METHOD FOR PREPARING AN AUDIOGRAM OF A TEST SUBJECT BY USE OF A HEARING INSTRUMENT
A method for preparing an audiogram of a test subject by use of a hearing instrument. A sound signal is recorded in an auditory canal of the test subject at least partially closed by the hearing instrument by a first electroacoustic input transducer of the hearing instrument. A first input signal is generated therefrom. A test sound is generated by an electroacoustic output transducer of the hearing instrument and output into the auditory canal of the test subject at least partially closed by the hearing instrument. A hearing threshold of the test subject at at least one test frequency is ascertained on a basis of a reaction of the test subject to the test sound and by use of the first input signal.
METHOD FOR CHECKING A PPG SENSOR OF A HEARING APPARATUS, AND HEARING APPARATUS SYSTEM
A method for checking a PPG sensor of a hearing apparatus that has a rechargeable battery. A charger has a receiving space for the hearing apparatus and a testing environment for testing the functionality of the PPG sensor. The hearing apparatus is placed in the receiving space and the test environment is used to perform a function test on the PPG sensor.
BRAIN MONITORING AND STIMULATION DEVICES AND METHODS
Embodiments may provide self-guided, self-directed diagnostics and treatment of neural conditions. For example, a system may comprise a processor, memory accessible by the processor, and program instructions and data stored in the memory, a plurality of stimulation devices connected to signal output circuitry interfacing the processor with the stimulation devices, program instructions and data to control the stimulation devices to generate and transmit stimulation signals, a plurality of sensing devices connected to signal input circuitry interfacing the processor with the sensing devices, program instructions and data to receive sensed signals from the sensing devices, a communication device adapted to wirelessly communicate with a server computer system, and program instructions and data to perform dynamic closed loop feedback of the stimulation signals based on the received sensed signals to provide self-guided, self-directed diagnostics and treatment of neural conditions using at least one recipe for a treatment strategy guided by artificial intelligence.
Audio profile for personalized audio enhancement
A system creates an audio profile. The audio profile may be stored in a database. For example, the audio profile may be securely stored in a database of a social network and associated with a user account. The audio profile may contain data describing the way in which the specific user hears and interprets sounds. Systems and applications which present sounds to the user may access the audio profile and modify the sounds presented to the user based on the data in the audio profile to enhance the audio experience for the user.
Estimating the sleep state of a user based on blood flow information
An electronic device according to an embodiment includes a speaker capable of outputting a sound wave, a sensor capable of acquiring an optical signal related to blood flow at a measured part of a user, and a controller configured to measure blood flow information of the measured part based on the optical signal. The controller estimates a sleep state of the user based on the blood flow information and controls, based on the sleep state, a sound wave outputted from the speaker.
Deflection mechanism of an ear-nose-throat tool
A medical tool includes, a deflectable distal end, at least a pull wire, and a deflection assembly. The at least pull wire having a first end coupled to the distal end of the medical tool and configured to be moved for deflecting the distal end. The deflection assembly is coupled to a second end of at least the pull wire and is configured to control a deflection of the distal end. The deflection assembly includes a first gear having a first rotation axis, and a second gear, having a second rotation axis and including a jagged surface for integrating with the first gear. The jagged surface is slanted relative to the second rotation axis, and when the first gear rotates, the second gear is configured to be rotated by the first gear, to move along the second rotation axis and to deflect the distal end by moving the pull wire.
Electrodes for hearing devices and related methods
A hearing device for electrically coupling to skin of a user includes a body having a housing forming at least part of an outer surface. The device includes an acoustic transducer and an electrode disposed at least partially in the body. The electrode includes an outer conductor disposed at least partially in the housing and an inner conductor electrically coupled to the outer conductor and disposed subflush to the outer surface. A method of forming the hearing device includes providing a cast shell, forming an elastomeric conductor in a cavity of the cast shell, and removing a thin outer wall of the cast shell to form the housing of the hearing device.
System And Method For Monitoring A Bodily Substance In A Human Orifice With A Wearable Device
A system and method is provided for monitoring a biological substance in a bodily orifice. The system includes a wearable device configured to be worn in a bodily orifice. A biosensor is carried by the wearable device and is constructed and arranged to obtain raw data regarding a biological substance in the orifice. The biosensor includes a processor circuit to provide processed data from the raw data, and a transmitter to wirelessly transmit the processed data to a second device.
