System and methods for adjusting variable geometry, height, weight distribution dynamics in orthotic devices and equipment

An active suspension orthotic support system is disclosed. The suspension orthotic support system comprises at least one variable resistance beam extending from a heel section to a mid-arch section of the footwear, wherein rotation of the variable resistance beam from a first position to a second position causes a resistance provided by the variable resistance beam to vary between a minimum resistance to a maximum resistance.

An orthopedic system configured for use in a pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative assessment. The orthopedic system comprises a first screw, a second screw, a first device, a second device, and a computer. The first device and the second device are respectively coupled to a first bone and a second bone of a musculoskeletal system. The first and second devices each include electronic circuitry, one or more sensors, and an IMU. A bracket, wrap, or sleeve can be used to hold the first and second devices to the musculoskeletal system. The first and second devices are configured to send measurement data to a computer. The first and second devices each have an antenna system. Electronic circuitry in the first or second devices are configured to harvest energy from a received radio frequency signal to recharge a battery to maintain operation.

Systems and methods for monitoring acute:chronic workload ratio (ACWR) are described. An indicator of workload is received from a device worn or carried by a user. An acute workload is determined for the user based on the received indicator of workload over a first period of time. A chronic workload is determined for the user based on the received indicator of workload over a second period of time, where the first period of time is shorter than the second period of time. A current ACWR is determined for the user based on the acute workload and the chronic workload.

System, device and method for tracking the human hand for upper extremity therapy

Embodiments of the presently described device, system and method support upper extremity (UE) therapy through tracking the human hand. The system can include a hand-wearable sensor mounting system with hand-wearable components and a movement interpretation circuit. The device can include a hand-wearable component comprising a hook, and a sensing transducer comprising a clip, wherein the clip is detachably securable to the hook. In embodiments, one or more sensing transducers are translationally and rotationally restricted when secured to the hand-wearable components.

Implant evaluation using acoustic emissions

The present disclosure provides methods of identifying a loosened joint implant by analyzing acoustic emissions from the implant. The present disclosure further provides apparatuses for measuring acoustic data and analyzing acoustic emissions from a joint implant.

A WEARABLE DEVICE FOR DETERMINING MOTION AND/OR A PHYSIOLOGICAL STATE OF A WEARER
20220409098 · 2022-12-29 · ·

The invention relates to a wearable device for determining a nature of motion and/or a physiological state of a wearer. The wearable device comprises a body portion configured to be worn by the wearer and at least one sensor mounted to the body portion configured to, while the wearable device is being worn, detect a motion parameter of the wearer and/or a physiological parameter of the wearer and generate input data indicative of the motion parameter and/or the physiological parameter. The wearable device further comprises a processor configured to receive the input data from the at least one sensor and process the input data by executing an algorithm to determine the nature of motion and/or the physiological state of the wearer while the wearable device is being worn. The invention further relates to a system for determining a nature of motion and/or a physiological state of a wearer.

CLINICAL MONITORING OF PATIENT DATA
20220409050 · 2022-12-29 · ·

The invention generally relates to clinical monitoring of patient data. Embodiments provide a system comprising a processor for performing a method and/or computer-implemented method. In certain embodiments the method determines an intervention recommendation for a patient and may comprise analysing patient need data and intervention data to determine the intervention recommendation. In other embodiments, the method monitors, and/or facilitates monitoring of, the monitoring of a patient. The method may comprise receiving providing patient data to a monitor via a user interface on a computing device, monitoring activity and/or one or more actions of the monitor on the user interface, analysing monitoring data, and effecting an action based on the analysis of the monitoring data and/or generating a notification suggesting an action and sending the notification to the monitor based on the analysis of the monitoring data.

ORTHODONTIC BRACES AND FEET ORTHOTICS WITH BACKSCATTER BASED SENSORS
20220409342 · 2022-12-29 ·

Inventions herein include at least mostly optically clear orthodontic braces and feet orthotics (collectively referred to as “appliances”) with backscatter based sensors. These two categories of appliances share a common property requiring that the given appliance must be correctly custom manufactured to fit a patient's own particular geometry and dimensions of their teeth and/or feet in order to perform as intended. Incorporating such appliances with backscatter based sensors enables simple, easy, fast, efficient, and cost effective measurements, in real-time or near real-time, of stresses, forces, structural changes, and/or the like in the given appliance; which in turn can aid in determining if adjustments or re-manufacture of the appliance may be needed or desired; and/or wherein such measurements may aid in evaluating performance of the given appliance. In some embodiments, such measurements may also be taken remotely away from a practitioner; and then communicated to a remotely located practitioner.
