MONITORING OF DENTITION
A method for acquiring at least one two-dimensional image of a part of arches of a patient includes steps carried out by the patient or other person who is not a dental health professional, for example, including placing a dental separator in the mouth of the patient in order to separate the lips of the patient and improve the visibility of the teeth during the acquisition of said at least one two-dimensional image, and acquiring, in a mouth closed position and with a personal image acquisition apparatus, said at least one two-dimensional image.
System and Method for Fusion of Volumetric and Surface Scan Images
A system and method for generating a fusion of volumetric images and surface scan images said system comprising: a processor configuring the system to: receive both a volumetric image tooth mesh and surface scan image tooth crown mesh from a same patient, registered to a similar coordinate system; segment by anatomical structure each of the registered meshes that are in common between each of the registered volumetric image tooth mesh and the surface scan tooth crown mesh; and recognize a fusion vertices for each of the segmented volumetric image tooth mesh and segmented surface scan tooth crown mesh for matching the recognized meshes; remove a surface fragment from the matched volumetric image mesh in common with the matched surface scan image mesh for removal from the volumetric image mesh; and fuse the meshes by triangulating the recognized fusion vertices.
COMPUTER IMPLEMENTED METHODS FOR DENTAL DESIGN
Computer implemented method of generating a dental design, comprising: (a) capturing a facial image comprising a head of a patient and a smile; (b) displaying it as a first image; (c) capturing a 3D intraoral scan; (d) aligning the 3D scan to the head; (e) determining bounding boxes in the 3D scan, each comprising a single tooth; (f) showing a view of the 3D scan and the bounding boxes as a second image; (g) showing the bounding boxes as overlay on the first image; (i) allowing the bounding boxes to be resized/repositioned; (ii) defining a limited set of parameters to characterize the tooth inside the bounding box, and searching a number of candidate matching teeth from a 3D digital library of teeth, and proposing a candidate matching tooth; (iii) overlaying the first image with a digital representation of the proposed candidate matching tooth from the digital library.
Biosensor performance indicator for intraoral appliances
Methods and apparatuses for monitoring either or both the performance of an orthodontic appliance for repositioning a patient's teeth and/or the user compliance in wearing the appliance using a biosensor. The apparatuses described herein may include one or more sensors, including biosensors, electrical sensors, or both, configured to generate sensor data related to user compliance and/or repositioning of the patient's teeth by an orthodontic appliance.
PULP CAVITY DISTANCE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
A pulp cavity distance measurement system according to the present invention comprises: a first scan unit which acquires surface data; and a second scan unit which acquires volume data that is scan information different from the surface data, wherein the surface data and volume data are delivered via a database unit included in a control unit, and are merged into a single piece of data by a data merging unit. The shortest distance (pulp cavity distance) from the surface of the enamel of a tooth to the surface of the pulp cavity is calculated from the merged data, and the pulp cavity distance may be visually displayed by a distance stage display unit by using the calculated distance information (data). Here, the visual display may be expressed using colors or patterns having specific markings, and have a plurality of patterns so that the distance is displayed so as to be divided in stages. Accordingly, the system is advantageous in that a therapist can minimize tooth preparation in a part in which the distance to the pulp cavity is short, and reduce the discomfort of a patient due to vibrations caused by tooth preparation.
Dental Diagnostic Assembly
A dental diagnostic assembly for diagnosing dental health includes a handle that can be gripped by a dentist. A sensing probe is coupled to the handle and the sensing probe has a curved end which can be positioned against a tooth in a patient's mouth. A diagnostic unit is in remote communicates a diagnostic pulse to the sensing probe to transmit the diagnostic pulse into the tooth. The diagnostic unit analyzes the resistance to the diagnostic pulse to determine the health of the tooth. Moreover, the diagnostic unit includes a display for displaying numbers indicating the value of the magnitude of resistance to visually communicate the health of the tooth to the dentist.
Method and apparatus for early caries detection
A method (300) for detecting one or more caries using an imaging device (10), the method including the steps of: (i) directing (320) light from a first light source (12) toward a tooth (40); (ii) measuring (340), with an optical sensor (16), transmission of light from the first light source through the tooth; (iii) directing (330) light from a second light source (14) toward the tooth, wherein the second light source directs light at the tooth at a different angle relative to the first light source; (iv) measuring (350), with the optical sensor, reflectance from the tooth of light from the second light source; (v) comparing (360) the measured transmission to the measured reflectance; and (vi) determining (370), based at least in part on said comparison, whether a caries is present in the tooth.
COMPUTER-IMPLEMENTED DETECTION AND PROCESSING OF ORAL FEATURES
Described herein are computer-implemented methods for analyzing an input image of a mouth region from a user to provide information regarding a disease or condition of the mouth region, a computing device configured to receive the input images from a user; and a trained machine learning system. In some embodiments, the computing device is configured to transmit an oral health score to the user.
Device for drying tooth or bone surfaces
A device for the drying of tooth or bone surfaces includes a radiation source for irradiating the tooth or bone surface to be dried, a temperature sensor and/or a humidity sensor.
INTRA-ORAL SCANNING DEVICE
An intra-oral scanning device includes a light source and an optical system, and communicates with a display system. The device has a reduced form factor as compared to prior devices, and it provides for more efficient transmission and capture of images.
