determine a sympathetic nervous system response of the user, which may be responsive to an arousal event or an activation. Detection of events that increase the EDA response may provide information to the user regarding arousal events and provide recommendations to the user to address the arousal events to decrease their response.
